  1. I have a 34 handicap. My new driver is a Ping G30 SF TEC. My driving has really improved and I hit a lot more fairways.
  2. I have not tried the i20. But I had a Cobra Amp Cell & aG25 & now a G30. I am a 33 handicap and am not in the fairway very often. However I find that I am hitting more fairways and have much more confidence on the tee with the G30. Even my golf buddies noticed my driving has improved.
  3. I play mostly munis with par 5's under 500 yds. It does seem strange, but I find I use my 6i & 7i very little.
  4. You are 100% correct on the inconsistent ball striking. However I have gotten better at my ball striking since I have a) shortened & slowed my back swing b) am swinging smoother & stopped trying to kill it c) have concentrated on keeping my head down & still. I do find that my most used clubs are Driver, 3i, 4i, 5i, 9i & wedges. I was at Golfsmith the other day and hit a Ping G30 4H and was getting high 170 to 190 distances. I am not used to hybrids, which is probably why the wide range of yardages. Over the past 2 years you have helped me a lot and I value your input. I was thinking about doing away with the 3i, 4i & 3w and getting a 3H & 4H.
  5. I have been tracking my yardages with a Garmin Approach G6. I delete lousy shots as well as real good shots, so the averages are pretty true. If I am recording only good hits, why the gaps. I know it's not the clubs. Do you all have any suggestions as how to fill these gaps? Even though I don't have enough shots with the 6 & 7 to get a good average, if I add 5 yards to the 8i distance I get 147. Then 5 to that I get 153 for the 6i. Which gives an 18 yard gap between the 5 & 6. Driver 220 3w 190 3i 181 4i 178 5i 171 6i no data 7i no data 8i 143 9i 137 PW 108 UW 98 SW 91 LW 77 Thanks
  6. I spend a lot more time at work thinking about golf than I do playing or practicing. So I come up with all these questions. I am currently playing a Ping G30 SF Tec, Regular flex shaft. My average drive (I only count good strikes) is around 220-230 & my club head speed is mid to high 80's. Would I benefit from a Senior Flex, or does it really matter? Thanks
  7. I am 6"2' with a wrist to floor measurement of 35". My irons are Ping G25, +.25, Black Dot Okay here is the dumb question. When I am addressing the ball the toe of the club is about a quarter inch or so off the ground. Should the club head lie flat? Thanks
  8. First round with my G30 SF my golf buddies could not believe how much my driving improved. Finally I was in the fairways more than I was in the trees.
  9. First let me say that I have never been able to hit a fairway wood well. I know it is probably mental & I need lessons & need to practice more. That being said let me get to my question. In my bag I currently have a 3i & 4 i. I average 178 with the 4i and 181 with the 3i. This leaves me at a disadvantage on par 5 and long par 4 holes. I went to Golfsmiths and hit a Ping 22 degree hybrid and was averaging between 190 and 202. Should I ditch the 3 & 4 irons and go with a hybrid? Thanks, Charles
  10. My granddaughter likes to go to Top Golf with us and wants to some hit balls, but they don't have any kids clubs. I am going to get her a wedge for her first club, but most of the clubs I have seen for a girl her size have an integrated grip that is supposed to teach proper grip. I am thinking that for a 6 year old's first club that type of grip might be a bit much. Do any of you all have any experience with this? Thanks
  11. On the range I hit 80% of the shots with my irons pretty good. On the course I just can't seem to make good consistent ball strikes. I top the ball, hit worm burners, hit right, left, etc. Is there a drill I can use to help correct this? Thanks
  12. Just cancelled any further shipments. However the girl offered to change to a dozen every 90 days for $29. I would have gone for it if they came in yellow.
  13. Thanks a lot, didn't think to check on Facebook.
  14. OK, let me save everyone some time and get this over with. I will be the first to admit that am an idiot, I fell for the lure of free balls, I didn't read the fine print, etc., etc. Now that being said, does anybody have the number I need to call to cancel future shipments? Thanks, Charles
  15. I had a G15 5i & 8i break at the hosel.
  16. I like I am sure many others drank the free ball cool aid, and now I want to cancel. Do I contact Kick X or the marketing company? Also, would someone who has successfully canceled their "free deal" please post the contact number or email. I know I didn't read the terms of the offer, and I realize I'm an idiot, so please don't rub it in.
  17. Thanks I will check online. I like playing the same ball all the time. I play with a guy that plays any ball he has or finds. However when we are looking for his ball and find one, he can't say for sure it's his because he can't remember.
  18. Can anyone suggest a ball that is somewhat comparable to the Supersoft or Duo that doesn't cost quite so much. I really like the way these balls play, but I am losing way too many. If I can play a comparable ball at cheaper price I can save money for lessons, then maybe I can get good enough to stop losing so many and go back to the Callaways and and Wilsons.
  19. During my lessons, and practice at the range I strike the ball and hit decent shots about 80-90% of the time. But when I get on the course I would guess that average drops to 50% at best. I can't seem to get past this, and I am getting frustrated. Any suggestions?
  20. I apologize for not being real clear. Trust me I am trying very hard to do everything my pro teaches (which are the 5 simple keys) but at 60 with arthritis in my right hip and a a torn labrum in my left shoulder I just can't do everything perfect. What I am wondering is, what I I losing when I make the best swing I possibly can (comfortable probably wasn't the right word).
  21. I was wondering if there is a happy medium between a perfect mechanically correct swing and swing that might not be perfect, but is comfortable. An example of this is after years of swinging my swing I am now taking lessons from a PGA Pro. But it seems like I hit my short irons much better when I kind of revert back to my comfortable swing. I am still trying to keep the left arm straight, rotate, etc. But just not what I would call a perfect rendition of what I have been taught. Is this wrong, should I be striving for the perfect swing?
  22. I put this in the wrong place, how do I move it into "Balls, etc."?
  23. I admit I have a little troubling following the flight of my ball on drives. I was using the lime color Callaway Supersoft and found it easier to see than the white, so when they introduced the bright orange I bought a dozen of those. I don't know if any of you have used the orange balls, but I find them extremely hard to see. Not only in flight but even when they are lying on the fairway. So now Callaway has yellow and blue. What ball do you all find easiest to see? (I'd make this a poll question but don't know how) Thanks
  24. I finally bit the bullet and sought the help of a PGA teaching pro, and while the first 3 lessons completely destroyed my game (he changed everything for my grip to set up and swing) it looks like during lesson #4 things started to click and all come together. Here in lies my question. When practicing my new swing I start out by doing 1/2 swings (9 o'clock position) then 3/4 (around 10-11 o'clock) then full swings (11-1 o'clock). I have found that with the 3/4 swing I hit beautiful, straight shots about 80-90 percent of the time. Weird thing is with the 3/4 swings the ball seems to travel just about as far as the full swing. How much more distance should I be getting from a full swing versus a 3/4? Thanks, Charles San Antonio TX
