  1. Do you play the lie or do you put the ball on the little bit taller grass or anything to make you shot easier, not saying either way is bad but just wondering.Me I will play most lies unless it is really buried or something like that
  2. exactly, thats what I should have said to start with, all I am saying is until you get to the point that you really need to fine tune your game(not a 36 handicap) that practice and more rounds will do more for you handicap than spending a lot of money.wouldn't you agree, but hey each to their own
  3. I can see why the pros do this, but the average golfer with a 20 or above handicap in my opinion needs to cut that in half before he or she worries too much about all that.I dont think Tiger is on here, the game was designed to be fun not cost a fortune,so I will play with what I have and cotinue to get better with them did not mean to make this a arguement PEACE...........
  4. Hey BIG M I took a look at whats in your bag and thats some nice equipment you have there and as I posted you see what I have as well and I would love to play against those nice clubs you have and see the outcome,by the way you dont have to make it so personal I never picked on you so there is your nugget of wisdom
  5. Thanks for the backup Dave 39 could not have said it better myself,And by the way I never said that if you want to spend the money on cavity back clubs or the very best driver money can buy and you can bet if you sucked before you will still suck after the pro shop takes your money.Myself I play with Max-fli blades and 1 hybrid and a Taylormade r 580 xd 10.5 loft and can use them very well thank you
  6. Man you guys make this game harder than it needs to be all the math and angles and moi's and all that jargon is giving me a headache. Now if you want to get better with out all the technical stuff just practice your swing and play as much as you can,or maybe take someone along that is better than you to point out some things you may be doing wrong, get lessons.I just think that everyone relys to much on these crutches
  7. Yea I do know what you mean steel driver its hard to get anyone to tell the truth off the course and its funny to see them try to backpaddle when you get to the course........This why I have not put a handicap on here yet I do not have one but feel like I am playing pretty good so far it should be less than 5
  8. I have to agree with nm on this one playing heads up you should never be able to beat a scratch golfer if you have a handicap of 5 or above, right. If so the scratch golfer just had himself a bad day
  9. I am going to try to play at least once a week, but I do have 2 kids in baseball that takes up a lot of time but still I think I can get in a round a week that should be enough to keep the rust off I would hope
  10. The way I look at it is what did everone do 10 years ago or anytime before skycaddy and such,Like someone said above just work on your game and like you said you know about how far you can hit your clubs so that should give you some idea how far after you tee shot.If you play enough your head becomes a skycaddy or pretty dang close.I just think people rely to much on crutches like this and take a lot of fun from the game.I just wonder how many people take their cell phones on the course,I think they should be banned......Nothing worse than being held up by someone on the green talking on a cell phone, golf is about being out their by yourself or your partners and fellowship.Well i guess I am done griping just keep golf fun not so technical HAHAHAHA......
  11. I am glad I start this thread,it is good to see that everyone is tring to improve their game.As for me I used to play when I was younger played for my High School and was a scratch golfer back then,I won several city tournaments but that was 20 years ago just picked it back up this year I have played 5 games this year so far and have been using the range every chance I get.Last game I played I shot an honest 38 on 9 holes par is 35.So I guess to make a long story short it takes a while but it is like riding a bike I suppose.....I hope to at least become a scratch golfer again hopefully,by the way back when I was playing golf it was not nearly as popular as it is today and that is why I quit back then, wished I would have just toughed it out and stayed with it
  12. That is some funny responces thanks for the laugh,I am just tring to get some idea how good everyone on here is
  13. Just wondering how many scratch golfers are on here
  14. Play more rounds and hopefully get better
