  1. ... seems to be unecessary and the damn feature is not working in the first place even when my 20/20 vision is positive about the blury letters I see. Moderator/owner - don't be such a stiff! Get rid of that feature when doing a search. No offense. Thanks.
  2. If you match your breathing pattern with your swing tempo, it seems to slightly aid bringing the arm up since when you inhale your shoulders rise. I do this breathing through my nose. Also, don't get addicted to driving ranges. It may be easier to improve and understand your swing just my working on it in front of a mirror. Work on it until you get into the position you want tension free.
  3. Keep in mind the golfers you see w/ perfectly straight arms also have relaxed arms. If you lock the arm straight the tension spreads to many muscles in the arm limiting flexibility. Test the difference in the motion your struggling with.
  4. Financial Analyst for a futures commission merchant. This is my first career out of college. I love numbers and computers. I am also a programmer in .NET/VBA. I plan on getting out of this industry, what a circus!
  5. A righthander has to play a fade around the willow tree on the first hole. I saw a couple stiffs hit that tree. Brutal way to start.
  6. http://www.winnetkagolfclub.com/ This is a good course worth checking. This course has decent practice greens and driving range.
  7. About the grip on the top hand. Does anyone ever have a problem where there top thumb slides down the club on the end of the backswing when the wrists fully hinges. This happens to me when my hands get sweaty and it ruins all tempo among other things. I think my wrists may not be very flexible.
  8. On initiation of the downswing drop the right elbow straight down. This will force the club to be to start from the inside. Exagerate it at first so you are hitting massive pushes or even chunking the ball (but with inside-out divots). The swing will feel like a convulted loop but it is necessary to learn to hit from the inside. My pro told me to visualize my swing as controlled by the right arm. The arms swing the club and the body just gets in the way. So, visualize the back/down swing initiated by the back arm (but don't get too carried away and allow your front arm to flex). Then you can feel the elbow drop and the club face / path on an drawed shot. This action is the power karate chop motion that contributes to power in the golf swing. Also, think about only one tip at a time for a swing/grouping of shots.
  9. My tips for this: First off, think about only one tip at a time for a swing/grouping of shots. Then, on initiation of the downswing drop the right elbow straight down. This will force the club to be to start from the inside. Exagerate it at first so you are hitting massive pushes or even chunking the ball (but with inside-out divots). The swing will feel like a convulted loop but it is necessary to learn to hit from the inside.
  10. Your shoulder turn and arm extension doesn't look natural/comfortable. It may be causing multiple problems including unhinging right arm on the downsing - this would kill power, deloft clubface. I am also left handed, started playing young, and spend alot of time video taping my swing and watching it in the mirror. Looks like you have alot of flexibility and potential. I suggest investing any money you spend toward golf in lessons . That is my best tip.
  11. I also am constantly trying to improve my swing.
