  1. There are two fitting systems that i know of. the Ping fitting Way and the Callaway fitting way. The ping way solely just measures on height from finger tip to floor and mainly only adjust loft and lie ping would rathe bend a club 4* then lengthen it, i believe a gold color is 4* upright... the callaway fitting way is impact tape and swinging, with callaway only really wanting to bend a club 2* at the most. i believe that if you shorten or lengthen a club a 1/2" it actually equals to a degree of lie... you should try and get fitted by a club fitter... and yes you should definitely have ping bend the clubs.
  2. i wonder how much the blades will run!!! Probably very exspensive just because of the TW stamp...
  3. Wow 4" over... wow that is alot to put on a club. How high do you hit the ball... but hey whatever works works right.
  4. Wow those actually look pretty good... wish it came with all the true blades all the way 3-pw.
  5. im surprised no one has posted about the 2007 TM Burner 3w... i think this is a really easy 3w to hit because of how the face is not as wide as some 3w's making the sweet spot very easy to hit because it covers the width of the face (as in Up an Down)... i love this club!
  6. The alidila is a great shaft but it has a mid kickpoint on it... the op wants a low kick high trajectory shaft... and the proto is way too expensive at $180 at a local pro shop... but it is an amazing shaft nontheless..
  7. the only thing that would change if you would have a better consitent swing would be the loft/lie angle... lengthening and shortening will not change as you progress with a better swing...
  8. A staff bag is really really big, so you have alot of big pockets but is really big. a cart bag has little pockets but still big enough for everything you need for the course. a staff bag i think is just way to big to be hauling around. i would stick with a cart bag.
  9. Do you by chance know all the speed, distance, back spin, and higher launch angle that you were hitting with that club? and yes you will be able to hit a graphite shaft alittle faster seeing they are alittle lighter and alittle more flex in it. The most important specs are your spins and launch angle. i believe you want your backspin for a 6 iron to be around 3500 and sidespin under 600. launch angle for a 6 iron is around 21* to 22*. and no graphite is not always for old people.
  10. It could be loft/lie angle.. correct me if im wrong but the hogan apex's are natorious for the lie angle being messed up by just hitting them for a couple of seasons. i believe the material is a softer alloy or something which is why they feel like butter... i would go down to a local shop and ask them to see if the lie and loft angles are what they are supposed to be for that model.
  11. A grafalloy blue prolaunch shaft is a good low kick high launch shaft.
  12. Almost every golf store either has a simulator or a swing analyzer. Golf galaxy is a great place seeing they should always have a qualified staff member on hand to help you out. As far as the x-18 irons, they are alittle heavy of a club, try the x-20's they are probably the best set callaway has made in my opinion. Make sure you go on the swing analyzer, they are more acurate than the simulators, reason being is the sensors are alot more closer to the hitting area then a simulator. but the simulators are fun though.
  13. Low kick shaft would actually give the ball more trajectory. you will probably want a mid to high kick shaft to keep a lower ball flight. but yes you will want a stiff shaft. at a 95 mph swing speed i would have went with a stiff shaft. i thought the line between of a stiff and regular flex is around 91 but i could be wrong. cleveland got smart and acutally put two differnt shafts in the model the yellow one being a low kick and the red being a mid to high kick. but correct me if im wrong but i think the alidila NVS is a mid to high kick shaft.
  14. yes they are very good at what they do... they should have a pga pro and a golf tech. which both would be more than willing to help giving you tips and fitting you for clubs. and seeing golf galaxy is owned by dick's spoting goods they will have good prices. For example, we have a dick's sporting goods in nevada and they usually have about a 10% difference in prices to stand alone golf stores... just my input though
  15. haha... yeah i think TM is reasonable.. with the R7 Draw and R7 irons at 399-499 but those callaway FTI-Brids for 1499 that is way overpriced... if i wanted a club like that i would go with either the hibore set or nike oss...
  16. i would recommend something like the burner or the R7 irons. in my opinion i believe callaway is over-priced. but by no means still a good company. the callaway x-20 tour irons is a good choice too...
  17. The SG-5 is slimmer and more portable... and i believe it is alot easier to navigate with the SG-5... but there is not much differnce only the SG-5 is the newest of the two!!
  18. I believe he is actually saying that it cost 50 for them to fit the clubs as in doing all of the work and such... you could probably get them to tell you what loft, lie and length they recommend for you. and i agree with the r7's being a good choice in clubs, that or the new cobra FP's irons. the FP's have a very soft feel to them and are and easy club to hit. I believe the R7's and the FP's are about the same at 499. look at it this way your getting brand new clubs fitted to you and they will probably last for a long time. getting fitted to your clubs does help you if your swing will remain the same but if you are improving on your game and getting into the right swing plane and improving your clubface at impact then i would just get it lengthened/shortened. If you would like to draw the ball try going for the R7 Draw irons. the draw version is just weighting in the clubhead i really dont think it makes much of a difference but thats my opinion. Hope this Helps
  19. Whoops , error my bad... my opinion still stands tho. the r7 tp is a more foregiving club and more reliable under pressure!!!
  20. The Taylormade R7 TP's are alot easier club to hit. Titleist is basically a players club very very hard to hit right on the sweet spot. taylormades on the other hand came out with the tp to give the forgiveness and easy to hit club that taylormades usually come with but has the slim looks of a titleist or mizuno! i personally would go with the taylormades mainly because they feel very solid and give alot of forgiveness for being a forged club. but the best thing to do is go down to your local golf shop and try both of them for yourself. Taylormade taylors to a mid to higher handicapped golf and titleist taylors to the low handicapped player. And that is the reason titleist started making cobra, so they can cater to a mid to high handicapped person. Hope this helps!!!
  21. wow... i live down in vegas and say a month ago i was paying 4.51 for 91 octane(super Premium) now its at about 4.11 for 91... its finally going down thank god!
  22. Im same with the OP... i love to autocross, but mostly rallycross that and drag. which is the same as autocross but on dirt. i rallycross in my 2006 subaru wrx sti putting down about 410 to all wheels... but golf is what im really good at...lol
  23. Im just a yungin working at a golf store... its alot of fun to see all the new clubs that come out and i get to try all of them...
  24. Tiger is one great player but i think with all the new technology it is alot easier to hit the ball the way you want it... back in jack's hayday, golf clubs were never thought as being forgiving or easy to hit... i say jack!!!
  25. I live in Nevada and my home course is... www.tuscanygolfclub.com
