  1. Sorry about the poor editing. I didn't notice until it was too late, haha. "Tiger's body is basically deteriorating ." "Unless Tiger makes the sacrifice of time to rest and to get truly healthy we might as well get used to seeing this."
  2. There is way too much attention being paid to coaches in general. Somehow when it comes to Justin Rose's nearly-flawless swing Sean Foley is a great coach, but when Tiger is concerned his teaching philosophy is trash. The reality of the situation is that Foley is working with what Tiger can physically bring to the table right now. Tiger's body is basically. He's constantly playing at 50-80% health and the PGA is way too good these days for anyone to win that way. Over the years trying to compensate for numerous knee issues eventually led to his achilles. Trying to maintain his length while compensating for his deteriorating knees and the achilles has led to his back issues. This is not rocket science. His range of motion is lacking, his back is f-ed, and his confidence isn't anywhere near what it once was. The only thing I agree with Chamblee on is how Tiger's timing has to be perfect on every swing because he doesn't know what to expect from his body. Butch's teaching didn't cause the first knee issue, Haney didn't cause the second knee issue or the achillies, and Tiger's back isn't because of Foley. Unless Tiger makes the sacrifice of time to rest and to get truly we might as well get used to seeing this.
  3. Who knows what forced Johnson to face this (whether it was his family, the Tour, Adidas/TaylorMade, or himself) but huge kudos to DJ and his team for the way they are handling the situation. Make a statement, handle your business privately, and get back as soon as possible. This is exactly how Tiger should've handled his situation and his team (Steinberg, etc.) should've been fired a long time ago for the horrible advice they gave him. The public and the media are not owed anything. Get better, get your life together, and get back to work when you're ready.
  4. It's pretty obvious that Chamblee takes great pleasure in denegrating Tiger whenever the opportunity arises. Whether is his personal life, his attitude, his swing, his coach whatever, Chamblee will find the negative and will harp on it. What annoys genuine Tiger fans (like me) is that no one else gets the same scrutiny. Chamblee lives in the negative when it comes to Tiger and he ignores anything remotely positive. Chamblee can't speak positively of Nike Golf regardless of how many wins the company has under its belt. And even though Justin Rose's swing is almost flawless he'll never credit Sean Foley as a coach. The list goes on and on. Lastly, I also don't understand why people who know better keep talking about Tiger's swing changes as if he just decided to change it out of the blue. With the exception of Tiger's very first swing change with Butch Harmon every other change has been in response to, or to prevent, injury. He he changed under Haney because his knee wasn't holding up under the Harmon swing. He switched to Foley after the scandal because of the fallout with Haney, but also because of achilles and knee injuries.
  5. This is a undoubtedly a great move for Sonders in the short term (even moreso for her bank account) but golf seems doomed to fail on Fox. Producing baseball and football is much different than golf and if this doesn't work out Sonders will likely be back on TGC when her contract is up. She was way too fake for my taste so I was never a fan of hers but regardless, TGC was foolish not to pay Sonder whatever she was asking for. She was invaluable to that network and the ratings are going to crater for every show she was on. She always played the roll of the 15 handicapper but Sonders knows the golf swing. Paige Mackenzie is a FAR superior golfer to Sonders but viewers really don't care about any of that. Sonders' skirts were always short and her breasts were always front and center. Sex sells and that's what she was utlimately there to do.
  6. On another note, this article really proves just how pathetic golf journalism is. This is not reporting. This is not journalism. This is a complete joke. Hawkins (clearly prodded by this thread imo) asks one guy he feels "should know", he gets a shotty half-answer, and then he goes on to you write an article posed as a question as if the real answers are completely unknowable. The guy treats this as if Anthony Kim is living in some distant land, unreachable by any human life form. Turns out the AK is living in......wait for it......Texas! My absolute favorite part is when Hawkins basically leaves it up to his "source" to meet up with AK in a few weeks and get back to him with an update. That's just hilarious. Get on a plane, use your car, follow the story and do some real journalism work. These guys are way to comfortable getting paid handsomely to attend dinners at golf charity events and asking Tour pros questions they already know the answer to. How can golf grow the game and make it more intriguing to more folks? How about you follow stories like this that are actually interesting.
  7. Well..............that's depressing... How many of us would kill to have even a sliver of Kim's talent? It's a damn shame.
  8. 1. Adam Scott (aka Tiger circa 2000) 2. Seung-Yul Noh 3. Rory
  9. I completely agree. Some people have a bias against playing Nike clubs for some reason, but their woods and putters are second to none. I've bought and sold a few drivers over the years (Titleist 909, Nike VR Pro) when I was looking to "upgrade" from my old Nike SQ 5000, but I hadn't found anything I liked more than the SQ until the Covert came out. I hit the tour version and hated it, but the standard/performance is a great club. I'm using the stock Kuro Kage stiff shaft in the neutral setting and upped the loft from my usual 10.5 to 11.5. I haven't tried all the newest 2014 clubs yet, but the Covert is more forgiving, longer and straighter than any driver I've hit recently. And not to mention that fact that it's very affordable. I'm not one to spend $300 on a driver.
  10. I just wish we could get some real reporting on golfers like AK. Maybe a segment on Jimmy Roberts' show or something. The Golf Channel tried to promote those ridiculous reality shows a few years back but they refuse to report on someone as talented (and possibly tormented) as Anthony Kim has been over the last few years. And it's not like the guy didn't have a pretty large following.
  11. Has anyone else had to replace their brake line on a Clicgear cart? I tried to force the brake the other day and snapped the cord. Does anyone have any guidance they could give me or know of a video tutorial out there anywhere?
  12. It seems pretty obvious but I guess it's just me. Not the first time and it certainly won't be the last.
  13. I'm a fan and I actually appreciate the way he handles himself on the course. He treats his caddie like $hit, but golf actually needs more of the emotion and passion people like Tiger and Bubba bring to the game, not less. Hell, you hear more emotion on any given Saturday coming from 30 handicappers missing 20 foot putts, but people act offended when the pros expect themselves to play well. All that being said...if I hear one more commentator say, "he's never had a golf lesson in his life" I might pluck my eyeballs out of my head. He was on the UGA golf team. OF COURSE he's had a lesson.
  14. Is it just me or do networks cut the microphones for some golfers right after they strike the ball and not for others. There are definite exceptions (Bubba has been caught more than once, although not recently) but it seems pretty obvious to me. Phil gets the same treatment and he handles it quite well, but it makes it seem as though Tiger is the only guy on tour that swears. And yes, I'm a huge Tiger fan...
