  1. Ok, well that is a relief then. I won't worry about it. I really would like to be a good ball striker and that was bugging me.
  2. When I am on the driving range next to someone who is a good ball striker I can hear the "hiss" sound that the ball makes as it comes off the club head of the person next to me. I don't hear that same hiss on my shots. Was wondering if I'm not creating it or if I just can't hear it. Thought?
  3. I've often heard that a good ball striker's irons will eventually show a small worn spot on the face of the club where he is repeatedly making contact with the ball. Does anyone have a picture that shows what this looks like? The face of my club is scratched all over the place so I'm just curious. Thanks
  4. I have a GPS (GolfLogix) and I like it a lot. I think it's the better choice if you can only get one. The reason I say that is because I play with a guy who has a laser and depending on the course, his laser is not useful on quite a few holes. We played at a course a couple weeks ago that had a lot of doglegs, elevated greens and blind shots. He was simply out of luck on some of those holes while I had no problem getting yardages from my GPS. Now if I had the money I would also get a laser to use at the driving range so I could see exactly how far the targets are from me.
  5. This is turning into a great Masters already. Kenny trying to get a major, AK charging, Tiger, Lefty and Paddy in contention. I love it!
  6. Are you standing too upright? If so, try bending over more. I find that if I am too upright I can hook and slice a lot more easily. If I bend over properly it's actually hard for me to hook it even if I'm really trying to.
  7. Try searching for the state golf association where you live. For example, the Washington state golf association, http://www.thewsga.org has the information listed under Championships -> Championship Information -> USGA Qualifying.
  8. Hit a 7 iron to about 5 feet from 150 yards out. Made the putt for my first birdie since I took up the game again after 15+ years away.
