I know it's been a while, but, a couple things... #1: No, managers basically cannot argue balls and strikes anymore. Those that do are immediately thrown out of the game. That's an unwritten rule in the umpire book now. #2: Baseball management is NOT a formality, and goes way beyond pitching changes. Lineups and pinch hitting matchups, throwovers to first, steal attempts, bunts, hit-and-runs, even individual pitches in late innings... all called from the bench. These calls are relayed to the base coaches in offensive innings, or the catcher in defensive innings. It's quite similar to a head coach in football that calls plays. #3: I don't disagree with you, I do love a good manager tantrum. That is all.

Hehehe... I will never cease to be amused by very young children in goaltending equipment that looks like they have three other children strapped to their body. And all the while defending about 20% of a 24 square foot net.

I'm looking into getting my driver cut as well. Indeed, I have the notoriously too-long Burner Superfast 1.0... I'm 5'6"... would the old standard of 44" be a good start?

This is one of the many reasons I'm simply no longer tempted by the ProV1 hype... Other reasons: -Generally designed for higher swing speeds and lower handicaps. [that's... definitely not me.] -Urethane cover - Fabergé egg fragile... one cart path or rock = range ball. -They generate a ton of spin, but hit 'em wrong, and they'll spin the wrong way too... -I hate doing the trendy thing. -I'm just not good enough to be hitting a $4.00 ball... (I know, the B'stones are also $45 a box, but the ones I used I found in the woods...)

Okay... so this is now the second time you've deliberately changed my words... you're on a hot streak. Perhaps you should re-read the part of my post that states "That could be the difference between the trees and, well, not in the trees." Is there any part of that sentence that mentions the fairway? Did I say fairway or even imply it? Are there not golf holes with woods that are very much in play, especially dog-leg holes? Would you rather be 1 yard in bounds than 2 yards out of bounds? Oh, and you're just flat wrong again about the data. His swing speeds were similar, and the face-to-path angle at impact was almost identical (6.8 for the ProV1 versus 7.0 for the DT solo). The DT solo actually had a GREATER face to path angle, so if anything, the DT solo swings were exposed to slightly more of a slice, yet had less total dispersion. Unortuantely, we are dealing with a very small sample size, so I don't know if the data means anything. My evidence is self-admittedly anecdotal, and I don't think I need to explain or defend that.

Uhm... perhaps you should re-read the part of my post that states " Is there a golf ball that cures slices? Of course not." I never said, or even suggested that. But his anecdotes about phone calls to Titleist refute his own data. I'm citing simple facts - 7.7 is less than 11.3. That's not up for debate. Granted, he has a very small sample size. I'd be interested to see him hit 50 of each ball and see the dispersion results.

Just don't give up. The club exists dude. Or, if you buy a gap wedge, get a matching sand wedge, and ditch yours. Choice is yours, but I think everyone here would agree that the round-peg-square-hole solution is not a good one.
