See your point, but I think it could put your tempo off since the clubs will not have the same swingweight and flex. You should try impact tape on your x-18s, those will give you a nice feedback on where you hit it on the face.

This cant be happening, the sh**ks???
FlopScotty replied to MellowYellow's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I have just gotten over the shanks. I have done some research and got help from an instructor. There can be a lot of different reasons for this and moving further away from the ball might not help at all. Post a couple of swing vids so we can have a look at it. I know how frustrating it can be so I would be glad to help;) The first thing my instructor told me on my first lesson with the shanks was that he had seen it before and he was going to see it again from people with much lower hcp than me:=) -
Casio Exilim EX-FS10 vs. Kodak Zi8, ZX1, etc...

Nope, don't think so. It's perfect for golf analysis. You can get a good price now cause the new models from Casio are coming soon. -
Casio Exilim EX-FS10 vs. Kodak Zi8, ZX1, etc...
FlopScotty replied to colin007's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Yes, there was not enough light when the 420 was taken, but the quality is better on the 210 due to the higher resolution as well. It's easy and fast to upload movies to youtube. There is a youtube function on the camera as well but I have not tried it yet. -

Take a look at the videos in post #7 http://thesandtrap.com/forum/threads...ht=#post445016 The face on view is with 420 fps. The target line view is with 210 fps. This is filmed with the Casio EX-FS10. Very good cam for golf. -
New videos. Please take a look. My posture is better now. But I can not seem to keep my "tush line" no matter how hard i try. Any tips is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

what club do you use for warming up?
FlopScotty replied to ronaldkuntoro's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Start with PW hitting a few 3/4 swings. Then 6i, 4i and Driver. I finish of with a a couple of swings with the club I am going to tee off with. After that I check the speed on the putting green and a few chips if I have time. -
The Biggest Secret? Slide Your Hips
FlopScotty replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
How about if you only slide forward and do not rotate? When I check my swing on video I rotate back without sliding on the backswing. I then slide forward, but my hips are square to the target line at impact. When I try to slide and rotate through I hit big pushes and even shanks. Video available: This is not quite up to date. I'm shorter and more upright now. A bit slower on the backswing as well. But the hip action is pretty much the same... I will post a new video when I get my new Casio high speed camera:) Thanks- 949 replies

Hi, Had a real breakthrough with my swing after reading this article: http://perfectgolfswingreview.net/pivot.htm Please take your time and read trough this, try it out, and tell me what you think. I think this article sums up and explaines all the major points with regards to hip movement in the swing.

Right (Back) Knee Flex in Backswing
FlopScotty replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'm trying to feel that i keep my flex (and spine angle) during backswing. But looking at video I do straighten the leg a little bit. -
Taylormade V-Steel vs. Callaway Steelhead Plus!
FlopScotty replied to GolfDogg22's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I play the V-steels and they are very good clubs. Nice classic look at adress and nice sound when struck well. Fitted mine with Proforce V-2 75 Stiff shafts. Good combination! Helped a lot on my trajectory wich was a bit high with the stock shafts. Have not tried the Callaways. -
Then do as clubchamp said and check them out. Seems that you can't really go wrong... However, if you use a push cart, check that the rangefinders fits in the console. The Leupold fits nicely in the Clicgear 2.0.

Totally agree with iacas. I love my GX-1. Good value as well. The scan mode when you hold down the button works good. It is really easy to see if you hit the pin or not.

Hogan Power Move, is this the key??
FlopScotty replied to FlopScotty's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Update: I have had a good week with some progress with the whole weigh shift and hip movement thing. Ball striking has improved. Especially with the big dog Had a major breakthrough the other day. I definitively feel that I am starting the swing with a small lateral move and a weight shift over to the left foot. The thing that has really helped me is to make sure that the weight does not move too much towards the target (too much to the outside of the foot). You have to feel that you really can swing into the ball using the left foot (inside of left foot) as sort of the base of the down and through swing. I think I am on the right track and will post a video soon. -
OK Sand Trap! What do you think of this one, good or bad advice? What he says makes sense to me, but I am not feeling very critical to anything these days. Are looking for the "missing links" in my own swing to really make the step to the next level this winter. Tell me what you think! Thanks guys

Hogan Power Move, is this the key??
FlopScotty replied to FlopScotty's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
That is exactly my problem! Well put. Had a trip to the range today and took some footage with my mobile camera. The problem is still there. I can see that I am rising my spine angle a few degrees at impact as well. Tried a more upright spine angle at adress that helped a little, but still struggling with the same problem. Still also trying to get the club less inside on the takeaway, but find also that hard to do. -
Hogan Power Move, is this the key??
FlopScotty replied to FlopScotty's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Thanks for all the good comment from all of you. Don't worry about spinning in to the wilderness from the start of the thread. I think we are still discussing exactly the topic I was hoping for when starting the thread. I really believe the movements we are discussing here are the key to consistency given that the rest of the fundamentals of your swing is somewhat OK. Just to bad I am always sleeping when you guys are discussing:) However, I was hoping you all could help me and others who have the problem of loosing our tush line in the downswing and through impact. I think we all can agree on what Ringer is saying here. Could you give us any pointers on how to keep that tush line back while doing this? Is it a good idea to try to keep the left hip back in the downswing through impact? Another thing, a lot of teachers point out that when shifting your weight forward, you need to do it to the inside of the left foot . Looking at tour professionals swings it really looks to me that they have moved the weight all the way to the outside of their left foot through impact. Example: Is this something that can be important in order to really hit through the ball? -
Hogan Power Move, is this the key??
FlopScotty replied to FlopScotty's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
OK, back from the range. The tip worked very good. Especially with wedges where I finally could hit a low penetrating shot with lots of stop. This has been one of my main goals this season! Did not get to try the tip with something actually leaning against my tush, but did it mentally and it worked out great. I am also trying to start the swing with less inside path to keep me from getting "stuck" with arms and club. Doing this together with "swing under me" swing thought worked out good. Still not consistent enough, but getting better. I will put out new swing video when I get my new Casio high speed camera -

Yes, great stuff in that thread. Read it after i posted:( However, there was not a lot of drills on how to achieve this discussed in the thread. Does anyone have any good ones? I will try putting my bag behind me today, I will post how it went tonight. thanks -
Hi Guys, Just had a video analysis with my pro and found a couple of errors in my swing. The most important one to fix is that I am not keeping my "tush line" at impact. Found this video on youtube and are planning to work on this on the range today. What do you guys think?? Is this the key to better ballstriking?
-
Hi, I have recently applied the swing thought of "swinging under me and not around me". The result is a much better ballflight on good shots, nice high draw. But, i duff it more than ever! I think maybe it's due to me dipping towards the ball with right shoulder in the downswing. Do you guys have any good tips on how to avoid this??
-
I know:) It's just a habit. I hold my finish almost until the ball lands.
