  1. 3 things at the moment: - Number 1 is tempo - the faster I swing the worse it goes. Smooth tempo is number 1 priority to making solid contact with every club. - not taking it too far back so I don't overswing and keep the club under control. - speed over line when I putt.
  2. Prefer to walk whenever I can - much easier to stay connected to your game. I only ride when it is not practical to walk, usually based on the course. Riding is particularly painful when it's cart path only and you have to grab 3 or 4 clubs, only to get to your ball and see you need a different club because of a lousy lie......:-O
  3. Driver - 240 4 wood - 220 20 degree hybrid - 205 23 degree hybrid - 190 5 iron - 180 6 iron - 170 7 iron - 160 8 iron - 150 9 iron - 135 PW - 120 GW - 110 SW - 85 LW - 65 Normal swing. Abnormal swing, anything's possible...........
  4. I play a Vokey and don't stop it, spin it, pull it back etc. It's a swing thing. Having said that, I play a Vokey because it feels good to me and it's a great wedge, but just changing your wedge won't make it happen. If you really want to be able to generate that type of action it's your swing that will make it happen. My son is 23 and he can stop it, spin it, zip it back, etc., - lets just say his swing and my swing aren't the same!! But usually he isn't any closer to the hole than his old man! Looks cool, but requires precision shots to make a difference. Go with whatever gets you closer to the hole!
  5. Agree with posts encouraging you to hit them all and go with whatever you prefer. At the end of the day, if you're hitting decent shots and enjoying the game, the difference between spending 1,800 or 1,500 won't ever enter your mind. Go with whatever feels best - brand loyalty is overrated - reality is you can't miss with any of the equipment or combos of those brands that you're looking at. Welcome back and have fun out there!!
  6. I have the same ping iwi anser putter - head cover definitely on. I don't find it a hassle - slips on & off with ease and magnets hold it in place, very smart.
  7. Golf season is officially underway up here in Canada. Here's to a great '11 on the links
