  1. I found my clubs by talking to the Pro where I golf. He knows me and my game (game being a very generous term for what I do on the course! ). Once he and I worked out what would be best for me and my current state of development, we found a used set. At first I was put off by the idea of used clubs, but seeing as how hopefully these will be temporary, until I develop more, it made sense to me to spend $130.00 for a set that were in really good shape versus spending close to $600.00 for a New set.
  2. I try to focus on a spot on the ball, but often I don't, and when I don't there is no telling where the ball will end up!
  3. Being a 'newbie' I have found that a pre-swing routine essential. I have not yet reached the point where it is all just natural to me and I find I need to run through a mental check list, and a physical check list before each shot. If I don't go through my routine, and just hit it 'from the hip' so to speak, I hook like mad...
  4. Being very new to the sport, I am working on 'keeping it in play'. At this point I am not focusing on distance, but more on making it straight. I have my more them my share of topped balls, hooks and slices. As of this moment, I would be happy to hit it straight down the fairway, even if it were only 100 yards.
  5. I agree with Ernest Jones. I am out there for myself, and not anyone else. Yes, I suck at golf, but I do enjoy it..... as bad as I do, I would rather be there then working.
  6. Being very new to to Golf, I try to just keep it in play, and the short irons are my best chance at that... so yes, I have used short irons off the tee. Hopefully someday I can 'grow up' and use the driver :)

I was in my back yard working on my swing, when my neighbor started talking to me. He was telling me that him and his father and started golfing recently and went on to tell me how one day recently he did great and then, later, it all went down hill. I told him, ' Do you know what that is called?'....... 'golf'.... :)
  8. I lived for 17 years in Moreno Valley.. from 1986 to 2003. During my time there I saw many, many changes. I am sure it has changed very much since I was last there.
  9. I have had a set of golf clubs in storage for over 15 years, and finally decided to get them out, dust them off and see what I can do. Back when I first got those clubs I had tried to teach myself golf and that was a disaster! This time around I have taken some lessons, and have a few more lessons to go, and so far, so good. I am here to listen and learn from other golfers, and hopefully someday be able contribute something useful to the group.
  10. I'm in sales. Spend most of my day in my car wishing I was golfing.
