Played 36 holes at my club yesterday (two courses), carrying my own bag in a very hot African autumn sun. I havent played 36 in years. It was just tragic on the second round, shooting 10 over handicap and shuffling my feet like a real lifeweary old man. But the company was good and the courses beautiful.

I opted for C - I have better chance with a full wedge on the 3rd shot, on perfect yardage for a GW, and a putt to make that par - than to go for broke with a lot of sand left, into which I will be drawing if I go for broke on the 2nd shot, because I will not be willing to take the draw line on or from the water on the right.

Yes sorry, I left the 5W out, which I hit 215 yards - which makes it 13 clubs + putter. My wedges are Vokey SM4's, with the normal steel shafts. My 7 - 9 irons are Taylormade Superburners with stiff custom graphite shafts (trying to establish some kind of continuity of 'feel' [I dont take divots and pick the ball clean] between the 3 irons and 4 hybrids), which, perhaps because of the less weight, I do hit proportionally further than the wedges. It does leave me with a problematic 30 yard window between the 9 Iron and PW, which I normally play with a chuck down 8 Iron. I can hit the PW up to 125 yards though, but then I force the club and the normal 2 - 3 meter draw becomes a 6 meter hook. Thanks for picking up the club I left out.
