  1. 280M. Not sure what that comes out to in Yards but it was a fairly sweet hit. Mind you, i had a tail wind and a downhill slope.

    poll question

I do like the feel of the Nike One's..They just feel good off my club face everytime, no matter how shitly i hit the ball. I also dont mind the Nike Powerflight which is what i play with. I suppose once i start to hit the ball well consistently, forgiveness wont come into play. And the balls i buy will actually begin to affect my game. Atm, my equipment is better than my golf
  3. Hi all, I was just curious to know how many members your home club has tee off over a weekend. I hope this thread hasnt been created before and i hope i put it in the right spot I play at the Gawler/Sandy Creek Golf Course and we usually have around 140 on a Saturday and 30-40 on a Sunday. Its nice and quiet up here which makes it soo good. There is rarely a hold-up and you can practically waltz on whenever you please. Thanks in advance for your responses.
  4. I used to play tennis but i gave it up when i picked up my golf. When i played for a club, it just took up far too much of my weekend. My son would play late on a Friday night to beat the heat and then i would play from around 11 to possibly 5 or 6 depending on how well the team went. That only left Sunday for golf and by the morning, you were stuffed anyway. I have a tennis court at home so i have a hit every now and then anyway and i just decided that Golf was more my game. Needed to buckle down and concentrate on that a little more. Not that it's doing any good
  5. I just like the openess and greeness of a golf course. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting in a rised pro-shop/bar having a beer or two and overlooking the suckers out there that are still playing in the 40degree heat. It is also good to have a challenge and the holes have to be moved around a lot in my opinion. You have to keep the members guessing..
  6. I am usually on my home course once a week. Usually on the weekend but i have been known to get out during the week if i manage to get the day off. Of course, if something important comes up then its quite impossible for me to get out. Like this week, im going away so i wont be able to play. Which is a shame because i have been quite happy with how i have been hitting over the recent weeks. As for the driving range. I dont spend anytime at the driving range which gives me only the real thing to try new things. However, i have quite a large property (enough for a strong PW) so i tend to hit a couple of hundred balls a week. I have holidays coming up for Christmas time so hopefully i can play twice a week at least....
  7. My old man has a cart so most of the time i ride. However, if someone older than me comes out and it's a good friend or what have you, i am quite happy to walk. It gives you a whole different feeling walking to riding. Fatique sets in sometimes on my home course however, you get a lot more time to think about what your doing. Plus, it's a bastard when you have two in the cart and the other person sprays it. Can spend 15 minutes looking for their ball and meanwhile, you forget where you put yours and lose concentration.
  8. Havnt had the pleasure of getting a Hole in One yet. Know a few who have or even have two but not me as yet..Par 3 today it looked as though i came close but you can never really tell unless your standing right next to it. Closest i have been is bouncing, then hitting the pin on the second shot of a long Par 4. Obviously not a Hole in One but it ended up 2 Inches from the cup and it felt good to birdie.
  9. Just got back from my round today. After breaking 100 for the first time last week (95) i had pretty high expectations. Ended up finishing with a 105 (53 front, 52 back) at my home course. Par of 72 so taking off my handicap i was 3 over for the day. It wasnt too bad i suppose..There is always room for improvement with a handicap like this but i was surprised. I didnt feel up to it today and thought i would put myself under too much pressure to repeat last weeks round but i did ok. Kept sitting my putts just on the edge of the lip. Short all day. Thats my excuse anyway
  10. My best round was only last week come to think of it. I ended up with a 95 and the course is a Par 72. 46 on the front and 49 on the back. That was my first time of breaking 100 too so i am with you on how fustrating it can get..With my handicap thats a 7 under which i was pretty happy with. Won the comp for the day so that put me in high spirits for my next round... Just got back from a round today and hit a 105. Stupid mistakes and those putts that just sit on the lip really began to shit me off. Well, that's my excuse anyway.. Good luck with your breaking of 100. Its a bloody good feeling. It's annoying when you cant go out there and do it consistently though :P
  11. Perhaps since women seem to have skinnier, shorter fingers you should try a women's glove. Just a suggestion..
  12. Just to keep it simple. I usually use the centre line of my putter to line up where i want the ball to actually go. And then, i line both feet up square with the clubface and in the closest to where the line is pointing direction.. It seems to work for me, but then again, there is 29strokes difference in our handicaps :P Goodluck.
  13. I didn't actually have an official handicap at the start of 2007. However, as i was just picking up the golf clubs, i was considerably bad. I would be thinking about a 42 or 43 which is obviously maxxed out anyway. Now, i am sitting at a 30.0 however after having a good round last week and hitting 6-under, that should drop further.
  14. Wow. I honestly didnt think there would be much difference. I might have to take one out for a round from my local pro-shop before buying it or something. Just to get a true feel and determine whether it's worth it.
  15. At the moment i just have the standard SW and PW i got with my whole iron set. I suppose it does me alright. I have never tried anything other so i cant really compare it. Im not sure how much difference it will make so i suppose thats something to look into..
