  1. so i went and played some golf last night at the lighted course by my house - wasnt topping the ball at all!!! instead i chunked 80 percent of my shots..... at least i improved on the ball topping......
  2. its wierd - when i was in the simulator last week i could hit ever shot awesome with my 3 wood - i go on the course/range and i keep topping it - i feel like kevin costner in tin cup when he gets the shanks.....
  3. i cant picture what your saying....
  4. my first set was an all in one set - it was a set of Ram memorial. i paid 100 bucks for it and after a month of use the head of my 5 iron flew off at the range. The driver was so whippy you could go fly fishing with it, the fairway woods were so big that it was like hitting a driver off the deck. the paint on the putter chipped off, and the hybrid weighed about the same as a cinder block...... needless to say i wasted 100 bucks - i did manage to sell this set on craigslist for 50 bucks - so i lost 50... i think i played with this set for a little over a month before i bought new clubs... i just kept hitting the used racks at golfsmith, golf galaxy, and this awesome shop on long island that has a ton of used stuff... Im sure you can find a very good set of clubs for under 400 bucks and get some very ood stuff if you dont mind playing used.. I saw a set of Cobra oversize (pretty old) for 80 bucks at golf galaxy near my house.. they were in awesome shape and just needed a regrip... Good luck to you
  5. sunday i shot 45 on a par 37 9 hole - never hit the ball so well. monday i go play same course - 57 on the same course!!! amazing how one day you can hit every club in your bag - the next day completely fall apart....
  6. i lov ethat video- it has helped me so much.... THere are otrer videos too- i think the site is called video jug???
  7. i was thinking about not using my driver for a while - because i couldnt get it past 190 yards- then i purchased a driver with a 13.5° loft - and i have been hitting this thing dead straight and anywhere between 230-250 yards...
  8. i was wondering the same thing when i bought my hybrid - some said hit it like a wood - others said hit it like an iron - so after experimenting - i found for my 19° I get the best rseults when i put the ball in the center of my stance smack down on it like an iron. When I was sweeping it like a fairway wood, i would hook it consistently - know hitting it like an iron makes it fly straight and far.. I love my hybrid, its my favorite club in the bag took a while to get used to but once you get used to yours - im sure you ar egoing tgo love it...
  9. my woods definitley have enough loft - driver is 13.5 and the 3 wood is 16 --------if i hit them clean - i absolutley smoke the crap out of them, but - i have been topping every shot - i will try to imagine the park - bench thing but for some reason i am not "seeing" it right now....
  10. Any one have any good drills for someone who is topping the ball.... I just went to the range to hit some woods. i seem to be topping everything....Very frustrating....................
  11. wow - a miserable 47 on apar 30 - life is rough...... Just not feeling it today...
  12. When I look at the mizuno site - it size it has no offset.... or i may be looking in the wrong place??? i dont know... im very confused...
  13. the guy who fitted me tolf me that I need to have an"offset" putter - or start opening the face... looks lik ethe guy may have a been an a-hole- hopei ts not a $250 putter wasted..........
  14. im not sure about shaft offset - I do know that the head is slightly open, and it is screwing me up big time.
  15. sorry if I came off a little rude - im just saying if the show fits, you know... I have been having alot of luck iwth ,my short irons this way and im loving life so I wont be changing anything anytime soon.... unless I fall apart like your playing partner....
  16. maybe a forward press is a "band aid" but if it works for you - so be it...
  17. started doing that with my short irons and that is what makes my short irons rock... i feel lik ethe long irons are harder to get my hands ahead...
  18. ???????????
  19. I have the taylormade burner 19° - love it.....
  20. thats good news... i may need to get that adjusted......
  21. The new club was the answer for me. Maybe i dont have the perfect swing - but at least i can enjoy myself more when im on the course witha little help from this club.... It is a game and it should be fun and relaxing - if a new club makes you at least feel like your playing better - thats huge -- anyway they say this game is what -like 80% mental???
  22. i was fitted for my putter - i have another post going on about that... as for the irons - I am thinking of getting a proper fitting tyhe end of this month..as long as I can get my six iron back into the zone.....otherwise i will wait - otherwise i am very happy with my iron swing - also i was wondering about wedges - should they be fit as well???? i hit mine awesome and straight so im not going to change anything - but do you normally get fit for wedges??? I really dont know what the hell happened to my iron game - with my clevelands i had no problems hitting the long irons - maybe they were more forgiving them the mx-23.....
  23. now i need a new 3 wood...... i promise I wont start a 4 page thread about it though
  24. I was fitted for my Mizuno c-03 putter a few months ago. I was told I should get an offset putter to assist with ,my aim. So i bought this putter. They adjusted the lie and loft on the putter to work with ,y stroke, and i love my putter. The only thing is the offset is hurting me a little bit lately. The club lies slightly open - which i am assuming is the offset, but for some reason lately when I think im aiming at the hole i wind im missing to the right of the hole.... NOt fun. especially on short putts. The other thing is I cannot find an offset version of this putter anywhere - can the club fitter who bent the the and loft on the club be able to bend it for the offset too???? If i am not making any sense here please let me know - im just repeating what the fitter told me....... Thanks in adavance!!
  25. Heres what i did. I bought my clubs off the shelf used. did not get a proper fitting, but kept in mind that they are forged so i can get them bent whenever i want. A week or so bfore i bought my irons, i tried out a set of ping g2's which i almost bought because I was hitting them so well, they were orange dot (2 degree flat) and 1/4" short. I was hitting them at the driving range awesome, just lost alot of distance due to the fact that they had stiff shafts.... i needed reg..... ANyway, i went to pins site and put in the info and sure enough it came with the same specs, orange dot, 1.4" short. So i went to the store and had them bend my irons 2 deg flat and i saw an immediat ediffernece in ball direction and accuracy.... I didnt cut anything becasue I wanted to waiting until i had a full proper fitting to do anything like that. I was trying to get my swing down pat before I go get fit - or am i doing it backwards????? should i go get fit first?????I know that the 2 degree flat has helped me immensly becasue before the mizunos - i owned a set of cleveland launcher LP, They were standard lie - and i would pull everything- WOuld a 1/4" make a huge difference in the shaft????
