Bridgestone B330 - Found a new Ball

I've done a lot of research on affordable yet exceptional balls and i think i'm gonna settle down with either the Callaway HX 3 Piece Series or the Maxfli Revolution Tour. any info or thoughts before I make my final decision? -

I was playing a callaway HX-Red before I tried out the Nike One Platinum so the Nike ball felt a bit harder in general. I couldn't tell if i hit the nike farther than the callaway because I didn't it well at all. The cover DID seem to feel a little more tacky which was definitely good around the greens. It does feel a bit un-durable but it didn't scuff when i expected it to until i hit a branch pretty hard. I would suggest this ball for fast swingers because it takes some power to crush this rock and get the most distance out of it AND it has good control around the greens. for everyone else with either a low budget or a swing speed under 105-110ish, stick to something more affordable and fit for ur swing speed -

things went well today........ i scrambled a little less than 1 out of every 2 missed greens and i 3 putted only ONCE the entire entire round... then i pulled out the Nike One Platinum ... i pulled out the platinum at the 10th hole after i shot a unsatisfying front 9. the first shot at the platinum was a jump start to my downhill ride... i pushed it hard to the right with an 8 iron on the par 3, the same 8 iron i stuck on the green for a par on the previous hole which was also a par 3 (bad course design?). i found the ball and tried to get things together but i ended up picking up......... i figured it was the chinese food i had for lunch that was stirring up that was bugging me but then i push/cut the ball off the tee with my friggin 3-wood into the trees where i scuffed it........ enough said, i'm sticking with the maxfli rev- series if you want more info on the platinum, check out this site http://www.equip2golf.com/ i had a feeling it was the thought of using such a nice ball but once i lost it, i saw no change in my performance need to hit the range....... -
wow I wish the course I play at had something like that... all they have are two crappy practice greens and a terrible shag field. but then again, its not a club but a public course sucks for me i'm thinking about joining a club... that would definitely help my game and maybe save me some $$$$ cuz i've been playing 3-4 rounds a week this summer which bites hard into my wallet

i DEFINITELY agree with u there i've begun to stop expecting him to make clutch shots sometimes he messes up, sometimes he surprises me until he can stop these late-round mistakes, second place is gonna start to taste more bitter every time

A system devised to make play between golfers of different standards an even match. Your handicap is the number of strokes over par you average over four rounds at a golf course. For instance, if your average score is 88 on a par 72 course, you are given a handicap of 16. In strokeplay, if you play with a person that has a 2 handicap, you are allowed 14 strokes - the difference between your handicaps - extra strokes, one on each of the most difficult 14 holes. In matchplay, the longer handicap player would receive 11 shots - three quarters of the difference. - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...ne;%3A+handicap -

hahah glad to know people feel the same way anyway, i'll try out the platinums tomorrow. i'll need every edge if i want to beat my friend who's a compulsive gambler especially on the course where I play, the fairways are too generous and I'm not a bad iron player -
GO FIND AN INSTRUCTOR that's the BEST BEST BEST thing you can do I didn't take seroius lessons until after I developed a bad swing took me forever to fix my bad habbits my sister only took a few months to get to where my swing is after a year and a half.... i still own her on the course though
-
going back to that 3 foot birdie miss of mine, how does anyone get that mental edge? do they just try to focus harder or is it from missing countless 3 footers? i'm really working towards having that mental edge so I don't 3 putt on the next hole after i miss a 3 footer.... or take 3 shots to get out of bunker cuz i lose my cool..... or push a drive to the other fairway to triple the last hole on a double-bogey-free round... u get the picture

I have a gap wedge too but i was thinking about getting rid of it for a 60 degree lob wedge. my current setup is P(47) Gap(51) Sand(56). I don't use my gap so often, only when I can't afford to hit my P-wedge too far I have decent distance control within like 60 yards but when it gets close to my full swing distance, i need the right club to nail it close. Still, I think it's best to go with a lob wedge and work on P-wedge control

did u hit the course immediately after you smashed 400 balls? i think thats where u made the mistake

before u get REALLY seroius and dedicate a lot of money and time to golf, find a good instructor i think that's the best thing to do for your game -
i don't play a 60degree wedge but I'm looking into buying one soon. i've heard it helps a lot with the short game but i never FULLY understood how... all i know is that it's good for firm conditions when u need very little bounce i've begun to notice that a lob wedge could help at times but i'm gonna wait it out til my game improves and i feel that i really need one

