  1. Yesterday I shot a 42, my personal best. Drove the green on #3- 251 yd straight out, hit a 3 woods perfectly and landed on the green, missed eagle put, and bird put, ended with par. #4, 213 uphill slightly right, hit the 3 wood again and drove green, missed eagle put but tapped in birdie put. Today I shot a 43 at the same course. #1 241 downhill slightly, hit 3 iron, landed on green, hit pin, rolled off, lobbed on, sank bird put. #6 I chipped in from 25 feet. #9 I had birdie. Everything else was par, 2 bogs, one double, and a horrid 4 over. Should have had a 39 if I would have parred the one I shot four over on.
  2. That's what I heard, but I really don't know. I'd pass also.
  3. I'm not sure. For one, the hosel seems way too long, and another thing is that the colors seem off. That might just be due to poor lighting. Also, Callaway puts a serial number on the 8 iron, but that set is missing one. Ask him to send you better pics of the face and back of the club.
  4. This helped me, but might not help you. I hit my irons good but my drives sucked. I moved my hands about an inch right of the grip and keep my left arm straight the whole way through. No lie, yesterday I hit one striahg tdrive around 250 and today I hit five fairways and my average drive was around 260-265. I chunked one drive and sliced tow. Only one of the slices was unplayable, though.
  5. This year: R&J; sports stand bag Talylormade Supersteel 250 driver Callaway Great Big Bertha Driver Pinemeadow 64* Lob wedge Odyssey White Steel #1 putter Wilson Prostaff 3 wood About 25 dozen golf balls Plan to get this year: Taylormade 580 driver Ping g10 clone irons (next year probably) New white putter grip from Odyssey Tour Trek Sahara Stand bag Adidas 360 white slime shoes some new golf balls
  6. Theres a course near me that has about 6 short par 4's in the 200-240 yard range. I hit my three iron on #13 which was a 238 yd par 4, and was 6 feet from the green. I still shot par anyway, but thats the closestI've ever come to to have a hole in one on a par four.
  7. Get to play in my first match Monday. Shoot a fifty and made the top 4th out of 5 scores that would play.Should have had a 47 or around there but I putted a par put in with the flagstick in cause no one would tend it. Also, on #8, a par five, I hit one into the no mow zone ane one into the water to end the hole with a 9.
  8. I want that second one. That looks like it could help with my stroke a lot.
  9. I read about this yesterday. I think its an incredible idea.
  10. Thank you Quillume. I personally wouldn't fork over the mula for it.
  11. Just got my first on Saturday. A short 227 yard par 4, hit a 4 iron about 185, pitched it onto the fringe, hit a seven iron about 5 feet away a drain the put. Felt great.
  12. What is shaft puring?
  13. An 11. Was playing a practice round to qualify for a high school match and was almost guaranteed a spot. 8 guys playing for 5 spots, normally 10 guys shooting for 5-6 spots. Missed 3 different birdie putts, four putts for par, and 1 bad drive. Had a 41 throughout seven. Teed up on 8, par 5 540 some yards. Hit my driver about 220 into the short rough. Shanked a four iron into a sand bunker 20 yards in front of my, but it rolled out onto the 75 degree incline lip. Hit a seven off the lip, went over my head, back behind me into the sand. Tried to use the seven to get out, hit the lip, hit the lip again and finally hit one out about 20 yards. About now I still have around 200 yards to go. I hit my 6 iron straight but was aimed to right and hit one into the water, drop in the designated zone, chipped in on from 15 yards over a pond, two putted. Ended up with a 57 because i missed another put for birdie and missed the par put and ended it with 5 on a par three. That should have been my first match to play in this season.
  14. I play with a sttel shafted Dunlop 7 wood. I use it for the same reason you want to. It does the job, but I'd rather have an iron or hybrid so I could hit it out of the rough better and longer.
  15. Serene Valley- 76/174 from the white tees. There are only white and red tees and a total of under 6600 yards.
  16. On my team we get one polo shirt, a Ping Hooffer bag with school colors and logo, every couple of practice rounds about a dozen golf ball found on the course, and free play at our home course during the season.
  17. The loft of a fairway wood is typically 15 degrees for a standard 3-wood, 19 degrees for a 5-wood, and 24 degrees for a 7-wood. The loft of the 5-wood corresponds to a 2-iron, and the 7-wood to a 4-iron. Many intermediate golfers are using these woods as reliable substitutes for the corresponding irons. I just found this. Mabey I should use my 5 wood instead because I wanted to replace my thrre iron with something easier to hit.
  18. I wanted to buy a new hybrid, but I was looking at my old set of Dunlop Clubs and noticed there was a seven wood. It is just a little bigger than a traditional hybrid and has a steel shaft. I hit it far and high off the tee and deck. What is the average loft of a seven wood? What hybrid could this replace loft wise? Thanks in advance.
  19. I'd trade you straight up for my Oddysey White Steel #1 putter. How long is your shaft?
  20. Shot a 49 at one course and a hour later shot a 52 at a much harder course, my best there this year.
  21. I love my Great Big Bertha 8.5* x-stiff shafted driver. Used it today to hit a drive 240 into the middle of the fairway.
  22. Forgot one. $7 for 9 and walkin and $11 for 18 walking. $10 for 9 and cart and $15 for 18 and a cart.
  23. At the course I play most often it is $15 for 9 and a cart, $25 for 18 and a cart, about 3-5 bucks less walking. The course my highschool team plays at is $25 for 9 for a junior, $35 for 9 and a cart, 60 something for 18 and a cart. I've never payed moore than 15 dollars to play, though, because I get to play at the expensive course for free.
  24. Thats cool. I made my team this year, too. We take our top six to away games and play the top six at home games too. Haven't played yet as I had to tryout a week after season started because I was on vacation. If I do good this wednesday, I wil be playing my fisrt official game for the team.
