  1. Not to state the obvious, but you really sould consider a lesson. I've had one lesson and it was invaluable to be face to face with the teacher.
  2. I've got a 4gb model and absolutely love it.
  3. My suggestion is to go get fitted. If you are taking the game more seriously, I believe it is a logical step. Also, read read read. Forums, magazines, books (Ben Hogan's Five Lessons is what I suggest) etc.
  4. I'm learning on forged blades because that is all I have right now. When I strike the ball correctly, it feels good. When I don't, it feels baaaaaad.
  5. Awesome, thanks for the help and info guys!
  6. I've been debating this somewhat too. I swear in Hogan's "Five Lessons" he wants you to pull your elbows in a bit, which feels unnatural. I probably need to read that section again. I had a coach tell me to just relax - if your spine angle is correct, your arms should hang in the right spot naturally.
  7. I also wear a Seiko kenetic. I've had it 8 years and it is getting a little small for me now, need to add a link. I think it is shrinking! Or.... my wrist is bigger now Nice watch though, never needs batteries, I even swim with it on.
  8. No - I have a wife
  9. I did a google search for "national investors life insurance company" and it turns out it was an Arkansas based company that went under in the mid 80's.
  10. I'm currently using my dad's old clubs and I'd like to get an idea of how old they are. Out of curiosity I'd like to figure out when this model was made. Any Wilson experts out there?
  11. This is very very tempting!
  12. Excellent analysis and comments, Avid Golfer! Thanks so much. I've read over what you had to say but I'll have to read it again to absorb the info. Thanks!
  13. Great tips! I'm going to try the string pull theory!
  14. Excellent comments, thank you! I never noticed I was straightening my spine angle on the backswing. I agree it does look like the ball is in the middle of my stance, but it is closer to my left foot than it looks. As far as the clubface being open at address, I never noticed that either. I really have a hard time deciding where to put it. Oh and you can use the slider to take the video frame by frame.
  15. Good point. That little white ball can definitely give me fits :) I'll try to make a video at the range - did this quickly at lunch and don't have a net or anything at my house. However, even without a ball that is my swing and I was hoping someone might see things I don't.
  16. I uploaded a couple videos to swingacademy - I'd really appreciate any advice on my swing. I tend to slice with a driver, and I can't seem to judge where I'm aiming with an iron. Consistently hitting the sweet spot on these old musclebacks is a problem as well. If this is not the best way to post the video please let me know. http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1006 http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1007
  17. I think I'll experiment with the interlock for a while and see what happens. I have tried it a few times and it seems as though I have a tendency to swing steeper with it - no idea why.
  18. As I read more on the subject, I get conflicting information. Some people say the 10 finger is better for smaller hands, while some say the interlock is better. I'm going to play 9 holes this afternoon and I'll experiment
  19. I currently use a 10 finger grip, which feels natural to me. I've read that people with smaller hands might use this grip, and I do have small hands. I wear a men's small glove and some brands are still too big in a small (Nike smalls seem to fit well). I'm currently reading Ben Hogan's "5 lessons" and he really stresses the grip, and strongly suggests interlacing the right pinky in between the left index and middle finger. I've tried this and it just feels strange... Any advice?
  20. Welcome! I'm in Wynne and a member of Crowley's Ridge Country Club. Only 9 holes but a beautiful and tough course. I'm out there every chance I get, trying to learn and having fun.
  21. So we have one comment stating to try moving the ball back in your stance, and one saying to try moving it up in your stance... Since you said you play it in the middle, I vote for moving it back.
  22. My goals are to develop a powerful, repeatable swing and to break 100!
  23. 11 holes in one! Not bad but I shot a 33 last weekend
  24. Congrats! Can't wait to join you in that first clubs experience
  25. I'm new as well and these videos by Shawn Clement have been very helpful.
