  1. I have been struggling with which app to purchase as well. I've tried many apps over the past few weeks including golflogix. I was most impressed with Mobitee and Golf Pad. They are both one time purchases where as Golflogix is an annual fee. Mobitee seems to be a bit more polished as far as user interface and rangefinder for $25. Golf Pad on the other hand is really nice and keeps up with a ton of club stats for $15. Not sure which one I want without trying the full version of both for an entire game.
  2. I also have been struggling with flipping. It was causing me to hit fat on my irons. Really fat. I believe I have beat it on all of my clubs except my driver. A combination of flipping and hand rotation are resulting in a horrible slice. I can compensate for the hand rotation in my flip and get a fairly straight sky ball about 200 yards down the fairway. While compensating for the rotation if I dont flip i end up with an unplayable hook, and hopefully there were no houses on the left side. If I dont compensate for the rotation and I dont flip, the world is a beautiful place and I'm 300 yards in the fairway. It's a work in progress. The only compensation I am allowing is that I am playing the left side of the fairway. My slices haven't been bad enough lately to come all the way back across into a bad place. I found a couple of training aids on Amazon that I haven't bought into yet, but I am considering. One is the Swingyde, and the other is the Ben Hogan Secret. Both are designed to keep you from flipping and keeping the correct wrist angle through the backswing as well. First thing for me is to commit to more practice.
  3. Thanks for all the input. It must have been a pulled muscle. Perhaps an extra large divot did some damage. I took about 2 weeks off and it's fine now. 18 holes and no pain.
  4. Recently started experiencing pain in my right side chest midway through a round. I am assuming its something I started doing wrong in my swing but cant figure it out. Not getting any more poor shots than normal and not taking any larger divots than normal. Help please!
  5. I am a machinist. Been playing for over a year and am addicted. I live in the Dallas are where there are a ton of municipal courses and the twilight rates are pretty competitive. So I get to play alot on a machinist salary.
  6. Ross Dress for Less. I have gotten Nike and Under Armour shirts for under $20 there.
  7. I looked at these as well. Went to Golfsmith to hit them again and drop some cash and ended up getting the Mizuno mx-1000 instead of the mx-100. They were only $100 dollars more and the feel was way better. Fell in love with them the first swing. If you like the 100's you should definitely hit the 1000's.
  8. Yes. If they are in good shape. Those were my second choice last week when I bought new irons. They were going to cost me 300 for just the irons. I say buy them. I would.
  9. I have only been playing a couple of years and I guess I was a TaylorMade tool. Except for my Ping putter. I recently broke into the 90's and decided to reward myself with some new irons. I went to several places with intentions of buying Burner Irons to replace my 10 plus year old Burner Supersteels. Finally walked out of Golfsmith with Mizuno MX 1000's. For me they blew everything else, especially the TM's, out of the water. Now the only TM I own is my driver and a hat. Mizuno irons, Titleist wedges, Ping 3w, and TaylorMade driver. All generic head covers. All my clothes come from Ross Dress For Less. I have a friend who plays an entire set of Academy Sports brand, Acuity I think, and wears Nike clothes from head to toe. I am now in the mid to low 90's and he is still in the 120's.
