  1. 86, 40 on the front and 46 on the back. I was feeling very tired due to playing 45 holes 2 days ago. I am too old for that. Trying to rest this evening as 4 of us are going to an out of town course tomorrow.
  2. Played 36 holes on an out of town course with 3 buddies. Shot 80 and 81. Both rounds I had a double and a triple due to losing 4 drives right and OB. Putting was not real sharp either with a couple of 3 putts each round.
  3. 39-49 for an 88 adjusted to an 87 with ESC. Took an 8 on a par 4 and a 6 on a par 3 on the back. I blew tee shots on both of these holes and I have really become a believer in the importance if the long game. When I am playing decent the tee shot sets the tone and builds confidence.
  4. 81 this morning. One horrible triple due to a tee shot OB. I am still pleased for the most part with my ball striking
  5. 76 today on my home course, par 70 - CR69.8/113. The last two days I have actually hit the ball with the middle of the club face. I have started choking down on my driver and long irons and it seems to make a huge difference.
  6. Thanks. It only took a couple of years of reading this site to help nudge me. That and I might get a chance to start playing some tournaments.
  7. I got my first official handicap index today and it is a 9.4. Never thought I would be able to say I have a single digit handicap because I always thought single digits was great golf and I know I don't play great golf. It is amazing how our perceptions of what good golf is changes as we get better.
  8. Today was a pretty decent day. Shot an 81 and was making good crisp contact. The down side was 4 doubles because I flew the greens and left myself in horrible spots. This round was so much better than the last 2 of 89 and 92. I got my first official handicap index today and is a 9.4.
  9. 82 yesterday on my home course, 69.8/113. I had two balls OB, so it could have been better. It seems like it is one or two holes a round that really get me. I am still trying to work on the ball striking to hit more greens and keep it in play.
  10. 87 today. Wind was blowing and my newly developed bad back was acting up. Played my regular course, little over 6000 yards and par 70. Rating 69.8 / slope 113. This not an overly difficult course, but has some quirky holes, trees in the middle of the fairway and such. They were probably not a problem when the course was built over 40 years ago, but now they are right were I need to land a tee shot.
  11. I second this. My wife asked me to teach her and my response was "I love you and want to stay married. I will pay for all the lessons you want." She took a couple and plays a little now. I don't force it and may have to look into a set of full hybrids for her.
  12. I picked #3 because I have just signed up to get an official handicap. There is a golf association close by me that I am planning on joining to play in tournaments once the handicap is established.
  13. Okay, so after 3 and a half years I decided to take the plunge. I got an avatar, updated my handicap. I even signed up with the state golf association so I can get an official handicap. This site has really helped me with my game over the last couple of years and I want to say thanks and I am going to try and participate more. Glad that's done :-D
