  1. Bolded for emphasis. Today's round: I hit it well today but miserably failed to take advantage of the par 5's. Not great with the putter either.
  2. I've kept almost all of the gloves I've worn. I've collected 35 right now. Some of them in decent shape, most showing the wear and tear of a few hundred holes.
  3. I think where I used to live in southeast Idaho had the one of the best golf deals in the country. For anyone under 18, you payed $170 and got ulimited rounds on 3 different courses (pretty nice ones), any time of the week for the whole year. Over $500 for 18+ but still an amazing deal.
  4. Had my best round so far this season today, 75 (+3). Four bogies and one birdie. It was at course I've never played before too. The ninth hole is the longest hole I've ever played before at 777 yards, a par 5. I was -1 for the par 4's, but +3 for par 5's.
  5. I can shoot a 72 and a 92 in the same weekend.
  6. I had a fantastic front nine today and went -2 for a 34. I ran into trouble on the back and managed a +8 44 for a total of 78. Overall an above average round for me but I'm still pretty disappointed. I think that's the third time I've had a 10 stroke difference between nines.
  7. This happend 2 years ago in a high school state championship tournament. The 18th hole was a 540-550 par 5, slight dogleg left. I hit a great drive past the corner about 280. So I'm sitting in the fairway with about 260 deciding if I sould hit (the group ahead was almost on the green). I chose to wait for the green. Everyone else in my group has alread hit and there are now 2 groups on the tee waiting for me, as well as a considerable gallery by the green. Finally when it was time to hit, I chunked the hell out of it and it advanced about 80 yards.
  8. Had a very good shot today on a the par 4 fifth hole at my home course. It's about 400 yards with a big gulley from 20-100 yards in front of the green. Hit a three wood to the right against an OB fence. Took an unplayable lie and had about 160 from thick rough and a tree about 10 yards in front of me that I had to cut around. I chose 8 iron and hit it nice and firm right out to left of the green and cut it back to the pin. One bounce, hit the pin and dropped down 1 foot form the hole. Tapped in and took my par.
  9. Currently pitching and short wedge game are probably costing me the most stokes. Right at about 90 to 20 yards. I'm not terrible at it but I often give myself long putts and miss a lot of oppurtunities where I should have 10 foot putts for birdies or par saves. The next part of my game that could use the most improvement would have to be long approach shots about 190-220 yards.
  10. For me I'd say about 6-7 years of playing seriously. I started when I was about 8 years old and I was shooting around 100. My game peaked in the summer of '05 when I was 15-16. I got to a point where I was playing close to scratch. Due to different circumstances I only played maybe 3 times all last summer and fall so my game is lacking substantially this spring. Some people can improve a lot faster than others though. I had a friend who picked up the game sometime around spring 2005 who I played regularly with through the summer and he actually shot a best round of 81 that same summer. He never got too serious about it though and I don't think he's played since that summer.
