Does anyone know whatever happened to Stephanie Sparks, the redhead who was on a couple of the Big Break series ?

I don't thing you would go wrong with a TM,Ping, or Callaway.

I've tracked MeWe's driving in the LPGA events. She is probably in the top 10% in terms of distance - but she is not the longest for certain. Two years ago, when she played Brittney Lincicome (sp) in match play, BP was FLYING it past MeWe....on the way to kicking her tail big time. Face it guys, she is no longer the (a) youngest, (b) longest, or (c) most talented femail player out there. She is more akin to the bearded lady or the sword swallower that a professioinal golfer. She will NEVER win !

Burner Hybrids are by far the best Hybrids I have used. I tend to have a swing that is well adapted to fw woods (i am a 'sweeper"), and these clubs respond very well to that. I do find them to be workable a well.

Zeke, You are likely to get lots of advice on your question. There is a contingent of people on this forum who seem to advocate playing with clubs that make the game harder that it has to be (see the threads re: playing cavity backs, comments regarding wanting to "feel it" when they mishit the ball, etc). Personally, I play golf witht he intent to improve and shoot lower scores - and for me that means taking advantage of whatever legal means of game inprovement are available. Having established that, here is my advice: (1) Go to a golf store or golf shop and hit several different types of clubs,including some regular flex shafts and stiff flex shafts. The folks at the shop can help you establish which flex osm for you - however, there is no reason to think that a stiff shaft is not appropriate for a beginner. (2) I think you should expect to play with some form of game improvement clubs for a while. Ive been playing golf for 15 years, and have played 8 different sets of irons (yes, I change a lot). After using "players" clubs for the last 3 years, I recently switched back to clubs with some game improvement characteristics. Since doing that, I have played better than I ever have - breaking 80 twice in the last month (which is a big deal for me, as I am a 9.7 handicap). (3) Dont be afraid of, or reluctant to use hybrids. I watched practically every pro at teh WGC event this weekend use some form of hybrid - so you know that there is something there worth taking advantage of. (4) Finally, play whatever clubs allow you to enjoy the game most - and if you define enjoyment as scoring lower, then use the clubs that allow you to do that. If you are looking to purchase a set to "try out", I highly recommend a used set on ebay. That allows you to try some clubs at a lower price - and if they do not work for you, you can easily resell them for close to what you paid for them. Good luck, SS

I play 3,4, and 5 Burner hybrid - and find them all very workable. Ive tried about ten different hybrids, I and there are,for me, the very best..

I am a TM fan myself, and have played all 3 clubs. I still have the SuperQuad and the Tour Burner - I sold the Burner. SuperQuad - Nice for adjusting the weights to manipulate ball flight. Great price right now, as it is "older" technology. Tour Burner - Currently in my bag. The head is a bit smaller than the Burner, and looks a little more "traditional". Burner: Head was a bit too large looking for me (the silver trailing edge was distracting. Either the SQ or TB would be great, but I prefer the Tour Burner. Strongly recommend the new Tour Burner. The head has been reshaped slightly from the earlier Burner. I tried the old Burner, the Tour Burner, and the SuperQuad and was very pleased with the Tour Burner.

I would replace the 5 Wood. I would think that the gap between your 3 wood and a 19 degree hybrid would be sufficiently small as to allow that change to make sense.

Ive read with interest the various posts regarding folks here using blades...it is, I guess, a little puzzling. Aren't we playing to shoot better scores ? And if so, shouldn't we play with what helps us score lower...regardless of the "cachet" associated with it ? I ayed in a Golf Channel Amateur Tour event this weekend - the Par 3's ranged from 170 yards to 205 yards. I hit my 3,4, and 5 hybruds - and did not miss a green. My playing partners were firing their MP33s, and Titleist muscleback blades...and no one hit all 4 greens except me. I think I was better off...even tho I was hitting the less "fashionable" clubs. What do you guys think ???

This wont be the first time I have called MW out for what she is... a fraud,pure and simple. She cannot compete on the LPGA tour - what makes her think she can compete on any other tour. She lacks the skills to WIN - plain and simple. She is utterly delusional (listen to some post round comments after she fires a cool 82...) It's clear that Standford's admission process is REALLY stringent...ah, the power of ca$$$$h money...

The new Camerons are indeed sweet - I just got mine last week. Ive been putting with the previous model (with the GSS insert), and was not "unhappy" with it. However, I started test driving the newer version, and was very impressed with it. Among the things I liked - (1) the cord grip ROCKS - it alone is almost worth changing for (I know that sounds a bit much, but it's not...); (2) the "solid" head without the insert feels somehow better to me, and (3) the interchangeable weights will allow me to (finally) build a 350gram 35" putter. Hope that helps...

I highly recommend the burner hybrids - i carry both the 3 and 4. These are the only hybrids i have ever liked.

I cannot more highly recommend the burner hybrids. Ive tried about 10 different hybrids, and these are by FAR the best. I carry the 3 and 4 hybrids in place of my 3 and 4 irons. Oddly, I find it easy to work the ball with these cubs, as well as hit it high and straight. I

Did any of you read that the chick named "Cirbie" took 7 minutes to hot a chip shot ? I read it in GolfWeek....amazing. She looks like about a 30 handicapper.

I joined the Birminmgham,AL tour, and spoke to the organizer at length. The entry fees are only slightly more than the "normal" greens fees would be at the venues, so it seems reasonable. Im very interested to see how honest the handiicaps are...

Im a big Vokey fan. I've used both, and just seem to like the Vokeys better. I've never had a problem with them shredding balls - and I hit a lot of wedge shots 110 yards and in. I carry 3 Vokey wedges, including two Spin Milled. I have recently switched from a 56/16 & 60/4 combo to a 54/14 and 58/12 combo. I like the consistent amount of bounce . SS
