Should Viewers Be Able to Call in Rules Violations
PaulaFan replied to iacas's topic in Rules of Golf
I don't think players should be able to cause any kind of change to the outcome. I'm sure if I called an NFL official after a big football game was over they would not change their call on a play just because I told them they messed up a call. -
I agree with everyone else on this. If she was born in the USA then she is as American as they come. And I believe very soon she will be an American who has won on the LPGA tour.

That is the most intelligent thing anyone has said yet. Morgan is a great golfer and will win lots of tournaments, but she will lose a lot more. I think she is just an emotional teen age girl as others have mentioned. Let her cry, she is entitled to it. I'm glad to see some real emotions on the tour. That is why I like the LPGA more than the PGA - the real emotions. I think Morgan is very impressive. I love watching her play - tears and all.

This may sound strange coming from a Michelle Wie fan, but I was surprised at her #3 ranking also, and feel that she did not deserve it. She is a great golfer, to be sure, but there is no way she is that good. But, what really ticked me off about the rankings is that Morgan Pressel isn't even ranked. Does that make any sense? She is every bit as good as Michelle Wie, so how does Michelle get #3 and Morgan not get rated at all? Yeah, the rankings system needs tweaking a bit.

It does appear she chokes sometimes on the green. Personally I think she needs to learn some new putting techniques also. If she ever gets her game going on the green she will be unstoppable.

Does anyone know when Morgan will be playing a LPGA match again?

It looks like Paula and Michelle are tied at 32 place in the Womens British Open - not too impressive. Hopefully they will do better tomorrow.

Well gee, golfin girl, men will be men, and we can't help it. Watching Tiger is great, but I gotta admit watching the young cuties gives me pleasure that even Tiger can't deliver.
-
Did you see that girl go? Paula was totally awesome at the Evian Masters all week long. She played with the best players in the world, including Annika, and kicked butt. She played like Tiger did last week. I am very proud of her. Will she be the next Annika? I would not be surprised.

I know she is immature, and rightfully so at 17, but I agree with what she said. How could it be bad for the tour. I think many people would want to watch her play. I know I enjoy it.

I agree. If they let them play and they earn the money then they should get it. If they can't legally give it to the teens then give it to their parents or put it in a trust fund until they come of age, but somehow they should get the money.

Perhaps you don't care, but lots of us do care. She has a lot of talent and potential. I can't wait to see her win some tournaments. She is the number one rated amateur in the world. Even though Michelle Wie gets all the media attention Morgan is the one that really deserves it. Don't get me wrong, I love watching Wie play, but Morgan is the better of the two players. --

I also read on another site that she has a verbal commitment to attend Duke University in the fall of 2006 so she may have another year of high school - but I'm not sure. I suppose she could still play in the LPGA while attending high school. She is doing it now.

I read yesterday that Morgan Pressel has applied for membership in the LPGA. Since she is only 17 they will have to make an exception for her. Personally, I think she will do well in the LPGA and they will accept her if they know what's good for them. She would be a great crowd pleaser.

It looks like most people believe Tiger will win. That is no surprise. Certainly he is the one I would think would win, but we will see. Of course it will be next week-end before we know how Tiger and Jack will do, but so far it is tied between Wie and Pressel. They both finished today at -1. Paula Creamer finished at +1.
-
Did you ever think that Jack Nicholas, Tiger Woods, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel and Michelle Wie would be competing in the same tournament? Well, it is going to happen. It is the Steve Holder Fantasy Invitational . You can cast your vote for the winner at the website. Silly? Maybe. Fun? Definitely. I can't wait to see who wins.

Why does this forum make me sign in repeatedly? I am getting tired of signing in five times every time I visit here. What is causing that? Can it be fixed?

As much as I enjoy watching Michelle play I agree she does get more than her share of attention. After all, Morgan Pressel is still the No. 1 ranked amateur and she isn't discussed nearly as much. In a one on one match play situation I think Morgan could teach her a thing or two. But I digress; my point is that I agree it's time for her to win something or I believe the media and spectators will start losing interest.

I agree that Tiger is looking good out there lately. I hope to see the old Tiger back. Somehow it just seems natural that he dominate on the tour. I guess that's because I thought watching golf was boring for many years and then Tiger came along and made it exciting. Mostly I watch the LPGA because it is much more entertaining, in my humble opinion, but when Tiger is playing well, the PGA rocks.

I totally agree with the above quote. Michelle is playing like a pro. She is precocious, talented beyond belief, ambitious, and confident she can run with the big dogs. So, let's not try to keep her on the porch.

Several of the teens did really well. On the last day the only one that really stood out from the rest was Morgan Pressel. I am very impressed with that girl. I know she will do some very impressive things in the years to come.
