  1. well all of the clubs are within a hundered bucks of each other I can get the MP-60s for 600 new it seems as though everyone likes the mizunos lol
  2. Hey everyone, this week I'm going to be looking for a set of irons to replace my 20+ year old grand slam II blades (from my dad). I consider myself a pretty good golfer (8.2 hcap), but I'm deftinitly not the best ballstriker (only 4.3 GIRs avrg.) I think it might be because the irons I have currently have really light and soft shafts, and so everything goes left (even a cut swing). So I've got my list down to 5 different sets: 1. Mizuno Mp-60 w/ DG S300 2. Wilson Staff Pi7 w/ DG S300 3. Adams a3 Boxer 4. Macgregor M685 w/ Rifle 6.0 5. Callaway X-18 I know this is a pretty ecletic list, but what do you think will the best?
  3. My 3-wood's shaft (Adams stock shaft) seems to be VERY tip flexible. This creates a nice 15 yard hook when i catch this club clean (makes me very afraid from the rough lol). So i was wondering if putting a strip of lead tape about going 2 inches up the shaft at the tip above the hozel would help to make the tip stiffer. Might be a stupid question, but just wondering Thanks
  4. Adams Ovation 2...love the piercing trajectory and distance...240 on nice strikes :P Probably going to get it reshafted with a V2 or look at the Mactec NVG 2
  5. Those look like Slingshot Forged Irons...interesting. Maybe Stites doesn't want to let go of his Slingshot idea. And about Tiger...Nike is giving exposure, a brand, and LOTS of money. Similar to Jordan (23) and Lebron, they are building (or built I should say) a mystique around him. As for his clubs, he could play with a shovel and still beat some guys on the Tour.
  6. thanks for the comments especially that comparision, Avid. Really appreciate it and really shows what i need to work on. So I will be working on have straight legs, and a better posture. I'm also working on my swing plane being more upright.
  7. Hey guys...I have three possibilities for a 2 Hybrid I can get them all for around the same price. The options are: Nickent 3DX DC w/ Proforce V2 Callaway Heavenwood w/ RCH75i Taylormade Rescue Dual w/ stock steel I am mainly looking for workability, with some forgiveness. It will be used everywhere lol...tee, fairway, and rough. So anyone have any experiences with these? Thanks
  8. bump any comments would be greatly appreciated
  9. Hey guys. I seem to have an inconsistency issue with my driver this year. I just can't seem to hit fairways. I almost always lose it out to the right, and usually with a nasty 15 year duck into the right rough (or worse). My good drives start left and fade right...my bad ones start straight and end up 15-20 yards right of the centre line. Any ideas? (video of swing below) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHygsKYBpyY thanks
  10. I had some crazy weather for a tournament on Wednesday. +4 degrees celcius, with 40 km/h winds and alternating the entire round between hail and snow. When you stood over the ball, the wind would be constantly be blowing hail straight into your face as you hit. Tres Annoying lol Ended up with an 86, but I missed 7 putts under 10 feet...hail and wind kept moving my ball around the green during the putts. O well lol
  11. putting is actually one of the strongest parts of my game 1. medium to large greens 2. 30-32 putts normally 3. Rossa Daytona 1 AGSI (sweet feeling, AND looking putter) 4. barley ever get 3 putts, usually once every 2-3 rounds. My putting has been money this year, had 27 putts 2 weeks ago That felt good lol
  12. Well, first you need to decide what kind of mountain biking you are going to get into. Are you mainly going to be doing cross country mountain biking, downhill/ freeride/ shore (technical downhill) biking, or Cross mountain biking (mix of XC and DH, such as the Trans-Rockies). If you are looking to the XC side of mountain biking and are a novice biker, most bigger compaines will have a lower level XC bike that will be perfectly satisfactory for you. For example, the Specialized Hardrock/ Rockhopper is a decently priced XC bike that would be more than enough bike for a beginninger/ novice. Also look at Norco, Giant, and Trek. Gary Fischer is owned by Trek, so they are basically rebranded Treks, depending on the model. As for sizing, it is a personal thing. My dirt jump bike is very small, but i like the feel, wheras my XC bike is bigger for the feel on the trails.
  13. Hey guys....I have a MAJOR problem blading my short irons from the fairway. I hit 3 PWs and 2 SWs today from the fairway and bladed all of them over the green. I dont think I was swing too hard, which confused. I was able to make much better contact with my longer irons, which has me very confused. Anyone have an reasons or experiences with this? Thanks
  14. which irons did u get? and does anyone have any experiences with the MacGregors, and how forgiving are the Titleists?
  15. So how forgiving are the 735s? B/c im a semi-consistent long iron player but a lot better from 6-iron and in (so id be looking for a decent amount of forgiveness from the long irons) And has anyone played/tried the M685s? They seem like an interesting club, being forged with the progessive metals but having a cavity back. Has anyone tried them, and if so hows the forgiveness and feel, as well as the quality? Thanks alot
  16. Hey guys, I looking at upgrading into new irons. I've been playing hand-me-down Powerbuilt Grand Slam II Blades (like 20 years old) for 3 years and I've decided on getting some new clubs. I am about a 13 handicap, but I think im going to reduce my handicap below 10 this year. I have mishits like anyone else of course. I'm looking at the Titleist 735cms or Macgregor M685s 1. I was wondering if anyone has any first-hand experience with either of these clubs, and if so I was wondering what your opinions on them were. 2. Im also wondering about the forgiveness factor. Are the cavity back long and mid 735s forgiving, and how about the M685s. Thanks
  17. Macgregor is deft flying under the radar for most people...has anyone tried the Macgreor M685s? I thinking of picking a set up and I was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experience with them
  18. I love my Callaway X460. It has a very nice ball flight, and a 10-yard power fade with it is just money. I like the Fujukara 64 shaft, although I might be reshafting to something with a heavier tip (a la Aldila NV) to get my flight down a little bit.
  19. I use a Taylormade Rossa CGB AGSI Daytona Blade, amazing feel with the AGSI insert and nice weighting due to the weights in the clubhead
