After years of playing this game I think I'm seeing the true advantages of a full turn (shoulders) on the back swing. I used to turn my back swing only to a point and then the arms would take control of the back swing. This was due, personally, because I felt like I was getting detached if I turned my shoulders further. It worked for the most part and I hit good shots, for the most part, the distance was fine but I felt like A LOT of effort was being placed on my arms..and they did feel very tired at the end of the round/next day. Recently, I started having this major pain in my left forearm muscle (it's gone now..phew), so I worked on making more of a shoulder turn. To my surprise, I noticed that the driver had a little more kick at the top of the trajectory. Most times, pre-full shoulder turn, the trajectory of the drive would go up and then come down. NOW, I see that it goes up..and then a little extra something..before it starts coming down. Does this sound like I'm on the right track of discovery?

It already feels better, just a tad sore..yes, I'll ice it tonight. I agree, going to lay off of it for a bit but better safe than sorry.

I was playing last week (Sunday) when on the 15th hole, par 5, right after I made contact (driver) I felt a pinch in my left arm. It's that muscle that forms between the top forearm and tricep. It got very sore and I managed to finish the round. It got better the next day and everyday after that and was feeling perfect, normal today..until today, Thursday, when I took that first drive again and felt the same pinch. However, it wasn't as bad and I was able to finish the round..but arm is sore again (but much less than the first time)and have been using a compression sleeve. It's not like I started playing right..been playing everyweek..just all of a sudden. Anybody else been through this? I plan on laying off of golf for a week to see....

Quote: shaft sticking straight up in the air like you're holding an umbrella in your hands. Wow, I was kind feeling the same thing also when..that when I "felt" I was doing it correctly/better it felt I was holding it straight up into the air. What do you think about how I'm "cupping" my wrist? I'm going to try to implement like my right hand is holding a tray (at the top), which seems to flatten my left wrist alot more..or is this part not that important?

I've been Playing Golf for: 20 years (off and on, concurrent) My current handicap index or average score is: 19 My typical ball flight is: Straight/Fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: My iron points to the right at the top of backswing. One thing, if anything, I'd like to get rid of the way my iron points to the right at the top of my backswing. Any help would be appreciated. Videos:

13 degree driver for a shallow swingers?
Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The science is there..just played with a buddy of mine..decent player..playing with the older TM R7. I hit my 13 degree with smooth swing..launch was high but it was just floating up there. He got up and cranked his drive..which appeared to be a stronger lower trajectory..but in the end we were side by side. It is flat out easier to swing this 13 than my 10.5, less effort and just as far and a better tendency to stay straight. The misses are alot more tolerable too than missing bad with a 10.5. -
13 degree driver for a shallow swingers?
Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have to say I am getting the desired trajectory with the 13 deg. driver as well. My swing speed is 90 mph and it just seems like the ball just floats. I played with a 7 index player last week. He was using a 9.5 driver and I was just about as long as he was. I really enjoying that I don't have to swing out of my shoes and it is going pretty straight each time. -
I like that swing..seems so accurate..it seems everything just rests on that right arm..pretty.

I currently play with a driver that has 10.5 deg. of loft (Mizuno MP-600 NVS 65-R shaft). The problem is my swing is shallow going through the ball and thus I really end up de-lofting the club. I get decent distance out of it, but I'd like to get the "true" intended trajectory with it (higher). I know many say to swing up, but my swing works for me..even if the trajectory is lower...at least it rolls a ton. I'm debating going to a 13 deg. loft driver just because of this reason. I can keep the same "flat" swing, but get added loft. What do you guys think? Shouldn't the added loft also keep the ball more straight also? (but I hit it straight anyway for the most part) I'm not one who is trying to pound the ball into tomorrow. I am a conservative player and just want to get the ball out there much more consistently.

ah, I see what you mean..well this one isn't necessarily a waterfall, but I like how you captured this shot bringing the front and back together: -

Need help hitting thin from sand! X(
Maverick replied to Maverick's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Good advice..I have no problem with accelerating..trust me..I commit fully..it's the aiming part..lol -
It's when I start getting too comfortable and start crouching the ball. I like to position the ball, at set-up, just a half ball length outside of center. If it's not helping, adjust more outside of center. Eventually, you'll be back on track.

"Well, unless you are subconsciously trying to pick it clean because you think the bounce is low and its going to get stuck in the sand." think this is the problem too..just need to start thinking fat.
