  1. For anyone having trouble out of the sand, PLEASE try to hit the sand shot one handed with the right hand only (for righties). I practiced this shot in the sand bunker at my practice facility and it worked like a charm. this past weekend, I played 36 at championsgate in orlando and everytime i went in the bunker i played the one handed shot. Everyone laughed each time i hit a perfect shot. I promise it WORKSSSSS!!!!
  2. at first i thought you were just in a rut....but then it began to sound like you didnt like to play with anyone....."they cant even break 85, or he was so annoying".... How about relaxing and attempt to have a good time while you get to play. One day you will be married with three kids wishing you could get out for 9. Or worse yet, you might turn into that same old timer who was so annoying. Be cool, relax, enjoy the game.
  3. I have the same issue at times myself. My normal ball flight is a high slight draw. But when my nemisis rears his ugly head, it turns into a severe double cross (especially on long irons, hybrids and that stupid three wood i continue to try and use). Draw turns into a hook, snap hook or the like. At the range yesterday, I worked on better ball contact by placing a tee on each side of the ball and focusing on staying down through contact. I also did as mentioned in the previous posters message, keep hands high on follow thru and firing towards the target. All worked well to give me a straight ball flight - sometimes with a slight fade. I did however have the occasional hook creep in, but i chalk that up to breaking the habit. I feel it all goes back to the subconscious when i learned the game and was told to learn how to hook the ball. Now the fade is nearly impossible to reproduce with any consistancy. (Try slowing down the transition, as this helps when i need the fade on drives). BTW- I see you have Callaway's X-18...I use X-20's....could those offset hosels be contributing? I know that the squareway FT-i that i have looks like it is set up to pull hook my shot, and it is nearly impossible for me to hit straight. I have given up on that 3wd and stick with hybrids instead.
  4. Ok, so i am practicing the weakest part of my game today (and yes i know its should be the easiest and for all the reasons why), but mentally i must be at a loss because i cannot grasp the "feel" of the shot around the bunker. I have tried all of my lofts 64, 60, 56 and 52 (yes i carry a 64). I know all about the set up with open stance, swinging along my stance line, using the bounce, aiming to the left to compensate for the open blade, etc..... But most of the time i either catch it thin (flies 30 yards over the green) or i leave it in the sand. Both shots are costing me strokes. So i am in the practice bunker today and i am trying everything, when i remember reading to practice hitting the greenside bunker shot with the right hand only (I am righty). From the first shot they are flying perfectly...even holing out on occasion. However, as soon as i try two handed, i go back to the old results. Try again one handed and perfect? I dont get it?????? I am considering taking the one hander to the course if i cant figure this out...What is the left hand doing to &^$# up this one handed shot perfection?
  5. early in the round, and still sober? I hit a 4 iron.... Around 14th, pressing? opt for the hybrid.
  6. i second the adams comment- i have never hit long shots so well in my life....am debating leaving the 3 wood behind for the 2 hybrid now
  7. agreed! it would probably look alot like what we are seeing now, but at least it would explain the bad shots.
  8. Kim was the one that called out Christina first on that dumb "improving lie" rule. They are all small-folks...nothing will become of any of them... -says the accountant
  9. i knew Christina's swing woundn't hold up! Season is over... pigs, buddhas and frogs.... I will have to find another show
  10. Honestly i dont think Christina is tough enough....not to mention the repeatability of that swimg under pressure. Although i will pull for her since everyone picked on her. I cant forget Kim sitting there, starting the fire of, "she can't do that"...then Lori and Sophie pressing the issue. I thought it classic when Lori turned on Sophie with that line infraction or...alleged line infraction. Christ! I sound like an old lady watching Days of Our Lives!!!! Is Bo still around?
  11. Kim...kinda looks like a young buddha, with a head dress....we'll call her Mrs. Siddartha. Sophie- the fishing frog=or shall i say the french hooker? She turned on Christy faster than a....well.....you can fill in the joke. Lori- Wilbur!!!!!! I normally like fat people, cause they realize that looks aint going to get them anywhere, so they may as well be amicable. Not this sow. C- Cute at times...but that FORE!!!!!!!head...Keep the hat on, and its on!
  12. Response from acushnet: Dear Friend, Yes you may use the Cameron Cloth or Baby Oil and a soft cloth. The Charcoal Mist putter I would oil once a week and the Black Oxide the same. The Black Oxide could probably be oiled a bit more depending on how much you play. The important thing is that you leave the headcover off over night after you have played as the headcover can hold moisture if you have played in damp conditions. I hope this information is helpful. Thanks!
  13. Excellent advice....I took it to the course today and was killing the 3 wood with little effort. The concept of picking the wood nearly straight up halfway through my backswing not only was easy to conceptualize, but also got me hitting my driver and hybrids straighter and farther. Thanks a ton.
  14. Just remember to duck.......
  15. Like anything in life, if it works for you and it doesnt F(*^&^% with anyone, knock yourself out!
