  1. Welcome!
  2. Welcome (back) Scott!
  3. Martin Kaymer 1 63 69 72 71 275 $1,800,000 Jim Furyk 2 70 68 72 66 276 $1,080,000 Sergio Garcia 3 67 71 69 70 277 $680,000 I am glad Kaymer held on; he deserved a proper comeback win. But Furyk and Garcia (of course, Spieth as well) would have been noble winners. I enjoyed this Players'; for some reason, I was spellbound by the guys chasing Martin's Thursday score.
  4. His other go-to verbum - where the rest of us would just say f*ck - is 'oh golly'. Simple, but beautiful creature, that Matt
  5. Great back nine Martin Kaymer - albeit 1 - 9 - that 29 was really special
  6. Welcome Graeme! Nice set of sticks you got yourself there
  7. Welcome Josh, and good luck with rebuilding your game
  8. I have no idea where the name of the forum orginated from, to be honest. Perhaps one of the moderators would be able to tell you.
  9. Welcome Luke! This is indeed a very special forum.
  10. Congrats to JB Holmes for holding and hanging in there; well done.
  11. Welcome BC!
  12. Hearty welcome to you!
  13. Welcome Mark; good luck with your golf and best to everyone who are involved in rebuilding those damaged courses.
  14. Welcome Mike!
  15. Welcome Jay!
  16. Thank you sir
  17. Just two pictures from one of the courses at my club - Randpark, Johannesburg, South Africa My son walking the fairway on the first fairway on Bushwillow Beautiful Egyptian geese next to the 16th fairway, Bushwillow
  18. Welcome Eddie!
  19. Welcome Smurf!
  20. Welcome Mike!
  21. Played 36 holes at my club yesterday (two courses), carrying my own bag in a very hot African autumn sun. I havent played 36 in years. It was just tragic on the second round, shooting 10 over handicap and shuffling my feet like a real lifeweary old man. But the company was good and the courses beautiful.
  22. I have created a little Ecco logo for use in signatures - to whom or what moderator can I e-mail it to upload it in the smileys/logo tab?
  23. I opted for C - I have better chance with a full wedge on the 3rd shot, on perfect yardage for a GW, and a putt to make that par - than to go for broke with a lot of sand left, into which I will be drawing if I go for broke on the 2nd shot, because I will not be willing to take the draw line on or from the water on the right.
  24. Yes sorry, I left the 5W out, which I hit 215 yards - which makes it 13 clubs + putter. My wedges are Vokey SM4's, with the normal steel shafts. My 7 - 9 irons are Taylormade Superburners with stiff custom graphite shafts (trying to establish some kind of continuity of 'feel' [I dont take divots and pick the ball clean] between the 3 irons and 4 hybrids), which, perhaps because of the less weight, I do hit proportionally further than the wedges. It does leave me with a problematic 30 yard window between the 9 Iron and PW, which I normally play with a chuck down 8 Iron. I can hit the PW up to 125 yards though, but then I force the club and the normal 2 - 3 meter draw becomes a 6 meter hook. Thanks for picking up the club I left out.
