Without paying pro shop prices? The local golf stores around here only sell boxes, and the pro shops want $14 a sleeve! If a box costs $45, shouldn't a sleeve cost $11.25? I'd like to try a few different balls to see if I like them. I currently play the Callaway Tour i(s). I'd like to try the Penta, Pro V1, and Pro V1x. I've searched the internet to no avail.

I guess I'm a tool. I play all Callaway. Bag, driver, woods, irons, wedges, balls, bag, hats, and shirts. It started in high school. When I made the school golf team my freshman year, my dad bought me my first "real" set of clubs, Callaways. Also, as a lefty, when I go to the local golf stores, Callaway seems to have the largest selection for LH.

IIRC, The birdie pack is $15 and the eagle pack is $35. I bought the collector's edition and then the eagle pack. -
Glover is tearing the course up right now!

For those of you that play, what are your career stats so far? I've been playing since the day it was released and so far: Total Rounds 161 Average Score 59.7 Average Putts 1.4 Driving Average 307 yds Longest Drive 408 yds Driving Accuracy 90% GIR Percentage 86% Longest Putt 102 ft Aces 8 Double Eagles 3 Eagles 248 Birdies 1787 Pars 1058 Bogeys 147 Double Bogeys 23 Weeks as world #1 199 Man, if only I could play this good in real life! HAHA! Right now, I'm trying to break 50, 52 is my lowest round. Most of this was on amateur, so that I could unlock everything and get my guy to 100 on everything. -

You have 2 choices. You can wait for the network to come back up and then pay to download it, or you can skip it. Skipping will not affect your ranking. The courses are about $4 each. They also have packages so you can buy multiple courses at a discount. -
Seriously! As far as gloves, I just buy mine online.

One of the main reasons I like and play Callaway is that a large portion of their equipment is available in LH. My local golf shop has a decent LH section and a lot of it is Callaway.

I was browsing the blog and came upon an article from May 2010 announcing the release of some TaylorMade irons and putters. At the end it says: "The TaylorMade Rossa Monza Spider Vicino putter is available in center-shafted, heel-shafted, and jumbo models for right handed players, while lefties only get the option of a heel shafted model ." I see this happen with various brands. Every shop and retailer I go to, my options are very limited. Maybe I should open a left handed golf store!

How long should a 4 ball take to play 18 holes?
hjimzaf replied to TEAMWORLDCUP's topic in Golf Talk
I think one of the main causes of slow play is tee times. Why do munis, that are played by high cappers, insist on putting only 7-9 minutes in between tee times? By the 3rd hole, you have 3 groups waiting. Spread it out. I guess it's all about the money. More tee times means more money. -
My number 1 pet peeve is people who don't carry enough ball/tees for a round of golf. I have a buddy who constantly runs out of both. The tees don't bother me as much, but the balls do. What makes you think I want to give you a $4 ball when I know you play cheaper stuff and constantly lose them? Last week, he was out of balls on the 8th hole. I gave him a ball to finish the front. At the turn, I made him buy me 2 sleeves of Callaway Tour i(s) and he bought a box balls for himself.

She's a salesman's dream! She knows nothing about golf. She took a ball out of my bag to show them what I played. She knew I wanted a push cart so I'm guessing salesman pushed the clicgear on her. I would've been happy with a simple bagboy. I will definitely have to come up with something good. She's been hinting at some Coach purses.

May 4th was my 31st birthday and my wife hooked it up! I was NOT expecting everything that she got me. I got: New Clicgear push cart 3 dozen Callaway Tour i(s) balls (buy 2 dozen, get a dozen free, she said) New hat 2 shirts Anyway, ust felt like bragging about my awesome wife!

I used the same ball today for the 2nd straight round. I play Callaway Tour i(s). I love the durability. There are a few scuffs from my wedges, but even today, it checked like it did when it was brand new.
-
If your ball makes it through all 18 holes, will you use it the next round? When do you decide it's time for a new ball?
-
Oh man, I had a great round today. I had 2 birdies and 6 pars, final score of 81. 42 on front, 39 on back. 3 putts killed me. I must break 80 this summer!
-
Ah, got it. Thanks. They've shown the one on the green on TV before though, haven't they? Do they not show it every year?

Angel got his jacket inside. I thought it was presented outside in front of all the patrons?

I lost 5 bucks. I shot a 95 which I will gladly take from this course. I loved the course. Great layout, nice challenge. Definitely worth the money.

I gave him $85 which was a $50 tip. He was awesome. He cleaned my clubs, my ball, raked my traps, read the greens, etc, etc. His yardage book was full of info and he always had yardage and had great tips on how to play each hole. He said he's played the course a bunch of times and also loops at bandon dunes. I also told him not to give any info to my playing partners because there was money on the line and if they didn't want to pay for a caddie then they shouldn't get info. Ha ha!
-
i'm not too worried about the weather. it's supposed to be 60 and partly cloudy. I'm the only one in my foursome getting a caddie. the others are carrying their own bag. when i called the pro shop to reserve a caddie they said that the 35 dollars goes to the caddie. if he does a really good job do i give another 35, 40, 50?
-
On monday I'm playing a course that provides caddies for a $35 charge plus gratuities. How much should I tip. If it helps, this is the course. http://www.chambersbaygolf.com

If you could change ONE rule, what would it be?
hjimzaf replied to Q.Q.Quillume's topic in Rules of Golf
if you hit the fairway, you shouldn't be penalized if your ball lands in a divot. You should be allowed to move it without penalty.
