good good man good luck out there
-
the top line looks good. not a whole lot of offset should be fun.
-
yea but its all good. i will be playing a 2 day tourney in a couple weeks so i will be getting lots of massages between now and then. whats wrong with hitting a small bucket and playing the 9. i don't spend alot of time at the range. you will get better knowledge on the course were there is pressure to make the shot and your lie will never be perfect like on the range. i would suggest hit a bucket then step out on the course and play what ya got. work on a couple things and then move it to the course. yes i said the same thing twice in two different ways lol. when you sit and hit you learn what you can do in a perfect situation when your on the course the ball is above your feet below your feet in a divot etc etc. don't fear the course its the best tool around. driving range is to warm up and work on a few things but grip it and rip it on the course. you will definitely learn more about your swing there

Do you think it's time for a new set of irons?
spam replied to cm70056's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
probably not a bad idea the combos are not bad. you still get help were you need it and the scoring irons play better. just prepare yourself mentally so if you have a bad round you dont lose confidence. Good luck im sure you will love them. i did then i bought my x forged set and will never look back -
Project X 6.0 vs stock taylormade stiff shafts
spam replied to Jeremie Boop's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
i am gonna have to lean to the side that you will lower your ball flight. they have a fitting guid that will break it down if you go to px web site it will tell you what will happen to your ball flight. well what could happen to your ball flight. like i said it lowered my flight a bit which is what i wanted due to playing in the pacific northwest it gets a little windy and heavy here at times and i dont like the ball real high anyway -

Project X 6.0 vs stock taylormade stiff shafts
spam replied to Jeremie Boop's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
im guessing the shafts in your driver and hibrid are graphite. im not sure on kickpoint i have never been that nuts abon that subject i just hit stuff until i find what i like. i would say that the 6.0 is a lttle stiffer and probably gonna lower your trajectory a bit. thats what it did to me after switching from the jz stiffs in my pings. what are you looking for with changing your shafts? if its stiffness i think you will get that but your ball flight will probably be lower -
Project X 6.0 vs stock taylormade stiff shafts

what shafts are in the clubs now as far as flex. and your swing speed is huge too. i play a 6.0 and love the ball flight i get. have you hit a club with that shaft yet? its really gonna come down to how they feel to you and ball flight that you desire. -
watch this video it helped me a bunch
-
there is a video on you tube I believe its called best driver video ever breaks down the driver set up. helped me a bunch when I struggled with the driver here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnopJFvTa3Q

try not to set the head of the club on the ground before your back swing. hover the club behind the ball. also make sure when you set up that you have not moved your body forward to the ball set up with the club head and hands in the middle of your stance. when you set up and put the club head and hands right at the ball you have moved the lowest part of your swing to the ball. you wanna catch the ball after the lowest point of your swing. so at set up the ball is just inside your left foot the club head of the driver is set 4 inches behind the ball should keep your lowest point before the ball. try it and see what happens

for a speed drill I set 5 balls down and hit one then try and match the speed the hard part is to not watch the ball or even see were it went at all just try and match the speed I do that for about 20 min. then I will do a series of puts in the 3 ft range and focus on set up and not moving my head. on a three foot putt you should not see it go in just hear it. then I move out 3 feet at a time until I hit say 21 feet then work my way back in. I usually only use a 5 ball system. main part that I have struggled with is moving my head to watch the putt. try and hold your head were the ball was for at least the count of 3 after you putt. hope this helps.

Do you think it's time for a new set of irons?

well said. -
there is no rule to this its a confidence thing. what works for you may not work for me. there are times were I will come across a par 3 I just don't have a club for say 115 so I will tee up a little higher to get the ball up in the air and take some distance off. but that is what I do. others in that situation will drop the ball on the ground. its all in what works for you when you find it stick with it. don't worry so much on who your playing with and how they set up that's were your mind gets in the way of your swing. always play your game
-
lucky you I have been on the IR the last week or so. I strained my back moving a friend. I am hoping to be able to play next week but will probably have to leave the driver in the bag lmao

Do you think it's time for a new set of irons?
spam replied to cm70056's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
my question for you is have you lost confidence in the clubs your playing? if so maybe yes you should go demo multiple sets of irons to see what you like. without demo time with a iron you may get to the course or range with a club you bought and feel the same way you do about your Dunlop's. Also my question is do you hit a lot of shots fat or thin do you pull the ball or slice. these answers will let you know if its the club or the swing. this game is based on confidence if you lose it its hard to regain. by fixing your swing if that's the problem you might like your clubs again. and save a hand full of money. if you seek a pro and find out your swing is good then yes get clubs. or if you have lost confidence and can afford a new set of sticks demo them and purchase the clubs you like the most and feel the best with. but always remember this you can not buy a better game. you can buy lessons and clubs the game part is on you to work on. hope this helps -
have you got a chance to hit the clubs? how was the feel?
-
I have always hated the waiting game.
-
i woud have to agree that it could have just been the golf gods smiling upon you.
-
that should work. cant wait to hear the review.
-
I would say you would be ok with a uninflected with the swing speed of 85 and that should give you a lower more penetrating ball flight not to low but not real high either. I don't like a real balloony ball flight but some like it high so it's up to you and your preference.
-
I did not care much for the ball flight I got with the stiff in the dg shaft tried x stiff and the firm but again you may like them. Gigs has great reviews and for the price it's worth it. I myself have only used the acumen from hireko. Hireko has not shaft choices also.
-
looks like a nice set of sticks. and the price is right. have you hit clubs with the dg shafts before? i hate to say it but if you have not you might want to before you cant cancel just in case. shafts do make a difference in feel and ball flight. also are you sure you need the firm flex. im guessing you knew the flex since you just had the fitting. the only reason i ask is cause i have never been a real fan of the dg shafts i have played the project x and kbs and dg and liked the kbs and am playing the project x 6.0 right now. so yea if you have not hit with the dg try them first and also try other shafts they may offer.

Yea call your local pro shop and see if they can bend them the rest of the way for you
-
cause if thats from the factory you could probably get the pro shop to bend them the .25* or even the 1.25* for the other.
