  1. What I try to do is during practice just start off nice and slow with easy swings and slowly work your way up to more powerful ones. Once I slice I usually back it down or go back to my original starting power and do it all over again. I think a lot of it is muscle memory and you just need to know when you should close and square up the face. It works pretty well for me.
  2. So I just got a budget drive because I am just starting and didn't want to pay a bunch for one. I was just wondeirng it said that it was a 10.5degree, but when i put it up to my brothers 10 degree it looks like it has way more loft. I used a protractor and my brothers was around 10. I know that is not the most accurate way to measure loft but mine was around 13. Is it because its a really budget driver? I don't have a problem hitting it so I am not worried but I was just wondering.
  3. So I am trying to figure out why I end up toping the ball or taking divots out before the ball. I think the reason why I top the ball is that I am affraid to hit the ground and stand up right before I hit the ball. I am assuming the chunking is do to dipping. Is there any way I can fix that or just practice my swing? Thanks.
  4. I just wanted to thank everyone for being so helpful. All the tips were great especially the video.
  5. Thanks everyone for all the help. If anyone else would like to chime in that would be great too.
  6. Any other comments? Thanks.
  7. I had a quick question on how people swing. I wanted to know if you should use more of your arms to strike the ball or more with your body. I know that when I keep my arms and body moving at the same speed together, I get good ball contact. On the other hand when I use more of my arms I seems to hit the ball thin to much. Thanks any kind of tips will help. I am brand new to golf.

  9. This is coming from a newb but shouldn't it techincally be the same for hitting any iron. If you have it down with a shorter iron, it should be the same motion with a long one.

Yeah I used to play competitive paintball all the time. You don't make any money and you spend a lot. I'm trying to figure out which on costs more, paintball or golf.
