  1. After coming across this group I've been jonesing to get out and play some DG. Yesterday, a friend and I finally got out to a new-to-us, 9-hole (two tee-pads per hole) course. Since neither had played in quite a while we both took it pretty easy, throwing for accuracy instead of distance (much like I'm working on in ball-golf). With the exception of a few errant throws, we actually played pretty well (for us) and didn't lose any discs which is always a plus. What's in my [disc golf] bag: Lots of miscellaneous discs but the ones I throw most regularly are... Champion Sidewinder -- very stable distance driver Pro Leopard -- very stable mid-range disc DX Roc -- approach shots DX Aviar -- putter
  2. Here's a naive question from a new golfer: Why can't you trot up to the slow group and say, "Hey man, my group is playing faster than you guys. Do you mind letting us play through at the next hole?" If they say yes, you win. If they say no, you call the clubhouse and say there are slow-playing idiots on the course. If the staff does nothing at that point, they've shown they have poor customer service skills and you take your business someplace else. In any event, you pretty much win. Right?
  3. I started playing golf a month and a half ago and I can tell you that before that time, I had never heard of a "long putter", "belly putter", or "anchoring". My recent interest in playing golf had absolutely nothing to do with the equipment. Nothing. At. All.
  4. I'm a software developer and brand new to golf
  5. Disc golf is a great game. I'm new to ball golf and can probably throw a disc farther than I can drive a ball. I helped install a course at the local community college, then a couple months later nailed the first hole-in-one. :) And if you're an equipment junky, there is no end of discs you can try out.