my cousin actually got me a prototype 2-pack way before they fully released it. I had no idea and gave them to my 5 handicap friend..... anyways, has anyone tried out the Nike One Platinum? i bought a 2-pack cuz it looked cool but it's just sitting in my bag. i'm afraid to lose them lol -
i shot my best 5 over on the back 9 last thursday. the front 9 i almost lost 3 balls at the second hole and 3 putted almost every hole.... yea i wasn't ready to play that day but i cooled down towards the middle. what i find very reassuring is the fact that i wasn't satisfied with that score, even though it was my best (i'm still a newbie)... i missed a 3 foot birdie putt on a 220 yard par 3.... best tee shot of my life gone down the drain...

It's funny that u brought this up because this is exactly what I'm working on with my instructor. Right now we're trying to keep my entire body square at setup and my shoulders square at impact. If you watch most players, their shoulders are almost always square at impact. Hips pour on the power, look at Tiger! Anyways, I prefer to keep my left foot flaired out just a little bit towards the target because I'm not so flexible. The rest of my stance is somewhat square. At impact, my shoulders tend to open up too much like almost every amateur but fixing this just takes practice. The golf swing is really a sideblow, according to my coach.

if ur on the right plane, it doesnt really matter how fast u snap it ME, however, wenever i rush it, i always pull it over the top or too much on the inside so it snaps u also have to be square before u bring it down the right swing plane as long as ur game is doing fine, i dont think u should really worry about what the medicus tells u

yea i think that's the setup i'm gonna go for thanks for the advice guys

Overlap vs Interlock vs Baseball Grips
i2!ch replied to mcflynn's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
oh yea i forgot to mention, i wear my gloves out very quickly... not a pretty sight my best guess is my grips... i use the stock corded grips that came with my titleist 704.CB's and i don't find them comfortable at all. I was thinking about getting my clubs fitted and by fitted i mean my lie angle flattened a little and my clubs regripped. but first, i'll try to loosen up and not try to smash the ball every time i think i have subconscious urge to crush the ball that makes me to grip it hard and swing at 110% every time... oh and i'll try using two gloves thing =P -

I use the interlocking grip too but occassionally my skin starts ripping up on the inside of my right pinky. I'm pretty sure it's because of my death grip and I've been trying to fix it but I can't loosen up. My shoulders and hands often get very tense but I cant help it. Any advice? -
oh and check out their website http://www.aldila.com/ pretty sweet stuff and take a look at this: http://www.aldila.com/nanotubes.html

got the NV-65 on my titleist 983K 9.5 haven't tested or tried any other shafts really but everyone i know says they're great shafts my friend has the CG Launcher 9.5 with the Grafalloy blue and he always launches his drives high and a bit short. If i'm not mistaken, flap, the aldila shafts give a low-mid trajectory and i've seen it done: my friend tried my driver and nailed it down the pipe almost 300 yards with a sweet trajectory

Yea i'm looking to replace my 3W and 5W or just 3W if not both my teacher replaced his woods with Akira hybrids and my friend is looking to get rid of his V-steels because he's happy with his hyrbids. i think i didn't consider distance when i posted this which isn't good maybe I should go for your kind of setup iacas, 3 wood and hybrid anyway, i'm going to the range later tonite to test them out some more i'll keep in mind how far i'm hitting them
-
Hi I've been lookin around lately for new woods and I'm stuck with a tough decision. I have to choose between a TaylorMade V-steel and utility club but I can't make up my mind. I've tried them out and I like both of them but I can't choose between the two to replace my old crappy woods that I won't bother to identify. I like the wide look and feel of the V-steel as opposed to the small head of the utility club but the V-steel is a bit harder to hit. I'm leaning towards the V-Steel because someone's willing to sell it to me in good condition for around 50-60 dollars because he prefers his utility clubs and, likewise, i am also interested in what's best for my game. My instructor even switched to utility clubs so I'm stuck in this dilemma. More about me: I practice a LOT- i played at the course like 4 times this past 5 days and I go to the range almost every day I'm not at the course. If I do get the V-steel, I can really work on it if i have to especially since I have all summer
