  1. I agree that opening your stance must allow you to clear your hips properly. normally when you open your stance it CAUSES you to fade or slice, becuase now your clubface is open to the target line (your feet). This method is actually a way tiger hits a fade. with an open stance you will be able to turn through the ball better rather then sliding, which is what im guessing your doing. also placing the ball back in your stance would only increase a fade/slice as well. think about it logically. the farther back in your stance the ball is the less time the clubhead has to square up to the ball. Thus the clubface will be open at impact.
  2. I work at a golf store and was measuring my swing speed the other day. My swing speed was lower than it was last year. Ive been hitting balls out on the range for about a month now so it's not rust. any good drills out there that can help me increase my swing speed?
  3. Hey that kind of break is actually fairly common. I work in a golf store and we have people come in all the time with breaks like that. However, it is not very common after ten swings but i've seen people come back after only a couple swings so it's not unheard of. In your pictures, the one on the right may just be that the apoxy didn't hold. real quick and easy fix. yet another reason is because you may be hitting way on the heel. which could do it to.

    Shanks

I realize that you've probably thought of this but in case you haven't try moving a little back from the ball. When you hit a shank its when you hit the hozel so if you just back away a little bit then problem solved.
  5. hey i think that it just might be your confidence because your stroke looks really good. As far as your feet go i wouldn't worry about. I've actually heard that a lot of the great putters actually have their feet open like you do because they can see the line better that way.
  6. I've heard this tip quite a number of times about keeping your right elbow (for right handed golfers) always touching your side throughout your putting stroke. I've tried a couple of times and it didn't seem to make that much of difference. Has anybody else heard of this? and if so does it really help?
  7. Im not what you call a great putter but i'm not horrible either. Most of my focus this summer has gone to putting and while it has improved there seems to be at least 1 or 2 holes that i 3 putt. I was wondering for those of you have had and conquered this problem how you managed to do it.
  8. hey guys im an average golfer but i feel like i have the game to be playing a lot better than i am now if i could just stay focused. I find myself (especially walking from shot to shot) about other things or sometimes even negative things even when i hit a good shot. Ill pipe one down the middle and then say to myself "don't blow this" I know this is a stupid thing to think and i've tried staying positve but that doesn't work for me either. have some of you guys gone through this and if so what'd you do to help you get out it?
  9. There's not much that you can do about it other than step back and really focus on your swing. That's all i would do is just go through my entire preshot routine and focus on the shot.
  10. There's one golfer that I truly hate and could never root for and that is Monty. It's not because he's beaten us in the ryder cup so many times, it's just the way he holds himself. He seems really stuck up and arrogant. ANd talking of pilsbary do boy, him and lefty need to go on some diet and exercise plan. I'm sick of seeing their man boobs everytime i turn on the TV.
  11. Hey i live in Michigan and i cant think of a number of great courses. Rackham Golf Course is a nice easy course that is right next to the Detroit Zoo, right on Woodward. It's fun and challenging at the same time and runs about 18 dollars to walk 18. Some other great course are Shepard's hollow. Bit more pricy but a great couse. Others include St. Johns and Fox Run.
