Should I have different wedges in my bag?
Maverick replied to Jakester23's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Similar predicament before..I just kept everything uniform..I went, after the GW, to a 54 and 58 deg wedge. I use to be like you with a 56/60 setup..but I can just open up the 54 and 58 if need be. -
Perhaps I'm playing more golf than before, which I am, but my arms and elbows have been very sore after I play which last for a few days. I'm thinking the shafts I play might have something to do with it (XP S300). Would I get some benefit, physically, from switching to graphite? I'm not worried about swing speed, just perhaps something that might be easier on my arms and elbows..

Check out Craigslist in your area.

The feeling of being in the "slot"..
Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Not to dwell on my own thread, BUT I think I've found it..I hit 9 GIR's today and stuck with this "resting" slot or whatever it is called. It felt so goooood. I FINALLY broke 90 at this one course that was just eating me at the bits..always ended up shooting, 90..91..shot an 85 today..and that's with 2 lost balls. (I also brought out my Titlest 905R/10.5..ahem..and was getting a tad more distance than my Mizuno 12 degree. I was hitting ALOT of 8-iron or 9-iron approaches..which always makes this game ALOT more fun). -
False sense of really getting to the 70's?
Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Yeah, my up and downs are not that great..I'm not really tracking those yet as I am not getting the GIRs as much as I'd like..perhaps I should though. I'm not worried too much about the short game as I'm confident that I will get in the hole, when I'm on, in 2 putts or less. -

I doubt it..just one of those obnoxiously expensive ultra high end products for the japanese golf market. -
..what golf equipment/item/etc would you love to try/get? I'm happy with everything I have..but would love to try these: Mizuno MP-8 golf balls (at $85/doz..*cough*)

Why not oversize (mid-size) muscle-backs?
Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Think ALOT of people would love to try a MB, just that the head size is so darn small and opposing. -
Keeping my upper body "calm" throughout swing.

Looks like the bullies are out in full force on the forum
Maverick replied to Jon Robert's topic in The Grill Room
I agree. The best way to deal with nuisances is to just ignore them and they go away. What amazes me is when there is some ridiculous post and then it get entertained for 30+ pages and the OP hasn't been around to entertain them since the it's inception..now that is funny. Stick around JR..you bring fresh air in here. -

Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
If weight was the issue, why not then just put it on a graphite shaft? A UST Mamiya graphite iron shaft in a stiff is 95g. A extra-stiff (X) from GD Tour AD graphite iron shaft is 109g. I understand the talk that a smaller blade is more workable, cuts through the grass better, smaller top line, looks better and all the pro's of the classic MB. Obviously, a OS muscleback won't be able to match it like it's "classic" brother. It's going to be a GI club but with "some" of the benefits of it's almighty classic MB brother. I play with the MX-200 and its a fairly big head..but if these OS MB's were as big..that would not bother me at all. I say it's more of a comparison like a Porsche 911 to a Porsche Panamera. -
Even our credit card representative was saying that the crooks are just getting more and more advanced..my sob story didn't phase her..just the norm, unfortunately, now a days. I'm sure there are others here that this hasn't happened too..yet. The first time it happened I felt somewhat violated..lol..so pissed..now, this being the third time, I just chalk it off and just deal with the outcome. I'm curious at what "new" technology the credit card companies are trying to develop to thwart off this fraudsters.

absolutely, one of my last swing thoughts is to keep the hands forward. -
..the fraudulent charge is not the problem, it's the hassle of notifying all the other companies/utilities you may be using as a direct pay..at least this has been my biggest PITA.

wow..fantastic..the only difficult thing I have in accepting this is that it feels somewhat shallow, but the consistency and contact is what sells it to me. I've had a "problem" last few rounds of hitting my mid-irons (6 iron) with confidence and consistency. Yesterday, just keeping this thought and sticking to it allowed me to hit perfect 6 irons all day..and actually I was hitting it to far (or correct)..but needless to say..excited..and looking forward to my next round. -
..perhaps WIRED ?

Hmm..do you mean for reviews or actually making online purchases? For reviews GIZMODO has been popular, for purchases I usually check out NewEgg or TigerDirect ..but Amazon seems to be able to get good at pricing now than ever.
-
I'm very good when it comes to online purchases and never buy from places that are not legit or well established. The last three times the perpetrators have been making purchases out of North Carolina, Georgia and just yesterday Pennsylvania..states that I have never been in or visited..I live in California. The credit card representative said that CA is the largest "market" for the credit card fraudsters to take a bite out of.

Yea, I've been a fan/infatuated with Mizzy's since I started playing..I won't go into it as you and I know their quality and feel. I just replaced my Mizzy 3W with a 17 deg. CLK also..you're right, I picked it up from Ebay for $29, shipped. My 12 deg. JPX 800 is so much fun to play with..and usually straight and in the FW or just off it. I highly recommend more loft for those of us who do not have the fastest swing speeds..or would rather swing in control and be just as far. I play with a couple other buddies and they are using a 10.5 and 9.5..we're about the same index. They look to be swinging pretty fast and actually seem like they blew by my ball..but in the end..we're in the same distance. Another reason I opted for a higher lofted driver was that I tended to hit the driver very shallow and the ball was just not getting as high as I wanted..or expected. -
I just got a call from my credit card company (BOA) that my AMEX credit card got swindled again and they are closing down the account and issuing me another new AMEX. This has been the THIRD time this has happened this year. I've spoken with their fraud department and they said that on all three occasions the perpetrators never had my physical card but buy multiple numbers from various sources and then encode their own card. These fraudulent purchases have always been at a Walmart, Rite Aid, CVS. They also say that when perpetrators try to randomize numbers, but they get "close" to the actual number, the credit card will also cancel itself..which was re-assuring. I'm wondering as we are making online purchases more as a soceity than going out to an actual store, somehow, our numbers get more exposed on the 'net..? Does this seem excessive or have you guys experienced as many occasions of having your credit cards re-issued? The biggest pain has been calling my various utilities and other companies to update them on the "new" card.
