  1. Let's go Rangers!
  2. Now managed to get a couple of videos tonight. Front on suggests key #2 is my priority Down the line would suggest key #1 as my head dips quite a bit. Looks like a push (which is my miss when I don't hit it fat)
  3. Having not play for 18 months or so I'm getting back into golf again. Will have an update as soon as my phone tripod mount arrives (should get 120fps with my Galaxy S5 so the videos should be much clearer). I'm trying to put in at least half an hour practice a day with video (can't see ballflight). This is just an update (for myself as much as anyone else) to regroup my thoughts and videos. This is a playlist of my (7) lessons showing where I got to with Evolvr a couple of summers ago. I've also got a playlist of all of my uploaded swings here. (oldest to most recent) - a timeline of how my swing has looked / changed. Will have an update in the next few days.
  4. Just trying to get something straight in my head and probably worded this so it makes no sense at all (and I'm probably overthinking things). One of James' comments is in this video at about 3:35 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t_wM5nGU20) is to close your feet and shoulders. What's the difference between a closed stance (by this I mean aiming the clubface at the target and then closing the stance at address) and a closed clubface (aiming right of the target and then closing the clubface at address) or is it just the same thing?
  5. https://vine.co/v/eAwK7weOXg6 Ah... apparently it's a well known fact that Westwood swings like this.
  6. Finally my stripey living room carpet has a use! I can use the stripes to line up on and aim!
  7. I've been out of the loop for a while - a year and 9 months since my last post actually - so apologies if there's a thread that already does this. I thought it'd be a good idea to group all drills that you can do without actually swinging a club together - sort of an encyclopedia of drills you can do in the office / around the house / in front of a mirror when you have a spare few minutes. So with that in mind, does anyone have any good drills they'd like to share?
  8. Haven't lost alignment at A4 yet - think it's almost ingrained! Working on a better position at A6 (hands closer to right thigh from front on view.) I did it well in the past but lost it. Also working on better extension into the follow through. DTL FO
  9. I couldnt even figure out how to do a vardon grip lefty...
  10. More Key #4 work. Higher hands at A4, with club shaft laid off. Also trying to get a bigger follow through - I stop my hips way too early. DTL FO
  11. I wish my normal swing was that good!
  12. I made it! :-) I'd recommend evolvr to anyone. Ive been working with them for less than 2 months and the changes have been dramatic.
  13. A4 - before and after working on Key #4. Swing on the right is after about 30 swings working on Key#4 yesterday. The swing on the left is from the day before.
  14. Thanks Erik. Just fired off a video to Evolvr working on this so hopefully I'm getting it right and then I'll try to get it ingrained
  15. Controlling Key #4 - diagonal sweet spot path better. At A4 - higher hands, hands more in front of the body and club shaft laid off. There's a few swings in each vid. DTL FO Notes: I was feeling a little chicken wingy in a couple of these swings...
  16. I'm currently working on Key #4 and hand path with Evolvr and just have a quick question. How deep is too deep at A4? I need to get my hands a touch higher and I think the way to do this would be to have my hands a little less deep (shallower?) as per the image on the left. I also think that keeping my right arm more in front of my body will help with the 'deepness' too.
  17. DTL FO Getting my hands where I want them at the top - just need to stop the club crossing the line and stop the little drop that flattens my downswing out. Note : youtube is taking a while to process them...
  18. When I get the shanks it's caused by swinging too much in to out and getting too flat on the downswing. Stephan at Evolvr had me try to swing so that I felt like I was trying to hit a fade - I still swing from the inside out, but not so much. My shanks are now gone.
  19. I often go out for 9 holes after work, or even on a weekend but will play a full round whenever I can. Last time out my 18 hole round only took 2 and a half hours, and that was with 96 shots and a few lost balls and walking.
  20. Quick update. Shot a 96 today, finally back under 100. Much improved contact . I could even hit my 3w off the floor, something I've never beeen able to do.
  21. I'm friends with my Driver again. Went to the range and ironed out our differences. No video so I don't know what I WAS doing that fixed it, but what I was TRYING to do was get my right elbow into my right hip (get into the delivery position) on the downswing, getting to a full follow through (banking right foot and keeping going to up on the toe) and pushing up off the floor. Limited flight range balls were flying 180ish and running out and up the hill at the end of the range at 210 yards (I'm not a big hitter as you can tell from the speed of my swings in this thread so I'm very happy with that). Consistently starting straight with a 10 yard or so fade, more importantly they would all have been playable on the course. Actually looking forward to my next round now.
  22. I have leadbetter and v1 home. But I use a program called kinovea now which is free and doesn't to need to put my pc I to basic video mode to run like the others. Its not golf specific but it does all that the other two do. Though i'd get analyzr if i had a mac or if it was available on windows or linux.
  23. Could say the same about Geordies!
  24. Good point. Probably shouldn't have said anything about football given the result tonight...
  25. A geordie, speaking "proper" english? I don't think so. Welcome from a Durham golfer. I hope you're golf is fairing better than your football team (yes I'm a Sunderland supporter)
