Playing a wrong ball from a hazard is now a two stroke penalty because now you are allowed to lift that ball to determine if it is yours or not so hitting wrong ball penalty makes sense because you had the opportunity to look. Also remember Jeff Maggert's 2 shot penalty for hitting himself with bunker shot on the 3rd. hole of 2003 Masters?M.Weir won and thank god not by a shot or 2 over J.M.?anyways.....that is now only a '1' shot penalty.

I think hitting impulse means the actual contact point.If you hit a wall your hand isn't going further,it is actually stopping.Make sense?Means he is not hitting 'through the ball'.

You have some excellent observations here.My feeling is that if you want to really play this game you must put in the time and effort on your OWN to solve golfs' many puzzles. Instruction is valuable to a point but like many other sports if you don't work at improving you won't.There is nothing wrong with playing a game for the fun of it.I love tennis but I am never going to improve because I play it for exercise only.

The impulse disappeared because you used a 3/4 swing on your practice as well as your "real"? swing.Put it this way..how often off line do you hit from 100 yds. out? Try hitting driver 150yds. I bet you start hitting a lot more fairways.

Have you hit the Cleveland C.G. series? I bought C.G.2's last June after playing Titleist irons for 20 years or so and can honestly say that the C.G.'s are the CLOSEST thing I can compare Titleist to.I tried 4 different companys' irons and bought the best,FOR ME,.Doesn't hurt to try them

I agree with both of you.Only thing that I see is the chance of Tim Herron,Steve Lowery,and other not so fit players being asked to test is way down the scale compared to C.V. and a few others. The Tour says they will test in 2008 and I think they will be 'targeting certain players most likely to ELIMINATE them'.I know I am not alone in wondering if Gary Player is right,who is he referring to.
