  1. Shot 78 with 38 putts. Driver was on and only missed 3 fairways. I wish I had 18 on video. Par 5 into the wind, killed my drive(soft cut) dead center 200 yards out. Flushed a 4 iron( another soft cut) laser to 8 feet. Lipped out the Eagle putt tapped in the birdie. Thing of beauty.
  2. The sound Was captured by my iPhone about 20 feet away
  3. My swing speed is not 115. Avg. ss is 102 - 104. As for carry and total distance, all I can say is that I know my yardages pretty well and avg. carry is around 250 - 260. I have hit many drives in excess of 300 yds. Anyway, the point was simply the sound of the video. The swing is not a hard swing it is what I would call a 75% swing. Just smooth.
  4. The point is that I loved the sound and thought I would share. As for the numbers, I found them odd but really, I don't get hung up on them. I find a club that feels good, take it to the course and judge it on it's performance. You've stated that I don't swing 110, I just repeated what the trackman listed when I got fitted for a driver. I have no idea what my true swing speed is, but I have a garage full of long drive prizes from various scrambles and I know that I wear out wedges and short irons more than mid to long irons. If I had to bet my life on driver distance, I would say that my average distance is around 280 yds. But hey, the real point is the wonderful sound of club hitting ball then the visual of ball go far! Blessings for a great 2013.
  5. Agreed. I definitely learn by seeing and feel so it will take some time to get in the positions y'all are talking about. I just have to get past.the "odd" feel and focus on a solid base to swing from.
  6. Every now and then(depending on how crowded or not the course is) I will put two balls in play. One by my aggressive self(Driver, fire at pins, challenge par 5's in two) and one by my management side(Yardages from the tee to the pipes, lay ups to solid yardages on par 5's). I find it a good practice to chart fairways hit and GIR's to solidify my game approach and mind set. Just curious if anyone else does this and what are your results? Also, did it change your mind set when you had to put one or the other into play $$.
  7. My bad on the implementation. I find a problem with my arms. Like an ape, i am 5'9" tall and my span is 6'2". I tried letting my arms hang but felt crowded and fatted every swing. The back thing I have to really work on. I know this swing is and will be a "HUGE" departure from my original swing and I am very encouraged with how my iron swing has become like breathing. This change will take a lot of reps and reinforcement and I know we are laying a foundation. So my question becomes, in moving in to the ball and relaxing my arms and lower back, what should I feel as I transition from the top of my swing into the slot? Thanks again for everyone's help and blessing for a Happy 2013.
  8. That screen grab is not my position before starting the swing. I am trying to implement Mike's suggestions. As for my SS, Trackman listed my Club head speed at 110 with my old long and quick swing and now I am at 104 club head speed. Thanks for the advice and sorry for the confusion over the SS.
  9. Okay Mike, I implemented your tummy tuck relaxed spine and neck. Head on: DTL: I just don't feel like I can accelerate through the ball. I feel as though I am pulling the club through and not "Hitting" the ball. Advice from here?

  11. Well I turn 50 in January 1) Get my HDCP down to 4.5 by March(currently 6.7) 2) Compete in local events and cash 3) Lower HDCP to 2.5 by September 4) Compete in Senior events and cash. Continue to overhaul my driver swing and avg. 30 putts/round Piece of cake right?
  12. Trees are 90% air. Golf swing is 90% mental 90% of scoring is putting I could go on....but I never give 100%
  13. Koolau on Oahu. Off the charts slope rating. I birdied 18 and got a hero's welcome. 18 is the #1 hdcp hole. I put my name in a book and the course sent me a very nice golf bag embroidered with their name and insignia and the umbrella sleeve is embroidered " I conquered the toughest hole in the Nation" I shot 96 and lost about 6-8 balls.
  14. Out of work and need a job desperately. Currently doing Ceramic tile and wood floor installations.
  15. Tip for increasing my swing speed from this position? My ss dropped from 110 to 104. Should I be concerned or will that increase with repetition and confidence?
  16. Well, I turn 50 next month and I plan on bringing my index down to 4 by March and enter a few local events and then get my index down to 2 by Sept. It's a pipe dream but a close friend(scratch golfer) who played in a few amateur events is convinced that with my flexibility, length of the tee and competitive drive I could make a good showing. I think he's crazy but it will be a fun experiment. But hey, if I take a few more $$'s in my weekend outings, I'd be happy.
  17. Wow!. All along I thought the idea was to have a straight spine(You know, I hear mom saying "Sit up straight, Straighten up young man") And now after looking at the video(Thanks for the effort with that), I see that a slight roll in my back will get me in the proper position to make a good swing. I like most have a slight curve to my back and it has been an effort to keep it straight. Now all I have to do is suck in(tighten my stomach) and relax my neck.........Heck, I'm doing it as I type........like Kagels for the wife Thanks Mike. You are in for .010 percent of my winnings as a result of your help
  18. Hey Mike one more thing. I noticed on my back swing, I take the club back flat. Then it seems I lift and bring the club back to the ball from a steeper angle. Question: should I alter my back swing to a steeper angle or somehow eliminate the lift and focus on coming back to the ball on a flatter plane? Thanks and I hope everyone had a great Christmas, K.
  19. I will check that out. Thanks so much. Update to follow.
  20. So you are saying to just let my head drop a little and softening my back will bring my weight forward?
  21. First Christmas in the trap. Thanks and same to you.
  22. Thanks Mike. So should I move back a hair to put a lean and more weight on the balls of my feet?
  23. Mess around with your ball position and set-up. I find that when my swing is off, it is due to the fact that I am coming out of my shots(Peeking and moving my eyes to follow the ball) No expert but when I make sure to keep my eyes on the spot vacated by the ball, all swings benefit.
