Haha.. now I'm asking myself why I bought the Fusions a few months ago.. even though they are amazing clubs.
-
Yes, it was a very good tournament. Tiger played great, mickelson did also.
-
Wow.. nice job getting grouped with Annika! I signed up several months ago to be a standard bearer at the Fedex Kinkos Classic at the end of April.

Hawaii. I'd settle for arizona, or any other tropical place.

I think everyone is happy that Felicia is gone.

This is some bad luck right here: On another note.. Duval shot a 79, leaving him in last place. http://www.pgatour.com/story/8186257

I see people using iron covers all the time. The other day I got stuck with a threesome and they all had iron covers as well.
-
Of course I use iron covers. If you make an investment, why not protect them? I use http://www.castlebay.com/softexcovers.html these.

I almost bought Ping Irons, but considering I had all Callaway woods and I've played X12's, and X14's, I'd try some of the new stuff by Callaway. I was very impressed with the fusions. They have to be some of the best irons I've hit. Very satisfied. However, if you do decide to get either the X-18's or the Fusions, be sure to get iron covers. I origionally didn't think it was necessary considering they are cast irons, and they got beat up pretty bad from riding in the bag in one or two rounds. I contacted Callaway, they sent me a new set, and of course, I went out and bought iron covers. Other than that, they are great clubs, and you always get a good feel on everyshot: it can be a complete mis-hit and you still get a good feel. I have hit the X-18 Pro Series and the X-18 in the store, however, it was on a launch monitor, and on a horrible carpet/mat thing.. I don't think you can even call it a mat. But from what I had felt from the two irons, the X-18 had a whole lot of "Nothing-ness" feel to it. I have had other people say this. However, it might be more attracting visually, I wasn't impressed a whole lot with the feel, and they are forgiving and had good ball flights. Compared though, if you are a higher handicapper, I would honestly go with the Fusions. They might be more expensive, but they are worth it. The face is very hot, they look sharp, and they have great feel. From what I can tell, they had even a thinner top-line than the X-18's. Oh, I forgot to mention the X-18 Pro series have a larger topline.

I have never heard of those courses in Houston.. however, I would have added TPC at Woodlands to the list. If you are in the San Antonio area, there are 2 La Cantera courses (probably the best in SA, in my opinion, they have the Valero Texas Open (PGA TOUR) there every year) and Quarry Golf Club looks great too but I've never played there. Austin, there's Teravista, Barton Creek, and the other good ones are private.

Woody, Just be sure before you buy the X-18 Pro series you hit them. They have a smaller face, less offset, with an increased bounce. In summary: you are losing a good deal forgiveness. However, since you are a 12 handicap, I'd suggest hitting both of the clubs in a side-by-side comparison to see which ones play the best, and possibly consider trying out the regular X-18's.

... and I thought Scottsdale was amazing at $250 a person! Man.. those $5 rounds are starting to go to my head apparently.

Loved the part on playing lessons when her dad told her to use a certain club.. and she argued against it, and ended up short. Then she used the club she was going to use and stuck it right by the flag. Oddly enough, was the playing lesson only like 3 holes? Or did I miss some of it?

iacas, I have a picture of the ball actually, its posted on another forum, however, since their site is messed up right now, I can't send it. Here it is:

Have you seen the new Prov1 yet? I saw a picture of it the other day. Oddly enough, it had the hexagon design similar to the Callaway balls.. could have sworn they patent'ed that.
-
I agree that this was horrible programming also... they have around 2 hours of programming and all they do is talk about stuff that doesn't even pertain to the trade show. I wanted to see booths of major OEM's.. and really.. all I saw was a few interviews with people you've never heard of.

We play both Clubs of lakeway courses: yaupon & live oak from the gold tees. Check it out next time you are down here. They are pretty cheap courses and fairly nice (although Yaupon is a lot nicer in my opinion.) If you're looking for a nice place to play down here try Twin Creeks, and Cimarron Hills is pretty nice too.. although I believe they are private courses. Which courses have you played down here?

All I have to say is try to get them off the range and onto the course more often.. Our team plays 9 holes every day.. mon-fri.. each day focusing on a different aspect while playing the nine holes.. friday is a free day. However, our tryouts suck, 36 holes on the hottest day of the year down here.. must break 80 both days for men... 100 for girls from tournament tees.
-
The club I always plays at doesn't really care about what tees you play from, but I mean, if you went and played the womens tees, it might be a different story. Sometimes during leisure rounds I play a different set of tees on a different hole. For example, on very long holes (I am not a very long hitter) I'll move up to the white tees to make the game a little more enjoyable for myself. I get kind of mad when I walk up to a par 5 and then see that the womens and the white tees are nearly 150 yards away from the mens and the tournament tees.

If I see one more episode of the Big Break, I think I'm going to throw up.

I signed up to work at the Fedex Kinkos Classic (Champions tour) here in April about a month ago. Looking forward to it but haven't received any word back from them.

My pleasure, TMF. Most of the new products have been posted on the Callaway website. X-18's http://www.callawaygolf.com/en/clubs...=x18&sFrame;=60 BB 454 http://www.callawaygolf.com/en/clubs...i454&sFrame;=30 However, nothing about an HX Hot yet. They have been posted on TGW for $24.99... Cheaper than the other HX's? Odd..

Horrible green designs.. more towards tiered greens and a horrible green that is at a severe angle tilting towards a built up front that has a lake in front. You hit a ball that has just a little backspin.. you'll be rolling off the front and right into the lake.
