  1. I like Gateway and Annbriar. Quail Creek is my home course practically.
  2. My friend who is 5 ft 10 150 lbs hits his 7i 200 yards no lie. Thats a monsterous hitter. Id say a big hitter goes 300 off the tee with driver carries about 250 with 3 wood and hits his 5i over 200 yards. I on the other hand hit as follow. Driver 260 3 wood 225 3hybrid 205-210 4hybrid 195-200 5I 175 6i 165 7i 155 8i 140 9i 120 pw 105 54 100 58 75
  3. He's a friend of yours, he claims to be much better than he is. Sure he can pure one 275-290 on occasion, but he never re tee's hitting 3 when he goes off the course. He always finds his balls even if they are in a bush or plant. He seems to always get 6's when you get 8's and pars holes that he goes OB on. He is always mad when he shoots in the 80's and claims to have shot 80's from the tips at Hilton Head last week. Although when he plays with you he shoots a 90+ and thats questionable. Do you know this guy?
  4. http://www.thegolfchannel.com/core.aspx?page=23460 Check out Haymes swing. DOOD! How does he hit it?
  5. How does the Snedeker hit the ball with those flippy hands? That is weird
  6. Ernie Els who has 16 tour wins will finish his career with 20+ total wins? Anthony Kim will win a major in the next 3 years Phil Mickelson will win a major this year? Tiger will win a major this year? Vijay Singh will tear it up 2009. 1 major and/or 5 tournement wins? Last but not least Which young gun in your opinion has the best chance of winning 20 wins in his career. Thanks for participating.
  7. I swing in my basement and practice the mechanics. I chip and putt in my basement also. I take long walks to strengthen my lower body. I am a 24 handicapper so you probably shouldn't listen to what I say! Anyway thats what I do. I can tell by how the iron comes through the mat if it was a good swing or not.
  8. Just from a technology standpoint I would say you are missing out. How much who knows, go hit some and find out. But if you are accurate with your 5 wood I wouldn't mess with it. That club is more for accuracy than distance in my opinion. The 3 wood I would look into. It is your longest club in your bag playing from the fairway. If you could squeeze 10 more yards out of it, it could be a more viable option off the tee and you could reach more par 5s in two, especially in wet/windy conditions. But again its just my opinion.
  9. Does this really improve your game? I've been debating between the range finders and Sky Caddie. Please let me know your experience with either one or both. Thanks for any input.
  10. During your swing do you have a special move or sensation that keeps the checks on right. I am a right handed golfer and when I am swinging through I feel a little twing/muscle flex into my right finger and middle finger on the right hand, and almost ensures the club stays down and gets it a little deeper on the strike. It's my signature feel and it has really helped me out tremendously. My irons and woods have become a very part of my game because of it.
  11. Aquaman is my least favorite Ames big horse teeth get on my nerves. Paula Creamer is a atrocious. Scott Hoch can rub me wrong on occasion
  12. I personally think normally yes, but in sports/athletics I disagree. A lot of times you see losers make it in professional sports. Now in golf in particular, it's fairly rare, but in the NFL, NBA, MLB etc you see losers make it all the time. I personally think you have the ability or you don't. You can practice all day everyday, but unless you where predetermined to be a stud you can't obtain that level. Just my opinion of course and thats not a law, just seems to be the way nature works.
  13. I know this is a hypothetical question and some of you hate these post. I however do not, so what do you all thinK? He has 2 how many would he have if he didn't drink smoke and took his craft serious? 10?
  14. Exactly I had a Eureka moment on the range until I went out the following day and shot a 95. O wait I did have a Eureka moment, all my confidence was sucked out of me.
  15. Nice analogy and well spoken
  16. I agree with you I was notorious of doing what you said. Id mis a green to the left or right, but man I could chip something fierce, at this time it was the only thing I could do well. I did it so well I could 1 putt 4-5 holes a round because of my short checker shot and bump and run. Now that my ball striking has gotten better I no longer have those chances as much. I hit GIR's more often now, but you couldn't tell by my stats. I 3 putt way more often now. Having a 40 footer lag putt is a lot more scarey to me than a 25 yard chip.
  17. Consistency is more important IMO. But 220 to 280 is a big difference. I think id go with 50% fw at 280 over 85% at 220
  18. 43 on 9 90 on 18
  19. It's in the mindset. Think I'm not that good so who cares. I do this a lot and I strike the ball the best when I am thinking this. Don't get me wrong make your stragety and focus on what needs to be done, but when it's time to take the shot just think I am not that good, why worry if I mess up. Hit it and let the ball do it's thing. Easier said than done, but with some practice you will get better at it. Another thing is playing well in the right set of mind. Practicing a lot doesn't guarntee you will get better neither does playing. So when you play control what you can. Take a positive thought and enjoy yourself. Allowing tension to get into your swing body etc is a sign of playing for the wrong reason. To be good etc, I would play to have fun and let the other stuff come to you. IMO being good is a byproduct of doing certain things right. I bet most of these single handicappers don't worry about failing. They get up there do what they know they can do and do it.
  20. Not all teachers think the right hand working is such a bad thing. I've met a guy who coached a few highschoolers who went on to play for Illinois and they have a right side dominate approach. I'm not saying thats the best way, but not always the worst either. I am a hitter even though I am working on being a swinger.
  21. I roll with the baseball grip and Overlap. Depends on my mood to be honest, but man the baseball grip I can get some serious hook action going. With the overlap I get more of a fade shot, I play the overlap about 90%. But with that being said thanks for sharing that info!
  22. Looks like he is on the leaderboard for the Hong Kong classic or whatever the technical name is. He has putted fairly well and played smart golf.
  23. This is the worst part of my game. I'd say 40% at the very most, probably like 25% to be honest
  24. Maybe a couple, but I am a mis hit type player. I usually play my weaknesses so if I ever did "pure one" it would probably end up being a terrible shot lol. I have compressed a 60 and 56 and pulled some huge spin off of them.
