  1. I, too, keep looking for the seemingly elusive breaking 80. Have done it 1 time at my course. My index is 7.8, my course hc is 9. Par 72. So, I've been shooting a bunch (10/20) rounds of either 80 or 81 which got the index down but am having trouble with the last couple of strokes. ARRRRGGHHH! If it's any consolation, I played a 3 Queens and 1 King tournament last week and shot a 78 - from the forward tees! Mark
  2. I love finding the lost Pro-V1s. I always tell my golf buddies that I don't want to play that ball because I find so many of them in the water!
  3. I have just finished my second round with the Garmin G6 after using a Skycaddie SGX for 4 years (since they first came out). My first impressions: - the screen is smaller and a bit harder to read - I like the touch screen a lot - It is easier to find intermediate distances using the touch screen vs. the joystick - It is smaller (good and bad) - The scorecard feature is much weaker than the SGX, especially for tracking and downloading stats. Skycaddie has done a great job of adapting Oobgolf to its website for stat tracking and analysis - I like not having a subscription - Accuracy seems to be comparable between the two units. I'll probably end up selling the SGX. Just received it back from the factory refurbished. Mark in Colorado
  4. I feel like I'm living the good life. I've been playing golf semi-seriously for 10 years. I'm 60 yo, my handicap (once I started keeping score) was a 24 and is now down to 7.5. I hit my first HIO last December. Then, thinking that was as good as it gets, I hit another HIO in April that only partially counts because they were the large cups after aeration. Ok, that's a fluke. 2 in 5 months. Then, yesterday, hit another legitimate HIO. Had to buy drinks for the 16 guys in my Tuesday group. Fortunately, most of them are my age and only drink beer! I'm not generally lucky in life but I can't imagine being luckier that this, as far a golf goes. Of course, with my handicap, I still lost my match!
  5. My one tip - memorize this:
