  1. hey shank, thanks a lot. it's the first time i've been immortalized in a signature before!
  2. It's interesting that many seem to hook their hybrids. That's the exact opposite of me. Lately I've had a nice high slice with my 4 hybrid when I used to hit the thing 200 with a slight draw. I'm beginning to lose faith in it, but then again my 3 and 4 irons suck so I guess I'll have to sort things out.
  3. Don't you want a correct yardage?
  4. Yes. This happened to me last round. i was +5 through 7 with 3 pars (great for me). I look at the card think damn I have a chance at my best nine ever. Finish double-quadruple and completely ruin my round. It's very hard to remain stable but it's a must if you want to avoid these sort of meltdowns.
  5. haha oh man these are funny :)
  6. I love playing my 18 hole par 3 course. Used to play it every week before I was good enough to brave the par 72. Still play it occasionally. Most holes are 100-140 yards, a couple longer and a couple shorter. It's pretty straightforward, only a few bunkers and one water hazard. My best score is 65, which i've shot twice. several other rounds in the 60s. Shot even par 27 on the back nine once. The back is easier but I was really on it that day.
  7. I agree. Nice post. College Basketball is a lot more fun to me than the NBA. It basically gets CBS coverage on Saturdays from January through March and is hyped up big. The difference between the two is when they talk about a big college game or march madness I get stoked and can't wait for the games. When they talk about the NBA, meh, it's just not as exciting or there isn't as much energy behind it to me. But the one difference I think between it and the LPGA is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.
  8. I'm actually one of those that likes playing basketball, but couldn't care less about the NBA or the WNBA. there are too many egos in the NBA and frankly the game is boring when comparing it to the college game. You are right about non-golfers watching golf. Before I got into golf, I was wondering why the hell anyone could watch this stuff, so boring. Most everyone I know don't play golf and think golf on tv is the funniest thing ever. obviously, they don't appreciate the game like you or I do but the point is that a lot of non-golfers not only don't watch on tv, but many will even give a little chuckle like "Golf is the most boring sport ever" when you mention it to them.
  9. Yeah I do this too, except for me it's almost EVERY time. I stick to my 3 wood which outdrives my driver by 30-40 yards almost every time.
  10. I understand that some people don't like watching sub-par golf and that is a legit reason to some I suppose. However, I wonder how many among us here watch the Nationwide Tour?
  11. Don't worry Duffy, you and I like and respect the LPGA women.
  12. takes 1-10 seconds to update my twitter. Anyways, twitter is pretty cool. I thought it was lame at first but it is actually pretty cool. I actually get a lot of my news there before I read about it or hear about it on television. People are like, yeah I saw on the news this plane crashed in the Hudson. And I say, yeah I read about that 5 hours ago. I think it's really cool to keep up with what is going on wherever you want, around the world, around the country, around the PGA tour, or around your circle of friends.
  13. I'm sorry, he was charged with manslaughter, not murder.
  14. I interpreted " It's a man thing and thats all there is to it!!" as, "Golf is a man thing and that's all there is to it!!" If you didn't mean golf, then what is "It" referring to?
  15. and why is it that golf should only be a man's sport? there must be a reason (besides history).
  16. Yes they happened in different states but it still doesn't stop the average person from wondering the lack of balance between 30 days for murder and 2 years for carrying a concealed weapon and doing harm to YOURSELF. I understand it's a state by state issue but just from an objective position it's hard to see balance with these two cases.
  17. He claimed that it's a man's sport and that men don't watch because there are women on the course. Now that's either A) sexist (i.e. the ONLY reason not to watch is because women are playing) or B) he feels it an attack on his manhood to watch women play better than him (I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here and not assuming it's choice A).
  18. Oh my god, I think you just solved my problem right there as well.
  19. I never knew so many men were so worried about feeling inferior to a woman before. I'm a guy and I think that's sad.
  20. I agree 1000000%. I love watching the girls play and if Paula's in the mix, the LPGA gets the nod over the PGA (provided it's not a major).
  21. Oh.My.God. I recently splurged on the Titleist 909 F2 3 wood (15.5*) and played my first round with it today. The club is amazing. I tried it out on the 2nd hole because my driver is so inconsistent and I hit the thing 240 yards the first time. If I'm lucky, I can hit my driver that far maybe once in a round. Needless to say I teed up with the 3W for the rest of the round. I averaged more yardage over the whole round than I do with my driver. I was slicing the thing a little bit towards the end but that was my fault. It's a great club.
  22. 94 THIS ROUND WAS SO ANNOYING. Was set up perfectly for a career round and give up the whole damn thing on 9/10 and 17/18. I am literally disgusted b/c i was playing so well and it all just slipped away on 2 or 3 holes....
  23. God forbid people show passion when they're competing.

    2009 Solheim Cup

It was a very enjoyable day of golf. really enjoyed watching it. There was a bit of me that was hoping for Kim to miss her clinching putt so we wouldn't have to endure her celebration. Luckily Pressel's was the winning match instead. A little bit of Christina Kim goes an awful long way. I'm all for showing excitement and intensity but sometimes it's a little too much from her. It was thrilling watching everyone else however.
  25. I don't get what is wrong with it.
