  1. I remember hearing a news story a few years ago about an a-hole off duty cop who pulled his gun on the group behind for hitting up on him. I think having a gun on the course is asking for trouble. Just having a gun with you doesn't mean you can avoid or even change the outcome of a random act of violence against you. If someone is pointing a gun at you and you reach for yours you will probably be shot before you can get it out and chamber a round... By the way, I am a gun owner. http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/4815...subid=10101561

  3. I think it's interesting that everyone that was there just stood and watched while he hit almost a dozen balls at the bird and didn't say anything. I'm sure he got "lucky" that he actually hit it. It can't be cheap to have a camera crew standing around while he trys to scare a bird off.
  4. Whoops. Just found this tread somewhere else. sorry.
  5. Did anyone else hear about Trip Isenhour killing a hawk while filming a tv show and getting charged with animal cruelty? Kind of bizarre. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080307/...EsAAWr7.Hn0rQF
  6. I feel so bad for this guy. Life sucks. I would hate to be a 2 and have to play Oakmont.
  7. Yeah, brand new clubhouse and restaurant too. Hope they don't raise the prices now.
  8. I'd have to say San Clemente Muni is one of my favorite courses in the area for the money. San Juan Hills is also a good course for the price. I really don't pay more than $50 for golf so I wouldn't know about Monarch or Pelican.
  9. No kidding, sounds like a typical meathead. roid rage maybe
  10. Most public courses that have houses lining the fairways have signs that say the golfer is liable for damage. At least here in socal.

  12. An interesting article from Grouchy Golf Blog. http://www.grouchygolf.com/2004/06/f...des-redux.html Sorry if this has already been posted.
  13. I quickly scanned this thread and can't believe nobody is talking about the Nickent 4DX. I have the 3 and 4 ironwoods and really think they are sweet. I believe they received gold ratings in the latest Golf Digest rankings. You guys should really check these out if you are looking at hybrids.
  14. I received the Skycaddie SG5 for a gift back in Nov. and think it's awesome. I really don't mind the subsricption fee. The only problem is my friends are always asking me how far their shot is. The color screen is really cool and it tells how far to front and back of hazards, etc. You can adjust the cursor on the green to adjust for pin placement. I think it speeds up play too. Just walk up to your ball, look at the yardage, pick a club and shoot. No looking for sprinkler heads or pacing off yardage.
  15. Shot 40-46 at Yucaipa Valley, slope 121 (2-17-08) Shot 43-44 at Victoria Club, slope 128 (2-20-08) Not too bad for someone who normally shoots in the mid 90's

  17. In the past six months or so I have purchased just about all the clubs in my sig. from E-bay with no problems. Very happy with the prices I paid. Not sure where my signature is... Callaway FT-5 9.5 Nickent 4DX hybrids (3 and 4 IW) Callaway X-20 steel shaft irons Odyssey Marxman mallet
