Just played a round at TPC Sawgrass with my brother. I was -2 he and shot even. Man, this is great to play golf during the winter. :)

I think you may be right. I got the mat for $15. I just went to the clubhouse and asked if they would sell some of their older driving range mats. I picked it up and it was in great condition.

I got mine for $100. Can't beat that price for something to keep our golf addiction up through the winter.

Hopefully get to scratch by the end of 09. Also to remember to keep my grip light throughout the round. I have a tendency to start tightening my grip as I get fatigued.

I bought a used mat from a local driving range so the ground is even with the pad. I agree that the higher pad as being somewhat a nuisance.

I'm with you on this one. I prefer the feel of an iron.

The "Tour" is also compatible with the PS3, as the "Classic" cannot. I couldn't really justify paying $300 for something to keep me busy for the off season. The Classic gets it done for me though.

I love my MP-33's. They look great and the ability to work the ball at will was what really made me love them. I think they're one of the easier blades to hit.

Just a little update: Had a party earlier this evening and we played a round of golf! It was awesome. Everyone was having fun, even the noobies! Oh and I got it off Ebay for $100. It was a best offer thing and I said what the heck and just offer $100. The guy accepted it! It's actually a store in Buena Park CA. The store is Samy's Discount or something like it.

I finally received my Launchpad today and I must say that I'm quite pleased. First, setup was very easy. It was basically plug and play and the simulator itself is very sturdy. The quality looks to be good as well. The longest part was installing the game onto my computer and I was off playing. The system came with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 05 for the PC. Overall gameplay was very good. This thing worked almost exactly to the simulators at the golf store, but smaller. I tried all different shot shapes and the sensors read it perfectly. I hit draws, fades, punches, hooks, etc. It was pretty sweet to see that happen on TW. So the sensors on the system were legit but we'll see how it goes against the test of time. Also, Electricspin provides a virtual driving range which can be downloaded from their website. I got that as well and it worked quite well. It recorded swing speed, swing path, ball speed, ball spin, etc. It also gave nice graphs of the distances and such. This was a quick review but I'll keep updating as I play some more. My first impressions were very good and I'm enjoying this right now. I'm thinking of setting it up with a big projector and make it a full out simulation. Sweet! $100 for this thing was a steal and I'm very happy with the purchase.

$150 is about right. I got mine in great condition for $140.

To me, a gift card is a gift saying, "Well, I checked you off my list." It shows no thought as gift. Of course, a gift card is a great gift in a different kind of way which I won't get into. But, if he's a long time golfer at 70 years old, what do you think he'll get at the store? More balls? Clubs? He's been playing the game for a long time and I'm sure he's been to the store a few times. I think a personalized golf ball, towel, etc. would be the ideal choice. A few years ago, we refinished my grandfather's old wedge from the 60's and made it look exactly how it looked back then. We got it engraved with my grandfather's name, from us (his grandchildren, and the year). We added a nice card to it as well and my grandfather absolutely loved it. It's now hanging in his living room in a case.

The Black Series putter is actually making me think of trading my Scotty.

I played with NXT's yesterday in about 45* weather.

100yds out is my favorite distance. I've been working on this shot all summer and now at the point where I get on the green 70%-80% of the time. It's usually a PW or my 56* depending on the conditions. It's my putting that keeps my index high.

I got a Tour Edge Exotics 4 wood for $30! Best deal I ever got and is my favorite club in the bag so far.

Oh wow. I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out. Cape Kidnappers was a beautiful course I must say. I saw the views and immediately thought, "I need to play that course someday."

It ended about 2 or so hours ago. It was a great ending. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but there was some solid golf playing going on.

That sucks man. I hope the guy calls you back and you get your money back. Hopefully you'll be a little more careful when getting clubs. The misspelled "Anniversary" should've been a dead giveaway. I'm surprised you missed something like that. Good luck to you though!

Some guy thought I was Anthony Kim the other time I was out on the course. lol. Of course because I'm asian and around the same height as Kim. My swing is decent but it isn't Anthony's.
