  1. Hope everyone can see the full screen--its chopped off on mine unless you go the the Youtube site. I have to do a little research and see where the 16th is in relation to other holes and the tower with this camera was. The shot could have been one on a closer to the camera hole and just looks weird. And agreed, sometimes a bug or something close to the camera really fools the eye.

  3. I guess because I have tried so many methods to cure this bane that had demoralized me to point I was thinking of giving up the game, I wonder if there is something here that can help others . The thing I was trying right before this was something called EFT or emotional freedom technique and it involved "tapping" on pressure points on the body and repeating re-assuring phrases--try working that into your Saturday foursome. The day I first tried this Eagle method, I was very skeptical, but it worked immediately and has held up in spots where I would have surely melted down (club championship matches). I am hoping it can renew the game of others. I have searched the web and lots of books but have never seen any stance quite like it. Michelle Wie's back is straighter and parallel with the ground, but she doesn't have her elbows out, and I think that is one of the keys to this. Thanks for looking and I am glad you have a grip on your yips!
  4. Try this method--I have yipped for 20 years and it has worked wonders for me!
  5. I am 63 and have dealt with the yips for 20 years. Tried many different putters, stances, dots on the club handle, closing the eyes, looking at the hole, belly putter etc. A friend's instructor showed him this and he passed it along to me. For a while I forgot about it, and then in the middle of one really nasty yipping round, I said what the heck and that was 4 months ago and it has worked like a charm ever since. Give it a real try if you yip and let me know what you think!
  6. I am so glad the PGA has basically told the USGA and RNA that they should reconsider the ban. The next 3 years should be pretty interesting.
  7. Kvuo, one note on the bright side--I have been playing since I was in my 20's and I'm 63 (almost) and hit the ball just about as good as I ever did. I am able to sense when I am getting off track and how to correct it. Only given up about 5% of my distance at this stage, so you have a long way to go yet. My injury came when I hit a root hidden slightly underground. If I would have seen it, I would never have tried to hit off it and I advise anyone anywhere around a tree to check the ground under a ball and thump with an iron to see what's going on to make sure. This is the fastest way to screw up either your hands, wrists, ribs, back and who knows what else. I had to lay off 3 weeks. The first two I thought I would never heal but then things happened quick. It still hurt a little for a week or two when I hit iron shots, they produce much more shock, especially punch shots and wedges. Good luck, you will get past this.
  8. A 74 at 6084 par 71 layout. One double bogey marred round. Key to score was a new 5 hybrid, 26 degree that I used to replace 5 and 6 irons, or 155 to 170 yards. Hit it 7 times in round with only one dud going badly off line. Its a Nickent-- I tried a cheap 5h off ebay--a Pinemeadow Excel that was very inconsistent; what do you expect for $ 30 new? Also was putting great with belly putter which later in the year I started yipping despite being anchored. I now use a standard length Rife 2 bar and at the moment I am yipless.
  9. I was taking the possible rule change hard--and it is by no means a sure thing that it will change--but my putting was shaky even with the belly putter. Went back to my short one--an old Titliest Dead Center model and it felt pretty good. Bought a used Rife Two Bar and really liking it. At least I know if the rule does change, its not the end of my golfing world.
  10. Have golf video games made the game so easy that if people can't play as well in real life then they want to create equipment and methods that can make them better without the challenges that traditional golf offers? Ha! I'm an older guy and have never liked video games, none of them accurately represent the real thing, and the only one I ever spent much time with (Doom) dried my eyes out from not blinking enough! I just have the viewpoint that the tptb given the body of history already written into the record books and in the spirit of inclusion rather than exclusion of a technique that doesn't quite make everyone light torches in anger.
  11. Whew--that looks pretty weird and not keeping to the traditions of the stroke and grip, hey here's an idea, let's also ban that while we're banning the "unorthodox" anchored stroke.
  12. I earlier asked what other precedent where something in golf that has been accepted for long term (not like the Sam Snead croquet stroke) was banned and the example of square grooves was brought up. I should have framed the question on a usage basis, not an equipment one. This decision would have much more profound effect on thousands of golfers who would consider giving up the game rather than go back to uncontrollably stabbing at the ball. It ran Ben Hogan out of the game, Johnny Miller also. I would love everyone on this forum who is in favor of banning the stroke to truly experience full blown yips--not choking over a 3 footer to win a bet, but not being able to get anywhere near the hole while you are practicing by yourself--with no pressure except when will your right hand will jump like you have tourettes syndrome. I think with that perspective, opinions might differ how a stroke that has been widely commonplace for many years should be regarded. I predict again that the ruling bodies will decide to stay with a long accepted style of putting that will help to continue to grow the popularity of the game and longevity of everyone who plays it.
  13. As one of the 11, I was amused listening Natalie trying to engae Yani Tseng in conversation for the sake of the mic--you would have thought we were at war with Taiwan.
  14. My thinking that in the attempt to grow the game at all levels, with a stroke accepted in play for so long, the ruling bodies will not want to discourage anyone this will effect--namely the legions of yipping bastards that try to play this game into their senior years--of which I am a proud member!
