  1. Wow that sucks man, you handled yourself well though good to show som class. At my course everyday I grab a large bucket of balls (get free practice balls with membership), so about 80 golf balls and just chip them in, pick them all up and repeat. Never had anyone say anything to me about this either thankfully.
  2. -2-3 Times a week I play different courses in the area -Then Range the days I don't play for 3-4 hours. -Then at home I chip balls into the pool and try and hit different targets (pool toys) -Practice on my putting green for 2 hours a night after dinner -See my swing coach 3 nights a week First summer taking golf seriously and my game has improved greatly. Went from about a 17 handicap to a 6.2 in 2 months :) But than again I am doing golf stuff 8 hours a day or more :P
  3. There may be slight technology difference, but nothing major. If you've ever taken an stat's class or some form of marketing, they'll teach you graphs where there is the least amount of supply for the most amount of profit, and where the highest price per unit is vs maximum profit. SC is doing this, he's charging the highest amount he can, sure losing a few customers but making more profit off those few who do buy it. Compared to if he was selling cheaper and more people where buying it. Something is only worth as much as people are willing to pay, people are willing to pay 300 for a scotty, so thats how much its worth. It isn't about advanced technology or anything its about what we are willing to pay for it. Now thats not to say SC aren't the best putters around, I love mine and putt a lot better with it than say other putters. Which might have to do with the mental game of using a SC but if thats what it takes to putt better than that 300 was well worth it in my opinion. Hope that helped you understand a little better
  4. Hmm what Spikes are you using? I use Black Widows and have never had a problem shredding them, I normally change them at the beginning of the year just to get a fresh set in even though they aren't needed...
  5. I definitely shoot better when walking and feel better playing, as I have more time to focus on the shot. Though lately it has been 100 degrees or outside and playing 18 in that heat isn't fun walking so I've been riding to keep some heat off
  6. Well this was an enjoyable thread to read haha... My $.02 is a handicap is good to know for when you play different course's, even if you are just playing for the enjoyment of the game and have no competitive side to it :) Furthermore, boasting an 84 could be miserable (tiger woods), average, or amazing depending on your handicap which is why it is important to have an accurate handicap when boasting. Though no everyone plays to keep records and some just for relaxing so they don't need a handicap to tell them how they are playing. But when boasting here its good to know
  7. I would say get either the $299 R7's and pick up a driver as well
  8. I hear you a few weeks ago we had 8 inches of rain in just over 12 hours as well, same thing happened at one of the local course, water washed the bridge away so you can't play those 9... luckily its a 27 hole course so 18 is still playable...
  9. why not get them fitted? and change the loft and lie accordingly?
  10. Congratulations to your son :) Thats a great score for someone his age especially first time out. Must of been proud seeing your son enjoy the game, one of those great father son moments
  11. well if the scratch is deep enough it could compromise the structural integrity of the shaft, in essence if you have a solid impact on the ball, the vibrations could cause the expand to expand eventually causing the shaft to break. This depends on how deep the scratch really is...
  12. I started using that scorecard application (you see up top), as I too used to be afraid of all those numbers and never looked at all aspects of how I got my score but only the final result. It actually helped me figure my game out a fair bit by using the program, putting in numbers and seeing whats working and what isn't. Now this seems like a advertisement for scorecard, but I guess what I am getting at is once you get over the fear and keep track as it is and see where you are losing shots your game will improve greatly. So congratulations on keeping track of those statistics through the game, and keep on keeping track
  13. I never said I was smarter, just a better grasp of the world and more mature. I love how you are putting words in my mouth I never once said that because I went to a private school that I was better than you, I said I was fortunate in going there. But never said that made me better. -Every generation has their good and their bad, I have seen kids from my highschool some of them are going to do extremely well and change things in the world. Not going to comment on the gpa as that is just from your school there are many more. -As far as I am concerned "bitch" isn't a racist term, though it isn't polite still not racist. Our parents generation has paved the way for us here in that there is no longer segregation like there used to be, I know we have it in us to push it away completely. Furthermore, you are putting words in my mouth I never said racism was gone - I said previous generations were more racist than ours. -I am saying my generation because I am apart of it, the person who that response was directed to came from previous generations so therefore it would be my generation not his. -Personally I am not a fan of obama because he hasn't lived up to what he said, and I was against him the whole way because I knew he didn't have the experience. But he has the right message he's trying to instill in us the youth that we can make change if we try. -You don't give yourself or our generation any credit - you think we won't do anything. That is the problem you can make the world change, if our generation works together we will be able to accomplish everything, once our generation gets slightly older out of the teen years and are more mature we will succeed. Sure there are some sour apples in the group but that won't spoil anything. Apoc G - the world is changing, we have better technology and resources now to see how we can solve problems in the world. Will this generation fix everything no, but will we accomplish a lot yes. I never said your degree was meaningless, I said I could prove I am more mature than many adults I meet. I guarantee I could. Maturity isn't based on your education or your age, rather how you conduct yourself. Education and age may factor in, but that isn't the only thing but rather a small thing.
  14. I don't think its the teen's fault rather their parents, should we blame previous generations? Maybe their parents as well for not instilling the right lessons, for them to teach their children? As an 18 year old myself I find it extremely disrespectful when adults are quick to judge me, but in a matter of minutes I can prove I am more mature, more reasonable and hold a better grasp of the world then they could ever dream of. Now I've been fortunate in life and have attended fine institutions for my education, have traveled the world, and have lived in different countries. I don't see my generation as one that will not live up to the expectations that many elderly people give us, but rather we will exceed this even if some wear their jeans below their bottoms, or use profanity more than other words. I truly feel sorry for those that look at MY generation and automatically lose hope for us, I would rather live in my generation then live in one of theirs - where they are more racist more homophobic. MY generation are the ones trying to change the world for the better, we WILL be the one's who overcome many milestones that have once been perceived as unreachable, by YOUR generation because you thought of the change but were unable to reach it because YOU couldn't stop being racists and sticking to your ways. We are capable of changing and adapting for the better. Sorry for this rant, I am just disgusted when people don't give my generation the credit we deserve and let us grow up and enjoy our youth before we are our fixing the problems from global warming to starvation that your generations have left us to clean up.
  15. Ice it to get the swelling down, other than that you just got to keep weight off the toes and let them heal so you'll be ready for next tourny
