  1. yes, perfect. I guess that explains why I couldn't find anything, ha. thanks a lot!
  2. I'm wondering if anyone knows of something online that explains the various bends of the putter shaft with pros and cons of each? I haven't come up with much using the search function here or google. I just want a better understanding of why putter shafts are bent the way that they are. Thanks
  3. yea, I tried watching what Phil was doing, but couldn't tell what was going on, maybe because he was wearing black or maybe I can't simply watch someone and need them to also put into words with what they're doing. Interesting that you see it as more of a weight transfer, I'll have to take another look.
  4. What I didn't like about Phil's instruction in his DVD is that he barely talks about what to do with your lower body. That's where, I believe Utley's book is pretty valuable because he talks a ton about "pivoting" around the left leg. His ideas have helped me quite a lot in understanding Phil's method as well, because I think he does that too, but for some reason didn't feel the need to talk about it in his DVD. I first watched Phil's DVD this winter and practiced his method, but going his method it seemed like my upper body was all I was using and my legs were rigid, other than some knee bend. This caused me to kind of stab at the ball, which resulted in a lot of blading. I then read Utley's book and it has helped a lot. I think Utley does teach somewhat of a "hinge and hold" method, he calls it "fold, turn, and hold" but for me he gives a far better explanation of all parts of the swing.
  5. received the PBS today, looking forward to trying it out tomorrow at the range. thanks Jeff Evans.
  6. There are some good sellers on ebay that are putting out "certified, preowned" gps units. I'm just wondering if anyone has picked one of these up and if the units are legit? By legit, I mean if you bought one and then went to skycaddie to get started with a subscription would it work or would they accept it? Some auctions for these units go for a pretty low price so I'm interested.
  7. Ok, I received an email saying the order is shipped and I was charged 9.99. I checked my bank account this morning and it says I was charged 19.99. Perhaps the charge is being adjusted and hasn't gone through my bank yet. Thanks.
  8. Quote: shamus, If you order last night you received a $10 discount will be shipping out this morning. Have a joyful weekend. Jeff Evans I did not receive a $10 discount, unless the regular price on this product is now $30. Like I said, I didn't read the whole thread before ordering so I didn't say I was a TST member. That's ok, if I receive the PBS in a timely manner I'll be satisfied.
  9. well, I feel like an idiot. I ordered this tonight without reading the whole thread, but now I see Mr. Evans is posting/operating again. I hope I receive my product Mr. Evans.
  10. So, I've decided to go with the iron fitting. My only worry is that I've recently taken a lesson and I'm making some adjustments to my swing. Should I wait to get the fitting since I haven't quite grooved this swing yet? The changes are relatively minor. I haven't changed my setup or address it's more due to my position at the top/plane on my backswing. I was taking the club back flat on the backswing, but somehow managed to get back on plane in the downswing.
  11. All good points, thanks for the advice. Thing is, I'm not really in the market for new irons right now, but I'm assuming they could adjust my existing set, right? I've had the same irons since 2005 Cleveland CG 4.
  12. Which do you feel is more important? I received a coupon to get a free iron or driver fitting ($150 value) from a reputable local club maker and I'm trying to decide which one I should get. I realize that making this decision probably has more to do with the individual player, but I'm pretty comfortable with my irons (which aren't fitted too me). I've also gotten a lot better with my driver this winter, but I've always struggled with distance and accuracy off the tee and I've had the same driver for 4+ years. What do you think?
  13. FWIW, my recently purchased Winn Excel grips say to NOT use detergent and a brush. Only clean with a soft cloth and a small amount of water.
  14. I'm thinking about purchasing the X6 Groove Sharpener, but have some concerns about groove sharpening in general. Have any of you had issues with rusting after sharpening your grooves? I would think that this tool would take off the finish inside the grooves and cause some rust problems. Specifically with the Cleveland Black Pearl/Gun metal finish wedges, which are already prone to rusting. I have 2 of these wedges and while mine are still in good condition/rust free after 6 years I'm concerned that groove sharpening would really open these wedges up for rust.
