  1. Never tried their clubs but I used their tennis racquets and they are top notch quality and design. I wouldn't mind playing their clubs.
  2. I'm not Chris but I usually play on Saturdays and you're welcome to join me and a few buddies if you're in town. I'm not having a problem getting the ball in the air but the launch trajectory is too low for my taste. Sometimes when I'm 180 yards out I get it to and over the green instead of the high soft landing I want. I've narrowed it down to 3 shafts, the Proalaunch Blue, Banazi, V2 high launch hybrid.
  3. Thanks that was very helpful. How do the torque numbers correlate to the ball flight? Lower torque=higher flight? I have the prolaunch blue in my 5 wood and a Aldila NV in my 3 wood (Walmart RPM 17$ special). I may just go grab a few more of those and pulls the shafts, would those work in a hybrid? I know they're a little lighter (75 gram 3.2 torque) and maybe a bit longer but they can always trim it right? Also the tip diamter in the Adams is .370 can I use a .335 shaft since it's smaller?
  4. I'm a big fan of smaller head drivers, after trying a few of the new 460cc's I decided I don't like most of them except a few (TM Tour Burner TP and Adams A3 XTD). I have been teeing off with my R7 CGB max 3 wood with good success (220-250 total yards) and I picked up a R7 425 with a Fuji Speeder 569 tonight. I think having a smaller head subconciously forces you to hit the center of the face instead of just making contact with the ball anywhere on a huge 460cc head giving you better overall results.
  5. I misspoke, I can hit the ball square and get it up in the air but it's a lower launch angle than I like for a hybrid. I prefer something with a higher launch and softer landing and I find that I'm hitting too many low burners with the Prolaunch red stiff and SR3 stiff. Both shafts feel dead and boardy and I don't feel like I can load them at all with my lower swing speed but I think the heads are good so I'm just looking to replace the shafts. There's a reputable club fitter around the corner, I may pay them a visit. In the meantime I'm just looking for suggestions on a good high launch hybrid shaft that I can throw in both these clubs. I'm hoping you guys can point me to a good source and help me figure out what tip/characteristics etc I need such as (torque, kickpoint etc). In my search I didn't see many reasonably priced hybrid shafts, most seem to be pulled from fairway woods so I'm not sure if they would work or would be the correct weight/length etc.
  6. Went to PGA superstore and they quoted me $15 per club for labor. They want 60 for a Proforce V2 high launch hybrid shaft. I'm looking to spend more like 20-25 per shaft and don't care if it's a good pull, is there a good place to buy a good high launch hybrid shaft for a good price?
  7. I had a stiff SR3 in my 4DX draw and I wasn't that impressed with the feel, I really don't like the stiff flex SR3 in the hybrid, it feels like a board with my low swing speed.
  8. That sounds like a deal, where can I find one? Also is that new or a pull? If it's a pull what do I need to look for to make sure it's not junk and can be installed sucessfully? I guess labor is 10-15 bucks to have a shaft pulled and swapped? I have a Proforce V2 R flex in my Nickent driver and it seems quite a bit stiffer than any other R flex shaft I've hit before. Is the high launch a little softer?
  9. You mean you won't be using your mom's credit card at golfsmith anymore
  10. I put a few of my hybrids for sale as I just can't hit them up in the air consistently. The Nickent 4DX 23 degree has the stock SR3 shaft in stiff flex and the Adams A3 Boxer 19 degree has the Prolaunch red. The Prolaunch doesn't specify a flex. I normally use regular flex in everything and I think that one shaft is too stiff for my swing and the other is known to be low launch (Prolaunch red). Instead of starting all over I thought about trying to re-shaft both hybrids with something in regular flex that's easier to hit and help me get the ball in the air. Can you reccomend me a good but reasonable priced hybrid shaft, maybe something with high launch? Where can I buy individual shafts that fit my spec without spending the same amount of money as buying a whole new club? What's the usual labor cost at a big box retailer like golf galaxy or PGAtoursuperstore to get the work done? My swing speed is between 88 and 91 mph for driver and I shoot low to high 90's (a bit inconsistent). I'm just looking for my hybrids to go fairly straight from 180-220 yards between the 2 since I hit my 5 iron to about 170-180. I play from the whites so I rarely need to hit anything off the deck 250+. Also keep in mind I know nothing about reshafting clubs, so I don't really understand what tip diameter, tip prep etc really means but would love to learn. Thanks in advance.
  11. I have the same problem, even with a 12 degree loft driver with a R flex shaft. My driver swing speed is around 91 mph. I've also tried a 10.5 stiff flex with similar results. Strangely I can hit my 3 wood off the tee 220-250 yards (carry and roll). I think I'm going to pick up the R7 425.
  12. How do you add the custom points, do you download the maps and then pick points on the computer and program them in or can you essentially pick the point on course. For instance if you download the map and tee off then you have a creek in front of you on the next shot can you pick the creek as a custom point on the spot or did you have to program it in ahead of time?
  13. If there's a Golfsmith brick and mortar store in your state then you get charged tax. Not sure about the 9 day thing though. IMO golfsmith pretty much sucks in general.
  14. -Nike Slingshot OSS in black/silver -Used it a year -Looks good, has 14 full length dividers and big storage pockets and has been durable so far. -It would be cool if one of the large pockets on a side was an insulated cooler, I don't need 2 huge pockets, I put shoes in one of them.
  15. Says the kid that just bought a new Nike driver and Ping irons within the last month.
  16. Because I can't hit it 300 yards straight most of the time. But really it's just good plain fun.
  17. I hope gas goes up to 6 bucks a gallon, less idiots on the road (especially soccer moms in Escalades) around here in Dallas and it doesn't affect me much. Plus alternative fuel sources being developed is a good thing.
  18. Paddy, Phil is a choker.
  19. I had that problem with the traditional rubber grip that comes on most irons (more like a car tire not the soft squishy type). I then switched all my grips to soft Winn grips (DSI and G8) and now I don't need to wear a glove and I don't get blisters.
  20. Does the long putter help with stability? I mostly have a problem with a straight back and straight through motion. I always push/pull the downswing and move my putts either a few inches right of left of the hole and lip them out. Would I be better off with a long putter or a heavier putter?
  21. I threw my putter and it hit the cart, luckily it hit the rubberized floor board and didn't do any damage.
  22. LOL, my email notification that someone had posted to the thread doesn't show pictures. I just saw the words Kawasaki ZX10R and it would take 18,000 at your current job to buy it. Then I looked up the MSRP for the bike which is around 10 grand and thought, what the hell you make 56 cents an hour?
  23. Myspace is for 14 year old girls to yap about how they made out with their junior high crush. Facebook is an adult social networking tool.
  24. Is it 18 bucks a set even for old clubs? I have a set of eye 2's black dot and I'm not sure if I play standard or not. My local golf galaxy said they can't bend Ping, I'd need to send it in to them.
