Haha yea I'd say that's a given. I think I had like 7 or 8 holes where is chipped twice and then 2 putted on top of that. And whenever I hit the green or I got a good chip close enough for up and down I would still have to putt 2 or 3 times. I think most of it was a snow ball effect. Started off rough and it just got in my head and got worse from there. Gotta work on that part of my game too I suppose haha.

Then I retract my troll face retort and hope you accept sincerest apology good sir.

I've noticed this becoming more and more popular....

Anything lower would be a driver haha. But I think that some companies make a 15 degree 3 woods and some make a string 3 thats 14.5 and theres a few that make a strong 3 in a 13.5. -
I'm sensing sarcasm....in which case

I believe some companies actually do make a 13.5 3 wood haha. -

Yea that's always a plus too. I was thinking about getting an R11s 3 wood and just tuning it down to a 16.5 but I just don't think it'd be the same. And I don't know maybe I'm weird. But I can never really seem to find a need for a 3 wood. Maybe it could also be that I don't trust my short game within 100 yards to bother with hitting a 3 wood on the shorter par 4's for a more controlled tee shot and then wedge one on. Maybe once that starts comin around then I can re-assess the woods set up in my bag lol. -
I don't know what to say. I guess first and foremost I need to thank God. Without him I wouldn't have the shotty attention span that I use to post on this forum during Stat 201 lecture. Umm. The state of Tennessee and it's lottery scholarship that helped pay for my laptop. And of course mom and pop. Without them I wouldn't even be here. But most of all. THANK YOU SANDTRAP!! Without your love and support I wouldn't be accepting this award. Y'all drive safe tonight and thanks for comin' out.

And I'm considering making the change as well. Right now my set goes Driver, 18 degree hybrid then 3-pw then 52, 56, 60. I was playing with 15 because I had a 3 wood in that set as well, but we won't discuss why it's no longer in my bag . I'm considering getting a 4 wood and pulling the 18 degree hybrid and not feel like a cheater but still keep all my wedges. I feel like I get enough distance with my driver( anywhere from 285-310) that I don't really ever need to use a 3 wood on par 5's, at least not where I've been playing, and I never really use it off the tee much either. I seemed to use my 18 degree hybrid much more than the 3 wood when I had it. So I'm thinking a 4 wood would be a good trade off to keep good spacing between my driver and my 3 iron. But the big thing is if I do this is that I'm left handed. From what I've seen Titleist and the G series for Ping are the only fairways that come in a 17 degree 4 wood for lefties. Anyone know of any that I haven't found yet or maybe if there's an older model form someone that I've missed as well? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just got back from playing a round and here's how awful my game is. Just shot a 103 with 43 putts and 25 chips. Rough day would be putting it light.
-
Well that first day on the range went great but then took a turn for the worst as I started slicing as bad as I did when I first started playing. But I went to the range with my new R11s driver today and started out a little rough but I feel like I got my swing tuned in more. By the end I was hitting it straighter and more consistently. I had my friend record a few head on videos. The only one I've got at the moment is the one that went straight. I've really been working on the hip sliding and I feel like it's finally coming around. The other 2 videos he hasn't sent me yet but I'll post those as soon as I get them because I hit both with about a 20 or 30 yard fade so hopefully y'all can spot what it is that I did wrong in those videos but right in this one.
-
Only thr R11s goes 1.5 degrees up or down. The others only go 1. Also I'm left handed and while I know I can use a right handed sleeve and just do everything backwards I'd just prefer to have a left handed one for convenience sake if I can.
-
Does anyone know a place where I can find the R11s sleeve? I just bought mine with the stock TP Phenom 65 and I'm thinking about maybe buying some cheaper pulled shafts on e-bay to try and tinker around and see if I can find a shaft that I might like better.
-
And I'll definitely start practicing more with my wedge game at the range if I can keep striking the ball like I am right now haha.

