  1. thanks all for your suggestions. I think that I am going to be buying a ton of sleeves over the internet, and try them out over the next few days. Ill also post some reviews of the balls over the next week or so. The balls i will try out are: e5+ Taylormade TP-Red (2007 Edition) Srixon Trispeed Top Flite Gamer Callaway Hot Bite Thanks again for your help.
  2. with the e5+, do you get a good amount of spin on the ball? how is the workability around the greens for you?
  3. heh heh heh. Yea , well on a bad day, my drives travel about 500 yards, maybe 600 if i feel like it, an average day is around 800 for me, fa show. in fact, jason zuback is my caddy!!! lol, no my average is around 210, but I have an accuracy 68g shaft, rather be straight down with workability, than 400 yards in mud.
  4. Hi all, I am looking to change my golf ball, just because I want to start to advance in this sport, and I need a ball to move up with me, with a teenagers budget of course($25 or less). I am looking for a ball that will have a nice soft feel, and great greenside playability, but I can't seem to find one I like. I would like to not lose a lot of distance, but that is alright if I do, I prefer accuracy and playability to distance. Looking at: Bridgestone e5+ Srixon AD333 Srixon Trispeed Titleist NXT Extreme Any other ball you can think of Thanks guys
  5. It was Palmetto Golf in Miami, FL. We had to all play the whites, which was 5900 yards. Pretty easy course, slope rating of about 124. Nice open and straight fairways, but i guess I needed practice. Who wants to coach me here.
  6. Yea i have a 3w, would you really think that taking that out instead? i thought that a 5w would be better to take out. well, im gonna do this. im gonna buy the 52 degree wedge, and the 56 wedge, and see if i can play without a 60. then i will fo on from there.
  7. Yea, i was thinking that the 5w wouldnt be a tremendous burden to me, because I just do so much with my wedges. My 60º is my clutch club, I use it whenever there is trouble ahead, and it always comes through, but i recently cut the club up beyond repair at this new course that decided rocks in the sand traps was a good idea. the cleveland wedges have some soft metal in teh front, thinking of the Taylormade Z TP wedges. dont think that the vokeys have enough options for me, the Spin milled will just eat my balls up for the first 20 rounds, and then turn into regular vokeys, and clevelands have not had good reviews. i have heard many good things about the TM.
  8. Heh, you want to talk about hard competition, try Miami, FL. I was playing in the 15-18 category, I shot a 78, and I thought I had at least some place in the trophy lineup, but i ended up getting tied at fifth place....weak
  9. I do the Jimmy hendrix of golf. I take my golf club, break it in half, pour lighter fluid on it, start a fire, and dance around it. I do a fist throw, instead of a pump like tiger, i thrust my fist forward. Yea!!!
  10. Hi guys. I have a question on what type of club I need to be using. I am thinking of exchanging my 5 wood out for a 60º wedge, because i just like to have that extra tool to attack the pin. i would be able to pull off flops, pitchs and others from tighter lies that I cant do with a 52 or a high bounce 56. Does anyone follow this logic? thanks guys and gals
  11. I absolutely despise the first shots. i always shank the life out of the ball on the first shot, but then every shot after is great.
  12. My best round was 78 in a school tournament at a 132 slope course, and it was a pretty good day for me. Drives were averaging around 225, and I could place them where I wanted to, my woods kept flying, and irons were attracted to the flag. Wedges were good too, I have a great story to tell. My ball landed in the sand on the second to last hole, and the rule officials were watching us all like hawks. So the ball rolls up to around two inches near the sand rake. I go up to the ball, and the guy says I can't move the rake, or he will give me a stroke for moving the object. I said fine, and set up to "pull a Mickelson"...heheh thats my new phrase. I open up the face on my trusty 60º wedge, and commit to my shot. When i hit the sand, it slides perfectly under the ball, I get the right amount of sand, and it keeps rolling into the rake. Anyways, I lost the ball in the sand blast, but the rake flew into the air with the head of it broken in half. The ball, i spot on the green a few inches from the pin, and it keeps rolling...rolling..., and then sinks in the cup. That has to be my absolute best birdie in my life. Too bad I didn't win the tournament, lost by two strokes. dang!
  13. Id say that my carry is around 190 to 200, with a good 15 yards of roll. This is on average. Longest drives are usually around 260. I prefer accuracy and workability on my driver, rather then force. Rather be on the fairway and have my awesome iron play, then be 275 yards out in the forest.:D
  14. Right, so a lower bounce is going to be more useful on the fairway, being a flat lie, right? I was trying to distinguish which would be easier to pull off.
