  1. I would play Pro V's all the time, if they were half the price.
  2. Yep..and much less than the DGXP S300 (what I "was" using) at 117g.
  3. Have you guys read the latest Titleist ProV1 magazine ad. They are now made for everyone's game for the low handicapper to the high handicapper as the ball will compress the same way, regardless of swingspeed. I'm just the messenger.. see for yourself. Double-click on the picture to read the ad. I've been playing the Srizon Soft Feel and they feel just as good..seriously To me it has to feel good..regardless of distance.
  4. As others have said, Callaway has fantastic customer service..give them a call.
  5. Thanks, yes..it seems the stiff is less stiff than the DG XP S300 (using Mizuno MX 300)..which is what I want. I haven't gone to the range yet (going after work), but from swinging it yesterday and waggling it, it feels more flexible than the XP S300 for sure..and lighter too..which was my main reason..can't wait to give them a go.
  6. Is this the flex indicator..stiff? In some other pictures I've seen the "R" right underneath the "950GH"..this doesn't have it. I would think it would have "S" there.
  7. For me, the putter holds more value..it's like your right hand man..ace in the hole. I have a few Scotty Camerons, to be honest. I rotate between them.. GaiJin, didn't see it..but see you are playing with the NEW JPX 825? wow.
  8. Just curious if anyone swapped out for this shaft? I just had a couple reshafted to test out tomorrow. I thought they were regular but looks like perhaps stiff. It's hard to tell the flex..it looks like an "S" but cannot tell..but it feels like a regular too..more whippy.
  9. Just bought a dozen today..for some reason, according to the golf salesman, they were selling like hotcakes. There are 2 dozen left..should I go buy the rest? Never tried them, but he said they are in-between the NXT and PV1. If they are as soft as the Srixon Soft Feel, perhaps I should buy the remaining 2 dozen. They were going for $19.99/doz. They look cool though with that pearl-lescent shine.
  10. The Srixon Soft Feel is a very under-rated ball at a great price.
  11. ..wonder how that plays..seriously..I bet it feels soft still.
  12. eh..went to Michael's and bought a paint pen..ugh..no good..it looked like my ball had a big blotch of white out on it..lol
  13. I guess if I did this during play, but don't see that happening. As far as ball refinishing goes, haven't you seen all the re-furb balls at the store and Ebay.. My question is if anybody here has tried it..
  14. Perhaps it's the sign of the economy, but I was going through my "used" golf balls (i.e. scuff marks, etc.) and was considering touching them up and repainting them. I play with a Srixon Soft Feel and as an experiment took some fine grade sand paper and swiped away at a scuff mark. It easily came off but left a raw, dull, spot where the scuff mark was, obviously. Now, I am looking into buying a paint pen (probably at your art store) and going over this area in white. I guess if I wanted to get real fancy would be to spray a clear seal over it. Krylon has a paint called Krylon Fusion which is made for plastics, but I don't think I'll need a spray can and I don't want to paint the whole ball either. As soon as I start I'll post some pictures. But curious, has anyone tried this?

Again, it's a matter of discipline, but a lot of guys would rationalize as follows: "Well, I hit split the middle with that 5-iron pretty good, surely I can get on the green somewhere with a 6-iron..." For you and me, more than likely, but I've noticed that the really good players are almost always going for the hole and rarely leave it short. That four footer coming back doesn't seem to bother them. Me? Heck, I've lagged 10 foot birdie putts just because I was so excited about the prospect of making par. I'm not disparaging your strategy. It is really very sound. I'm just saying you may find it harder to actually follow than you think. Good luck and let us know how it turns out in actual practice. It turning out quite nice as I've been breaking 90 for the the last 3 rounds (less the last round I played..first time at an unknown course). When I get to the green, I'm not lagging..my intention is to hole out every time or get close to a tap in.
  16. I average 50% FW's hit and 23% GIR's..not great but usually in the mid 80's somewhere. My short game and putting is what usually saves me during the round.
  17. Guess it depends on what type of swing you have..for me I use a 58..but it doesn't stop but trickle.
  18. I've been working on: 1. Keeping my weight on the inside right leg on the back swing 2. Full turn 3. Letting my clubs "rest" on my right arm and keeping the elbow close to body and keeping everything "attached". Goal: To break 80 by the end of this year or by early next.
  19. I had the same exact "problem" as you..de-lofting of the driver. I changed to a 12 degree driver which does help (but, I figured it out and went back to my 10.5) I also noticed that when I made my driving stance wider (compared to narrow) that helped me hit up on the ball also. Main thing is to remember to stay behind the ball with weight forward at impact. Are you teeing the ball high enough also?
  20. Yes, I sent it back and they sent me a brand new one (sealed in plastic and everything), great customer service at Leupold. They said probably some faulty transistor or blah..blah..blah..anyway, send it back and they should hook you up with a NEW one. Took about 2 weeks though :( The new one works perfect and BRIGHT battery LED display. *ALSO - If your diopter, eyepiece, is blurry you just turn the eyepiece and it will focus to whatever range you want to focus on. Just work it side to side and it should loosen up. It feels like your turning a smooth microscope adjustment knob..very nice.
  21. I feel like I'm getting closer (to a the 70's)..let's get to the ugly stuff, first. I hit 2 balls into the water (tried to go for flag..dummy), one triple (tried to cut the corner on a dogleg left..dummy) and a 3-putt (it was a brain fart..a tap in that went left..gotta count it..and dumb), but still managed to finish with an 88. At one streak in the round, I got a birdie and followed that by 3 pars..but then hit a double, double, and triple. I feel if I hit a few more GIRS and reduce the doubles to bogeys (I had 5..perhaps these were the GIR's I needed to hit..lol) I should be able to break 80. My last three rounds have been 85, 87, 88. This has been the longest stretch of where I've been hitting in the 80's
  22. Common theory says to place them in the center or just left of center (righty) and hit it like an iron, BUT for me too, I pay it more forward sweep it..it might not be "correct" but I get much more control and distance this way..at least for me.
  23. I'm a big fan of the Sharpie..does wonders..check these out
  24. I also hit my hybrids higher than my irons and I don't have to be on the button to do so.
