  1. I find most hackers are cheaters. They just don't play to the rules of the game... gimmies, mullies, drop a ball when OB, nudging the ball to get a better lie, etc.
  2. I agree 100%. When you go shopping for a driver leave your ego in the car. Ignore any snickers or puzzled looks on salesman's faces when you ask to demo a 13-15 degree driver. Loft is your friend.
  3. I just took a lesson to help solve this pull/slice in my swing. My goodness did the pro ever have an easy fix for me. After watching me on tape he had me change one thing that really helped. On my takeaway I was turning my hips and shoulders back at the same time. He simply had me delay my hip turn a little and voila... my irons suddenly had a WAY tighter dispersion. I am also swinging easier, but hitting the ball the same distance as before.
  4. OK, two good points there. I'm actually hitting my irons very well, so I'll just leave it as is. Thanks for the help.
  5. So I recently got a set of Mizuno MX-19's. I had them custom ordered at 1 inch overlength and it was recommended to me by the fitter at Golftown to not have the lie angles adjusted until I was more familiar with the clubs. So how long should I wait before I go back in for the lie fitting, or should I even bother? Looking at the range mat scuffs on the bottom it looks to me like I really don't even need the lie angles changed (scuff marks are pretty much in the middle of each club). Also, my ball flight is dead straight when I make a nice swing. I'm a little worried about going in for lie adjustments and having unnecessary changes made. I hit the ball really poorly in the Golftown simulators (mental thing I think) and so I don't think the fitting will be an accurate representation of my real swing. Any advice?
  6. I do this at the range, but I place a tee just behind and outside of the ball. Works great for ranges with mats too; just use the rubber tees built into the mat.
  7. I suffer from the same pulling problem. Sometimes it turns into a slice if I leave the clubface open, but my misses are usually pulls. The annoying thing is the pull also seems to add about a clublength of distance. When I do pull, I really feel myself being too aggressive at the start of the downswing. I think this causes me to swing with my arms too much and gives that outside to inside path.
  8. Is there anything particularly bad about the Dynamic Golds? I just custom ordered a Cleveland 60* and the only Sensicore option (bad wrists) from Cleveland was the Dynamic Gold. I use the Dynalite Gold SL Sensicore in the rest of my irons for the lower kickpoint. Back to the original question. I play 1" overlength on my irons and I've always been told not to use the extensions. Like wtd said, shaft are pretty cheap. I think I would feel uncomfortable knowing my shafts were not one piece.
  9. I currently carry a 46* pw, 52* gw and a 56* sw. But I just ordered a new set of irons (mx-19's), so I'll soon have a 45* pw, 50* gw and a 55* sw. While I was in the spending mood I also ordered a Cleveland 588 RS wedge (Only comes in 60*). I have trouble in the sand so hopefully the 588 RS will help.
