  1. I am starting to have a real problem. Can a shaft make that much difference? I bought a FT-5 with an accuflex creation 65g stiff shaft about 2 weeks ago. I loved the club head when I hit it a few months ago. I used it for a weekend tourney as soon as I got it and I wasn't quite used to the creation but I hit some great drives with it but it wasn't as consistent as my SQ with the redboard. I figured I just need to get used to it. The ones I did smash felt awesome. I took a week off last week as I needed to step away for a couple of days. I became more inconsistent with all my clubs as that weekend tourney progressed. I played this past Sunday with couple of guys from my club and I was hitting all irons and wedges great. Better than usual. But I couldn't do anything off the tee. I either hit low wormers or low snap hooks. I even topped quite a few. I hit one long deep drive that actually got up with a nice trajactory. But that was it. I went to the range today at lunch and did the same thing. Irons nice and straight with a beautiful fade every now and then. Drivers sucked! low burners or snap hooks. I might of hit 2 or 3 good drives. I was pissed as I drove away. I got home from work and grabbed the Superquad out of the spare bag and I tee'd up two balls in the fairway behind my house and hit back-to-back bombs down the middle. All I could do was laugh. Both clubs are the same loft both shafts are stiff and about the same weight (63g & 65g) I know I got frustrated at the range which caused me to be more tense. I was somewhat laid back at the house, but I still don't think that I was swinging that much differently at home than on the range. Can a shaft make that much difference? I know I have swing flaws, which I am trying to cure. (first lesson of the season tomorrow.) But my usual mis-hits with the Superquad are a long killer hook. All my mishits with the FT-5 were low and short or low snap hooks. I don't have launch data except for swing speed (107-110). I have a fast transfer and a quick tempo. I am planning on asking as many questions tomorow as possible but I wanted to know what you guys thought. I really want to love this combo. I love the FT-5. It looks great and has the most pop of any driver that I have hit. But I am starting to think it is the shaft. I am developing this same senerio in my 3 wood. But hopefully that when I cure my driver problem my 3 wood problem will go away.
  2. I just won a black FGP Seemore putter for $61 on ebay. It describes it as 9 out 10. I can't wait to get it. my putting needs help in a bad way and I hope the scope system straightens me out. I have been watching these for a while and haven't seen one go for less that $150
  3. I believe I have very quick hands. I swing to hard most of the time. I felt like the club was behind and not catching up. I know I have swing faults. If i'm not careful my transition gets really fast. I have to tell myself to almost stop in my transition from my backswing to my downswing. Last time i was a monitor my SS averaged around 107mph.
  4. For this forum I guess I should have asked, "What Irons should I play?".
  5. Bear with me for a second. I ordered a new TEE CB2 after hitting one on a monitor at Golf Headquarters about a month ago. The club I ordered was supposed to be in 8.5 out of 10 condition with a stiff NV shaft. When I received the club it had a brand new head with a stock Xquad regular flex shaft. I hit it a couple of times this weekend on the course, and sliced the dog mess out of it. So I need to get a stiff shaft put into it. I want to know if I am just supposed to buy a shaft that is uncut at 46" and let the fitter cut it down to the correct length or am I supposed to find a shaft that is the correct length? I would assume that the shaft characteristics would change if you are cutting the tip (making it more tip stiff) or cutting the but end (making it lighter) I guess what I am wanting to know is are fairway shafts are made any different than driver shafts? Every new shaft that I see on any website or ebay is uncut at 46" I am looking to get into doing my own club work as the closest fitter is an hour away. Just trying to learn a few things.
  6. I love Global Golf. I have bought a bunch of stuff and have never had a problem. It just so happens that I ordered a set of Titleist 755 irons yesterday morning and they were sitting on my desk at 11:00 am this morning. I only paid for 3 day shipping but I still received them overnight. They had a 3 star rating and they look like they have been hit maybe a dozen times. The new is barely rubbed off. I would rate these a solid 4 star. Everything else I have bought is always in better condition than I thought it would be in. In my opinion they are the best online retailer for used clubs. I won't shop anywhere else.
  7. I just had a redboard put in my driver and love it!!!! I had a VS proto and I really liked it also, but when I really went after the ball I had less control of the club head.
  8. what was your ball flight with the NVS compared to the BB solutions? What are the flight characteristics of the BB solutions? low/mid/high?
  9. I recently purchased a Maltby CT250 8° head, and I am trying to decide what shaft to put in this. I currently play a 9.5° TM Superquad with a VS Proto Stiff. My ball flight with my current set up is a mid to high draw. I bought this head to get my flight down, but I don't want it low. So I was thinking of getting a mid to high launching shaft. Am I way off with my thinking? I know it is hard to suggest shafts, heads, etc. with out seeing my swing and LM stats. I do know my average swing speed is 104 mph. any help would be greatly appreciated.
  10. What is you r normal ball flight? What I mean is do hit the ball high with your long irons and 3 wood? If you get the ball up then you will probalby need a lower lofted driver. If you have trouble getting the ball in the air then you may need the 10.5°. I have the same driver in the same loft I and still feel like I hit the ball to high. Oh yeah, It should be fine!!! let er rip!! Hope this helps
  11. I am in the market for a good cavity back iron and I have narrowed it down to one of these. This might be a stupid question, (I'm sure Erik will let me know) but what is the difference in the two?
  12. The kicker is that she shot a 61 on a course that had just been aerated. It also goes on to say that her hole in ones never land on the green. She must be one hell of a scrambler to shot under par. I am guessing that her GIR aren't that good.
  13. I am having the same problems. I try to swing too hard and up not shifting my weight and staying on my right foot and not following through to the target. I am working on it as well. Just not enough hours in the day.
  14. I hope you aren't selecting a shaft based on what color it is.
  15. How do ya'll play in jeans? I can't play in them. Too restrictive!