Need help buying mizuno clubs
gordo865 replied to The sandman's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The MP-59's are phenomenal clubs. If I hadn't just bought my Taylormade MC's not but a month ago I would definitely have bought them. Everything about them is just unreal. They look amazing and are so responsive yet they still somehow give more forgiveness than I've seen out of any blade/muscleback/shallow cavity whatever you want to call it. I was hitting a demo at work on our launch monitor and hit one shot that was topped slightly and it went about 184 carry and about 191 after roll (our launch monitor reads irons about 5-10 yards strong for some reason Idk why) then hit another one still not quite perfect contact but solid contact none the less and it went 190 carry and hit the green, stuck and rolled to 193. They're a great club. I've seen several reviews saying they're probably the best players type iron you can get right now and I definitely wouldn't dispute that. Can't go wrong with them. -
The RBZ driver doesn't really many changes from the superfast 2.0 The R11s actually has made some pretty big improvements. One is the technology on the crown where they were able to make it lighter by giving it a thick thin pattern. The head is the full 460 cc as opposed to last years 440 cc and the extra size has helped deliver more forgiveness as well as a cg that's further back and lower. The head is much more aerodynamic and the movable weights for MWT have been shifted closer to the face to help give it even more distance. And then of course the enhanced adjustability of a +or- 1.5 degrees up or down in loft and the additional 2 setting on the sole plate for the face angle.
-
The driver is only projected as being 5 yards further than any other Taylormade driver. The RBZ FAIRWAY is the one that has a hot face and I can assure you it does. The FAIRWAY guarantees 17+ yds over any other 3 wood. Not the driver.

I of course take better steps for alignment when I'm actually playing lol. Yesterday I was just trying to correct what y'all pointed out to me and also my iphone is only an 8gb so as you could imagine I'm constantly fighting to keep some space open so I was trying to be quick as to avoid it running out in the middle of the video.
-
Also I'm curious but obviously I know the standard shafts in the regular R11s aren't the after market quality but in the R11s TP will the shafts that are available have the after market quality? I tried to look through the stock shaft vs. after market shaft thread but it seemed like it was more of a giant argument rather than a discussion.
-
Went to the driving range today and tried out a few of the things you guys had pointed out and I hit them REAL good haha. I was making solid contact and they were flyin straight as an arrow. I made an attempt at doing a front on shot but it's difficult to really record a good video from any angle when you're recording on an iphone and have no one to hold it for you haha. I was killing my irons. The driver hit well but the last couple shots that I hit with it after I stopped recording were pretty ugly.

Can anyone tell me how the RIP Gamma and the Kai'li compare to the RIP Beta and Alpha?
-
Well to sum it all up I had a really crappy slice for a while and it finally disappeared about 4 months ago and now its coming back so I don't really set myself up with easy second shots. I'm extremely inconsistent with my swing in terms of small things (I'm not so sure what they are because to my untrained eye I feel like I'm doing it right aside from the things everyone has been nice enough to point out for me haha) adding up to one big cluster f*** if you didn't notice from the videos so thats one big reason right there. I'm not the best pitch/chipper in the world but I have gotten much better lately (two chip-ins in one round the other day GO ME!!). And my putting is absolutely god awful. I've only really gotten into golf the past year or so. I mean I had played maybe once a summer since I was probably like 5 or 6 but up until recently I had never really practiced at the driving range played golf more than once a year much less 4 or 5 times a month so I'm still I guess getting a feeling for putting and things like that.
-
By the way do you know of any drills to help with that? I have noticed that before but I didn't know what kind of effect it could have on my swing.
-
Do you mean left? Remember I'm left handed now lol. Literally all of these shots cut left.
-
Extreme inconsistency in both videos. My slice has gotten even worse since the time of those last videos. If you watch the last swing at the end of the first video you can see how far my head turns tracking the shot....pretty nasty power fade on that one. I have a shot or two I believe in one of these videos where I completely lose balance and a few where I completely sky the ball. Someone.....tell me what to do.
