  1. Play more on the course. As stated in other posts, you are probably getting anxious on the course and are causing tension in your grip and swing causing you to do things you usually do not do which is causing your slice. I think if you play more on the course you will get more comfirtable out there and then swing like you do on the range. Also, at the range you can take several swings with the same club on a perfect lie until you get your swing grooved. When you play on the course you only get one swing with an imperfect lie. Also, on the range you should have a particular target in mind with a width of 30 yards at the max. If you do not hit it within the 30 yards and the selected distance, you did not make a good shot. Here in Korea the ranges are only about 20 yards wide due to space constraints. If you do not hit the ball within this 20 yard width your ball simply hits a side net. You have no idea how far or where your ball would have gone. This has really helped with my accuracy. Unfortunately the fairways are so narrow here I have to be very accurate.
  2. I started counting "One, Two" on my backswing. I felt I was getting over anxious and not taking my time so I began counting on my backswing to slow myself down.
  3. Great advice!! I am not only hitting my driver straighter, I am hitting all my clubs with more accuracy. Thanks
  4. I think days on the range like that can many times be attributed to tempo. Take each shot nice and slow like you are on the course. Sometimes it is useful to just play a hole or two on the range taking only ONE shot with a driver and depending one the distance taking ONE shot with a wood or long iron etc. I think sometimes it is tempting to just whack at balls successively without thinking about what you are doing. Also go back to the basics. I have the following thoughts in my mind when things start to fall apart: - Loose wrists and shoulders (waggle) - Stay centered and balanced over the ball - Inside-Out Swing - Shoulder turn
  5. If you are not getting proper loft, your swing is probably a little too shallow. You need to get your hands up higher so that you can swing down more on the ball. Try visualizing putting your right thumb in your right ear. This may help in getting you on a better angle of attack.
  6. What is flipping?
  7. Some things you may want to think about are: - put your right thumb in your right ear during your backswing (this visual may help you flatten out your swing some), - making a good shoulder turn (this should help you concentrate less on bringing your arms up so high). Otherwise, keep your steep swing and just keep the ball forward in your stance and tee the ball lower.
  8. I can see 2 knukles. Not sure what that means. I went to the range today and find that I am sitting back too long on my right leg and letting my hands get in front of my body at impact. I guess my club head is closing too soon. I think I have to remember to unwind form the ground up as waas mentioned in several of the posts. Thanks for all the input!!!
  9. I have been having some problems with duck/snap hooks off the tee with my driver and I am not sure what causes them. What I usually do is just focus on slowing down my back swing (count one, two) stay centered and balanced and concentrate on an inside-out takeaway. This usually cures the problem after a few swings. My question is does anyone have any idea what the root cause of the duck/snap hook. I am not sure what in my swing is causing it. The ball flight will either start out straight or a little right then go 50 yards left.
  10. Not exactly. If you move the ball back and you are not hitting it fat then you are cured. But I do agree tht if you move the ball back and you are still hitting it fat you are probaly not properly transfering your weight.

    Do you dip?

I like a dip on the course. It relaxes me and I think it improves my swing. Only problem is that it is really hard to get dip in Asia. I don't spit on the greens and usually only in the rough.
  12. Aerobic exercise and stretching are usually the cornerstone of any fitness routine. For golf I think it is important because you will need flexibility for the golf swing and endurence to remain consistent over 18 holes.
  13. Move the ball back in your stance so that you will hit the ball first.
  14. I relax my shoulders, waggle and make sure to have a light grip. Then concentrate on relaxed breathing to release all tension from my body.
  15. They have a lot of fire power and with a solid D, which is key in winning championships, the Boltz will be hard to beat.
  16. I just moved to Korea from the US, and hardly saw anyone playing Mizuno's in the US. However, here in Korea Mizuno is probably one of the top sellers. I was going to get the Callaway X-20's, but tried the Mizuno's because of the popularity in Asia. Wow, what a difference!! The ball feels so pure when hitting the MX-25's that I bought them instead of the X-20's. I think Mizuno golf clubs just are not marketed as well in the US. As for forgiveness, I find the MX-25s pretty forgiving on mishits. Just a little loss in direction and distance.
  17. For your longer irons you may need to move the ball a little more forward in your stance (ie toward your left foot if you are a righty).
  18. The Boltz, LT will be hard to stop again this year.
  19. Not all PGA golfers are athletes, although there are some that are athletes. It is just like not all baseball players are athletes (I've seen some pitchers unbale to adequately go through a simple obstacle course). Some may be able to perform some athletic movements, but I think an athlete has great coordination, balance, endurence, dexterity which would allow them to play almost any sport. I believe a lot of PGA golfers could not compete in other sports very well because although they have mastered and fine tuned their golf swings, they don't have the skills to excell at other sports. Of course some, like Tiger, could have probaly played any sport, but just happend to have more of an interest in golf.
