Whenever you buy a new set regardless of what brand, you have to take them to a reputable clubmaker/repairman to get the lofts and most importantly the lies checked. With that said, you have to be lie checked, I can't tell you how much of a difference there can be in one set of clubs. The same goes for shafts, they may say they are a certain flex but in most cases they are not. I have had to bend every set of clubs I've had in the last 20 years. Chinese anyone. Just 2 weeks ago I had a local bring me a brand new set of Taylormade irons and they were anywhere from 1 degree up to 1 down, the lofts varied by 1 and a half degrees on some clubs. Then to make matters even worse the swingweight varied throughout the set. So if you want to drive a nail with an axe it might not make a difference to you after awhile. Those with forged clubs, depending on how much you practice and play should check your lofts often like 3 times a year.

There are 4 types of swings in the game Easy, RTS real time swing, PS power stroke and classic which can be a 2 click or 3 click. Yes graphics are 3d rendered and a fairly good video card is a must but not absolutely necessary. I have played online from my laptop with onboard graphics while on the road.

I was wondering now that the snow is flying and its cold how many people play PC Golf. Even though the game is 7 years old I still play Links 2003, I find the game more pure golf than TW. It works with all windows based OS except windows 7. Microsoft Game studios IMO made their big mistake by creating a pure golf sim but the biggest mistake was realeasing the Arnold Palmer Course Designer (APCD) giving access to thousands of designers creating thousands of courses, (1592 free courses available) like this fictional rendition also the ability to create animations and create clothes and create golf clubs, like my cleveland irons I use in this shot on Augusta's #16 yes they still sell this game on e-bay and at the Links Country Club http://www.linkscountryclub.com/download they have a demo game there. I said respected not idolized, big difference. I had many conversations with many people including a personal friend who is in the golf hall of fame that shared this respect for Tiger, for the very values we thought he had. My Driver swing speed is the same as yours and I went to the Bridgestone fitting at my local range. I have played Titleist for close to 30 years last few using ProV's. It was recommended that I try the Bridgestone E5+ (called the poor mans ProV) I was ecstatic when I hit them. Launch angle improved spin rate was good, feel was gr8. Seemless technology so no matter how it sits the distance the ball carries is the same (when I make good contact lol). So after using the free 3 pack I went out and bought my first dozen. WOW!!! $25.99 Woohoo I strongly recommend them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that in a bunker you can remove rocks and things that shouldn't normally be in a sand trap like apples and bannana peels etc. Also if you can remove twigs and branches and rocks and leaves etc. around your ball can you put your finger on the ball to make sure it doesn't move while taking these actions? I do know that if your ball changes position (without touching the ball) while taking these actions it is a penalty. It seems to me that we are at the mercy of the track we play, some courses I have played are quite sloppy. It has always seemed unfair to be sitting on top of a fallen branch in the fairway and have to play it as it lies. The rub of the green is killing me.

From the penthouse to the outhouse. Played in a Senior Tournament (36 holes) shot 36-36=72 the first day making it in the final pairing and played the second round in 44-35=79. Good enough to tie for 7th best score out of 104 participants. Really tough to play golf at a course without a range to warm up, just goes to show that getting started in the wrong direction is really tough to turn it around. Every shot on the front landed in a bad spot, of course my tee ball put me there. Rhythmn, where was my rhythmn.

35 last night 45 tonight. 3 hours to play 9 holes behind 4 groups of 70 to 80 year olds. I think they went faster on the Bataan Death March than we did tonight. One of my playing partners a 4 hdcp shot 50 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee plop.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr shot 35 tonight (w/dbl bogie)in the thursday night skin game ($50 poverty) and all my birds were tied, does anyone know of a way to break the jinx I'm in. 6 weeks with out a skin, I'm goin bankrupt. I (Can't even break through with a pin shot had 2 within 10 feet and both were beat. I hate this game lol.

Retired Golf Pro and retired pipefitter hence the name PipePro. 50 years golfing and over 30 as a Golf Pro (Amateur now). Worked every part of the golf business from cart boy, course maintenance, club pro, assistant general manager, golf shop owner (off course), club maker, club repair, mini-tour player (briefly), and teacher. Not in that order. Look forward to talking golf from time to time when the weather doesn't permit play.

I have had a GolfTek Swing Analyzer system for 4 years. It uses the GTV-1 and Pro-Grafix programs. System cost back then was $19,700 and I charged $75 an hour. Each Video lesson consisted of approximately 30 captured swings with analysis and suggestions, plus a disc with their swings attached. Also, a side by side comparison with either a computer swing model or a Professionals swing. I have used this system for everyone from 8 year olds to Tour pros, males and females. It is so worth the time, but my suggestion is to not take your swings (on a disc or tape)and look at a bad swing. Only bad swing thoughts can come of that. I did try to only copy the students best swings. Unfortunately now I have retired and only use the system for my best friends and myself. Maybe I'll sell it one day.

Played in my Thursday evening 9 hole skin game and 2 of my buddies wanted to play 9 before that so I got in an 18 hole round. We had 6 birdies for our group on the first 9. I only had 1 and shot even, then came the big game I know skin games are more luck than skill when you and the competition are equal but I'm having a very bad run this year my birdies and even eagles are being tied at an alarming rate. I shot 3 over on the back and donated again YIKES!!! Gonna play a casual round with my son-in-law today watch I'll blister the course lol
